Woowwwwwooooww.....this is some really gooooood stuffffff. I hear this being played live at an outdoor jazz festivals (in my head). I love the horn...it's all in the pocket. This is without a doubt the best jazz offering ever on Looperman. Thank you for the awesome download!!!
Impressive beginning and it only got better when the bass kicked in. I listened to this a few times and "wow!" just keeps popping into my thoughts! Loved the muted trumpet, the trumpet player in my old band would use his from time to time, it always made me smile. Are these real musicians playing bass, horns, flute? It doesn't sound like plugins to me. You have some talented friends my talented friend!
Top notch, one of the best jazz songs I've heard on the site. Great song Scott, keys were sweet all the way through and a nice variety. Always a pleasure!
I`m sitting here smiling Scott...reminds me of days on the road back then...used to slip down to whatever club was in the hotel for a listen & a nightcap...it was goodtime music no matter what some may now think of it & set up a lot of what was to come thereafter...you do it well (as always)...has the whole vibe...good listening over my way...just a great job ..as I have come to expect...Ed
Glad I could put a smile on your face! Our situations on the road must be similar, since I use to do the same thing. Yeah, disco got a bad rap back then, but I do look back fondly in my days with a big disco horn band.
Anyway, thanks for giving it a listen and leaving your kind words.
The synths at about 40 seconds made me smile, that was such a popular sound back then. That flute was nice, Ian Anderson sitting in that day? lol
Rhythm git had that funky slick sound and attack. Strings were well executed and to me gave the song the 70's total feel. Although disco wasn't my bag back then I can look at it differently now and appreciate it more. You nailed it Scott!
Thanks allot for checking it out and leaving your comment.
Yeah, back in the day, that synth sound was made by the first drum synthesizers. I had three of them called Synare http://www.snipview.com/q/Synare. They also made the 'clap' sounds used back then, too. They hadn't perfected the sampled drum sounds like they have today.
I wasn't much on disco, either, then I joined a big horn style disco band and really started to dig it, so it's kinda cool to be trying to replicate the sound today.
Just like a big band played...everything is perfect for this moustache and wide-necked jeans dance party from the 70's 80's...
though the best part for me is from 2.35: an unexpected metal drum jam...:-) AWESOME...
Scott
Hello mate,
Sorry I was leaving you this feedback last night but unfortunately I lost the network.
Anyway, this track is wonderful, I really like it.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Like Evan, I liked the vocals. Thought they sounded like Howard Jones a little. Very cool track Scott, guitars were awesome and the synths were nicely added. Lot happening here but still spacious. The whole composition is great, from the arrangement to the performance, it rocks!
Thanks so much for your listen and encouraging words. Let me know if you ever think of the voice it reminds you of. I had found this pella about a year ago and knew I could do something with it, and finally I did.
The tubular bells were a VST that came with my Sonar DAW. I played them with the symphony, and have always love them, so I use them when befitting.
Did you do the vocal Scott??....its one hell of a fine job....really good expression & delivery & totally on key...quite an intricate accompaniment mix but everything gets along well together...yes, I think power ballad nails it...and it rocks...well done.....Ed
Thanks allot, Ed. Unfortunately, it's not my vocals...I wish. I found this pella on the net over a year ago and knew one day I would do something with it, and finally did.
Ya know, I never really noticed the Floyd/Clapton sound before, but after listening to it again, I believe you are right! Funny how other people can point out something that you may have missed.
Anyway, Thanks for checking it out and commenting.

The contrabass and the piano work are outstanding...don't forget about the drums of course...:-)
Who played that piano?
Handshake, Danke
The piano is done by a guy I met online. His name is Damian Volstock, a retired pro. I hope to get him back on a future track.

1:32 lead is very fitting for the track. I like it a lot.
Voice reminds me of someone but I can not place who. Damn! That's gonna bug be.
Solos have a very classic tone. Boston?
I like the church-bells. I've been looking for some huge ominous ones.
This one was enjoyable all the way around.
