Hey this is deep and dark, just how I like it! Found it with a search for "atonal", didn't know what I'd find...heheh I like the atmosphere of this very much! Hope you're still around the site, because I'm going to play this on loopradio.net tomorrow! Faved for sure! Thanks for the DL!
Mate liking this one, intersting arrangement in a good way, keeping it interesting, liking the beat and heavy bassline, synths and effects are good also, another enjoyable listen, matey need more tracks :) run out of tracks to hear from ya now, so get busy making more tunes okies, fav'd....Peace mate...Estefano...
Haha yeah i know, I've got some more in the works, they will hopefully be finished soonish. I wanna try and have them totally finished before i upload them so they don't end up like this track, just sitting here unfinished for a month or so lol
Cheers mate, ill try and work on this one a bit more
Nice piece for your first track, dont mind the drums as they are, thinking they give it a different sound, which is nice, liking the effects and synths, very good work, vocals are nice and go very well with the piece, adding this one to fav's, great work, Peace and respect matey...Estefano...Have new piece up a tribute to the lost and hurt people at techno festival in Germany, hope you get to check it out, let me know what you think...Cheers....
Wicked track, even more so the intro, loving it, great beat and bassline driving this baby along just nicely, nice synths and fx's, Crystal clear and arrangement spot on, as I have come to expect from you in the short time you have been adding music here, very entertaining listen my friend...great work....Fav'd....Peace and Respect fellow Aussie...Estefano...
Liking mate, nice beat, synths very good, clarity again top notch, Liking the vocal, I have same vocal here that is going to go into a track I am working on, again liking the wobble bass more in this piece, not as hard as in the last one reviewed, you have plenty of talent, will be good to see your progress my friend, keep up the great work...Peace and respect man....Estefano...Fav'd...
Well here I am to check out your works, must say liking what I am hearing, was not to sure on the bass, but the more I listen to it more that I find myself liking it, very different, can not say have heard bass like that before, very good, flute is very nice, along with the beat, has very paid back sound to it, peaceful and thoughtful sort of track to me, sort of takes you on a journey, very well done, adding to favs this one....Peace mate....Estefano....I am having same problem using Ozone to at the moment, mainly have not had enough spare time to play around with it yet, just been using presets, songs seem to come out okies still but when I know what I am doing should sound even better, well heres hoping lol, I also do my works on Sony...Cheers...
Hey mate, thanks for your support of my stuff its been wicked. Sorry its taken me so long to get back to these, been heaps busy the past few weeks, have only just got a chance to reply. I'm glad you have enjoyed what I have put up so far, I'm hoping to update them a bit more as soon I get the chance. I will be sure to check out some more of your stuff, especially the stuff you recommended.
Again thanks for all your feedback, cheers soundboy
yea that is probably the problem if your keys are matching and it still sounds whack... yea try messing with pitching it up and down or just try rolling it upwards and downwards on the piano roll of your bassline to see which note it actually needs to be on. i see you use sony acid pro so i wont be much help there (i would offer to remix it for you) but yea i mean just keep playin wit it until it works. peace
yea man id love to see the wobble stay cause it sounds great but just tune it so it melds... if you need to figure out the key that your flutes are in do it! itll be worth the effort and then you can plan your bassline accordingly. good luck and feel free to delete my second review after you read it haha...
okay So I'm really not good with this music theory stuff at all. I've figured out some of the samples are in the key of C ( the same as the wobble) but I can't figure out the key of the ones playing at the same time as my wobble, to my ears they definitely sound out of tune to the key of C tho :S
Would pitching samples up or down possibly bring them into tune?
This is good man, i cannot make dubstep to save my life. I think the bass sounds ok, the out of tuneness that was mentioned before is not too bad. Anyway i really enjoyed listening to this, well done. Sounds like skream.
Skream! wow man thats the best compliment I have received when it comes to music. That guy is a legend and definitely someone I try to emulate. I dont think I'm anywhere close to his level but I'll take it :).
Glad you liked this and I'm trying to fix that tuning problem atm
very atmospheric and even relaxing! love it. i would like to let you know that your wobble bass is horribly out of tune with your flute... i would personally prefer a more melodic bassline for this style of dubstep that out of tune kindof kills the mood for me.
I'm not big on my music theory, but i get what your sayin, it does sound a bit off.. Lookin back at this, the wobble doesn't really fit in the with whole minimal tip of the rest of the song...
Not sure what I'm going to do with yet, but will have to go back and see what I can do with it I guess
So far so good man... I like it. Nice intro and some some chill wobs. I really like the dark aspect of this one. To answer your questions. The untouchable force track is at 180bpm. I usually create jungle around 180-200bpm. With that track I made the first drum beat using single amen hits for the kick, snare, crash. Then found a amen loop without the crash and just layered the single hits on top of loop to make it punch more along with some some equalization. But I did enjoy solar and I too am working on some dubstep tracks to post in the near future...Good work man...Blume :)
Thanks mate, much appreciated. I'm gonna do a bit youtubing on some Jungle tunes, your track has really opened up a genre for me that i Didn't no much about. Any Jungle anthems you can point me in the direction of would be awesome.
I look forward to hearing some of your dubstep tracks, in terms of dubstep tips if theres any specific problems your having I might have a few answers but I'm still fairly new to producing so half the time I'm not really sure what I'm doing lol especially when its comes to things like compression etc
When you post some dubstep tracks I will be glad to offer some advice :)
Nice work man , very along the track so to say,, if that even makes sense. Anyways i like it a whole lot, the only thing I could see that will help this a lot is maybe speed up tempo a bit (btw what tempo is that, cause it's good slow like that) and a some more wobble sounds in the background a couple more drum hits, maybe tho some claps and some reverb and some EQ, and you got a masterpiece!
I never listened to dubstep before until I started using this site, songs like this make like a lot. Good work man, is there ever lyrics or are they always instrumental? Dumb question, but I never hear lyrics on here.
Not a dumb question at all mate, there can be lyrics, alot of dubstep is purely instrumental with tune being driven by the basssline and drums.
However there lots of great dubstep tunes out there with vocals, whether it be agressive grime style raps such as this Joker and tempa T mashup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Smz76A3C_FA,
Real nice placement of everything! well done!! what you have to do is down load some windows files for sound tracks, I had the same problem untill i got those files! log on to downlaod sony acid 7 trial down load and it will come up!! love the flute and back grounground!! very soundtrack like!!
Im not sure where those acid files are, but I did find a tip on the net that told me to set the priority of acid to realtime in the task manager, this seems to have fixed it for now. If you could hook us up with a link for those files tho that would be sweet.
its all good mate, I respect your opinion and the harsher the review the better i think, thats how I'm gonnna get better. Just let me know the reasons why you didnt like it that much, so I can learn from it and hopefully improve the track :)
this is funnn man. minimalistic but extremely satisfying, the flute gives it a jungly / tibal atmosphere and that wobble is awesome and fun to listen to, really cool lfo timing
You'd Think after 20 or so listens, someone would leave you some words! This track is very well done, I have never been able to achieve that neural mid-range bass wobble without getting too busy. Very atmospheric and when the bass drops, It contrasts nicely. Very smooth pads. Awesome bass sounds, will be checkin it out with samples.
Sweet track, ambient dubstep for your earholes! Cheers!
Thanks mate, I'm having trouble getting people to listen to my stuff, i think because my first track was pretty garbage lol. my last two have been alot more interesting tho.
For the bass I just tryed to EQ and filter out all the low range frequencies, but yeah it can hard to separate the mid bass from the sub. I'm still working on trying to mix and master this one.
Thanks for your kinds words, i will be sure to check out some of your stuff :), cheers!
This is pretty good stuff man. I actually like that you take a while to get into the wobble stuff, because the part preceding it is excellent. The flute samples are lovely and my speakers loved the subbass (my fragile windows, not so much). I also like that you havent gone over the top with the wobbles and kept with the mood of the song. The ending fit in perfectly as well. This is very, very impressive for just your second try. I've had maybe 10 goes at dubstep and you've already come out with something better than I ever have, so good on you. And you'll only get better.
Are you using Fruity yeah? My friend showed me the synth wave manipulator in that the other day and it looked sick. Wish there was something so easy to navigate in Logic, I'd be up for some wobbley D-Step.
Cool man, like it. Good synth work, nice drums and I like the flute sample too.
EDIT: No worries man, and yes of course you can do it in Logic all synths have Osc's I think, it's just it's not as clear and well laid out as Fruity. I highly recommend Logic tho, it's an excellent program. Keep it up fam. : )
No I'm using Acid Pro, wish i had logic tho. For the lead wobble i used Albino 3 and just automated the lfo frequency. I'm pretty sure you can do that in logic, with its built in plugins or something like albino.
I like it, found the drums a tad off though. Great shot for a first attempt, my first dubstep, unlike yours, was absolutely pants (take a listen if you want although it's a very different style to you). Practice makes perfect mate, I'm sure you'll be making some great stuff soon.

Or the darker rnb style vocals that burial uses.

These are just a few examples, some of my faves i guess, theres heaps other great examples out there, but check em out there all very good tracks.
Ive used a few vocal samples in some of my tracks, not quite as effective as those examples lol
Glad you liked my track :)
