Hey mate, this track is really well put together. I don't listen to much garage, after listenin to this I think I'm gonna have to start listenin to alot more.
Im definitely not a pro either, so the only advice I could give is to add a bit of bass, some nice sub bass would fill out the bottom end nicely. Again i don't listen to much garage so I probably don't what I'm talkin about lol. Also maybe play with the texture of that synth line, add some chorus to make it sound bit fuller and/or a some delay time on it to add a bit of variation.
But yeah this sounds very good already, I hope my tips were helpful, I use Acid Pro as well so if you have any questions i know a few party tricks with it lol
Thanks mate your opinion really counts. Yeah could do with some help with acid, just how to change loops and make them alternate. No idea how to edit loops at the minute.
Nice bassline textures in there man, i love it when it drops back into the half time too. You really killed it with the drums here man, even the hi hats kill it. 0o0o I like that little rhythmical at change 2:21, (writing as I listen lol)
I was a fan of the original, until it got played every 5 minutes on the radio, in clubs, it was everywhere lol wherever I went I couldn't escape that Italian guy telling me about his Americano's lol
I like what you've done with this remix tho man, that initial buildup with vocal is very well done, I think that could even be used a few more times in the track for some big buildups. I reckon the longer intro suits this tune, maybe just for DJ's have just your kick and percussion playing for a while ( purely for mixing purposes) and then get into that vocal buildup.
I listened to the original tune that Yolanda be cool sampled the other day (it was some gypsy style Italian music from the 50's). They kept it quite true to the original, so simple yet so effective.
I like what you've done with this mate, a nice variation to the original. Good work
Hey mate, I did enjoy this one, very well put together. Love the way its slowly builds up, a very dark roller. I like how you just teased us for the first few minutes and then brought it all together, by the time this track gets to about 4 minutes its really bumpin. The only advice I would have would be to be careful with reverb on your kick drum, it did fit in the with the feel of the track, but it sounds like it gets a bit lost towards the end of the mix a bit. And maybe make that vocal sample (the chick) a bit stronger in the mix. btw where is that from?
This is really impressive for your first track, nice work mate
wow, this is awesome mate, straight to the faves. I'm not very familiar with jungle but I'm really diggin this, had my head nodding. The percussion is so dynamic, what tempo is this at?
Also that snare is sick, really nice organic, live kinda feel, is that just cut up from the amen loop or an old school drum loop?
Hey thanks brutha... and thanx for making it a fav :)I was posting a review on solar when I got your review so I answered your questions on your review :) If you got any dubstep tips I sure could use some...lol...Blume :)
Pretty cool man, floats along nicely, creates a real soothing atmosphere. In terms of tips, i guess just add some variation to the melody as the song progresses and maybe some warm sub bass textures to fill up the frequency spectrum and give it a bit of depth.
This soo good man,i dont even know what to say lol, sittin here like a stunned mullet lol Sorry endtransmission but this may be my new fav tune on looperman lol
That thick, gristly, kinda higher pitched bass sound is wicked, the one that drops at 1 min 22, how did you create that?
Yeah i thought you were going to say albino, havnt got mine to do that yet but lol nice work. Also with your whole sub and kick clashing problem, I've been watching a few vids on how the pro's do it. All it is just some basic channel eqing, roll off all the frequencies from about 90 hertz down on your kick drum and any other tracks to give your sub bass line room to breathe. I'm not really an expert, but this guy here seems to know what he is talking about http://ezinearticles.com/?Dubstep-Mixing-Guide---Kick-and-Bass-Mixing&id=3115438
daaaam I was just thinkin about sampling some chopper the other day, guess you beat me to it. Might still av a go myself but.
Im digggin the wobble. but yeah the track does sound a bit hollow, maybe try and add some effects or different layers to add a bit more texture to the overall sound. You can use anything really, I cut up a dogs bark the other day in one my tunes, added a bit of distortion and ran it through some filters, made for a very nasty sound.
try and layer your sounds a bit the reverb on the clap is nice but maybe layer another snare or a tiny snippet white noise along with it, to get that nice kinda smack inyaface sound.
The vocal sample might go well if its just by itself, then BAM! dropp the bass and drums in ;)
You've got a good foundation here but, keep at it mate :)
thanks soundboy, some parts of the drum are a loop but everything else i sequenced in reason 4. I havent gotten much to the wobble bass, as you can probably tell, will be a bit more of that as I lay it down. Im not so good with the breakdowns/buildups I will have to work on that part a lot. Going to try to make the intro beat drop more epic too
Mate this is awesome, i love how the sub bass and the piano melody tie in with each other perfectly, best track ive heard on looperman. Props for doin a gig with souls of mischief too, they are legendary
Hey thank you fam, was starting to think no-one would appreciate that pic! Haha! They are legends indeed man, nicest bunch of guys you'll ever meet too. Nice one for stopping by fam, I'll keep an eye out for more o your tracks.
