what a great track Bear, very emotional and quite progressive!
glad i've found this just before, better late than never.
this reminded me of some earlier shadow gallery material, which i adore so much. also mixwise i enjoyed it thoroughly.
one thing that i noticed - and please note that it's very minor - was at 1:54. the guitar melody placement felt a bit centric and narrow in the mix. it caused the sound to be perceived somewhat out of place in the acoustic context of the other sound sources. i feel like i am lacking the proper terms, but i mean strictly from a physical point of view and not a musical one. musically everything fits perfectly.
this guitar sound stood out slightly in the soundscape, like a tiny incoherency in the mix. not exactly sure why or what to do. maybe it was a mono track and could use another touch room or hall reverb or a very short and subtle delay to give it some more stereo spread. maybe even just slight volume adjustments.
of course this is a very subjective perception and my speculations may seem very far fetched & stupid in another listening environment. i'm just putting out there what was going through my head when i listened. i hope part of it made somewhat sense at least.
by the way, i was listening with headphones and it's even possible that it is only noticeable when listening to the left and right channel exclusively with the according left or right ear, as is usually the case with headphones that don't crossfeed.
last but not least, the fact that this very specific and not too obvious gripe of mine is literally the only thing that i found to criticize in this track speaks for the track itself.
cheers!

Hey Bear,

I can always expect some quality sounds coming from your camp. Another winner here, my friend. The mix is perfect. Love the strings

Hope you got out of your turn down day.

Hey Bear

Mate massive piece, right from the start, love piano in tracks, and the piano is spot on for a track like this, your vocals are very nice, easy listening vocal, very emotion piece, which you have achieve very well getting the emotion into the track with the piano and vocal, sometimes it isn't easy getting the emotion right in your works, but here you have done just that...MASSIVE FAV...Peace n Respect mate...Mosaic...

Very good song here. Synths are too loudly mixed for the track imo they push out the vocals and the drums. The performances are great and the arrangement is solid! Agree that this is a good collab combination, would like to hear an album of this band/duo.

Now, here's some fuckin music! You do a much better job than I do with getting a whole song feel into your stuff. Vocals are still better than anything I've done. Kudos to your testicular fortitude. I've added you to the "Respect" List.

Interesting toy piano intro, like SN, I wasn't sure what to expect and at the end it really sounds cool. As I listen the song has some great changes and dynamics from the heavy guitars to the synth. Is there a little tremelo on the vox in certain spots? That was cool. The singer gave a pretty darn good performance and effort. Well done to both of you.

Truly some great work has been done. Your vocal is very clean and soothing to the ear. The harmonies are perfect. Professional sounding in all areas. There are areas in this track that sent chills up my entire body. I always say if a song gives me goosebumps its a chart topper.

Respectfully,
Miss Brandon Michelle

Hahhh...what a song Bear...hyper melodies and fantastic piece of guitar playing...original on it's own, those synth tones are unusual but work well...superb number...

Best, Danke

Well, this is some unusual stuff. No way of knowing what it will be from that intro.

Quite possibly a nursery rhyme or lullaby, if you know what I mean.

Then it starts to turn more into rock music as that drum kit enters. But the fizzing synth dominates so that's a it different.

Pull back the drums and get a bit more back into the lullaby as the vocals start. Nice acoustic guitar in there.

Quite a mix of sounds and genres in the first couple of minutes. I guess I'd have to call it prog rock.

I've seen your name on the site before (loopmaker, maybe?) but don't think I've heard any of your music.

I don't love the vocals (not my sort of voice) but they're OK and work well enough for this style.

I would just complain about the drums being so far back in the mix. But then I love fat grooves though maybe you didn't really want any here.

3:42 classy lead sound and sparseness of beat and spacious feel helps us hear it.

This is classy stuff that could be pretty popular amongst people into proper prog rock songs.

Listened it once more and I have to agree with Eric, these melodies and your voice is absolutely top and pro...those parts from 1.54 and 3.26 are the winners, took me away with my dreams...:-)

Fantastic song...Danke

This is a brilliant song. unfortunately the time has passed the music world (pop) for this style of ballad. I loved it..but I am older and love these types of songs from the late eighties. I miss this style of song-writing so I am glad someone like you keeps the flame alive! And maybe some day it comes back in vogue and you can make some $ and have some fame.
great job:

Solid song, well put together, the variation keeps it interesting, production was superb.
But I think it should have been classified as Pop, or perhaps a sub-genre. Definitely didn't think of this as "Rock".

Still, liked it and listened to the whole thing. :)
Good job.
