Damn that's a good tune, top production skills ,everything sounds exactly how I like it,some great haunting sounds and a very intense vibe... top stuff!
Thanks sn76, I enjoy knowing that what I love other people love as well. Makes it a lot easier to produce. Hopefully I can get it sounding even better once I'm completed. THanks again and I'll try finding a track of yours I haven't reviewed lol Steve
Nice tune man. I like how ideas develop through the track. If this is just a preview I would love to get my hands on the actual track! Congrats man, very good, dark and intense dnb track.
Hmm, thnaks man for the kind words, I'm hoping the final version will be a killa. I want the second drop to be an absolute explosion, so it's going to be a while till that comes around. Got to get the effects, mastering and overall character right or the first and second drop won't coordinate. yah know? Thanks again, I'll hit one of your tunes up. Steve P.S. Merry Christmas
Haha nice man, thanks for the kind words. It's all the imagination, nothing more, nothing less. If you let it go, it can create some crazy and awesome things. But it's just a hobby lol Thanks again, I'll hit up one of your tunes Steve
Thanks man, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, so even though it's a hobby, I like it to sound like 1) nothing done before and 2) something that I'd jam to. Thank you for the kind words, means a lot, Even if people didn't like I'd still make it lol I'll hit up one of your tunes Steve
This is very intense, i love it. What programs/vst's did you use to produce this? Im really into DnB and Dubstep, so thats what im aiming to produce. I currently have a microKorg, an soon im going to get the EMXSD1 and KP3. If you have any pointers for a new guy that would be amazing. Amazing work, i hope to hear some more tracks from you soon!
Thanks you. The program(s) I use were Reason 4, and to master I used Audacity, Effects were made in FL with some VST's (I can't tell yah cause I used soo many lol). Well some pointers I've heard - and honestly they're spot on, you just have to know how to use them - is make EQing your friend, use other songs to determine your "quality" (add, subtract and judge whether or not it's hit what you want it to hit... Eqing can be done with this as well, certain frequencies can be hard to get when you're not sure where to look, but side by side a track with yours and you'll see which freq's are needed). Compressor's are a must, limiting can be used to a point but don't over-do it, and when making a track don't use mastering, just let the raw sound come through. Then master it; it will sound different whilest mastering than if you do it via premastering. Hope that helped :) I'll hit up one of your tunes Steve
Very very very nice. smart. would imagine that it might do a bit better if your subs were a bit fuller - minor criticism on what is otherwise an exceptional job.
thanks for the kind words man! I'm planning on redoing the 4 tracks I got up here and then releasing them either via label or as a CD via myself somehow. Anyways, I'll hit one of your tunes up, thansk again! Steve
Great instrumentation and a very interesting track. Enjoyed the listen. I assure you, I meant interesting in the most positive sense. In this case it was making me think about doing sometime in a similar vein.
All The Best for the Holiday Season to You and Your Loved Ones May the New Year be Your Best Ever
"Interesting" can be taken many ways. ;) But yea thanks man this isn't my best or latest so don't expect so much from them :) I'll hit a tune up of yours! Thanks, Steve
I've not really explored much in the genre of drum n bass, but this track makes we want to do some exploring. The arrangement is great and the production exquisite.
One of my greatest inspirations is the artist, Break. Huge sounds and professional composition with immaculate design. There are a ton of great artists out there, just find yours and then find your own passion within that genre! lol THanks for the kind words. ill hit one of your tunes up Steve
lol one tutorial that's quick is: EQ is your friend, treat it nicely and it'll treat you nicely back. :) Parallel Compression also gives a great sound to your mastering if you want a fuller sound... be careful though.
now then mate this track is simply FAT. i love the warping bass and those bitty percs mmm audio ecstasy i believe. really well produced this, love how everything sits in the fequency ranges well, good stuff mate.
Thank you for the kind words Not everyone has this opinion but i appreciate it when it's said! Hopefully I can become better, that's my goal. Continually get better, then help others become better. :)
this is deeper and darker than virtually anything I've ever heard here, damn good and clearly worth the considerable time and effort that went into it so far, love amen style d and b with a modern twist and this is a top example.
Hey Sn, thanks for the sick words man, but would you mind clarifying... you do mean just looperman, don't you?! To put me in the league of Professional DnB producers' is a little much man, I am not that good. Though, if you really feel that way about it, thank you. This is just a hobby for, a release of stress, and I suppose that as time goes on so my skill does as well. I just love music man, apreciate it, want it, and love understanding/learning about it. Thanks again for the wicked words, mate. I'll check out onea your tunes. Steve
Hey, thanks for the words man. There are no loops in this except one or two (royalty free) that I'd have to go back and check out to know. But this is all what I put into it, even the vocals. THanks for the review, I'll put one up on one of your tunes. Steve.
Nicely done big guy. I'm positive I'll be hearing a increased quality in your sounds. Though I do suggest checking out youtube and propellerheads.se for some very good Reason/Record tips and tricks. How would you like to go about this? Email me and we'll get something on the road. Steve
That is a very kind word, man! Thank you. I would hit one fo your tunes up but you ain't got any up! Let me know when you do and I'll check em out for yah! Always in for a helping hand! Steve
Nice, i love dnb and this ticks all the right boxes. The intro reminds me of xample a lot, then it gets slightly darker. Beats are banging, dnb is so hard to produce and im crap at making good breaks but you have it down. I noticed you made it with reason 5, which synths do you use to make your reeses, as i have trouble making one that doesn't sound like a screeching cat or something lol.
EDIT: Yeah hit me up with that stuff, a combi patch would be awesome!!
Ez mate, thanks for the words! I hear yah! The bass in DnB is one of the hardest parts to master let alone the beats. Honestly, a lot of it has to do with compressing, eqing and getting scream to do alot for you. I have about 5-8 eq's, 3 compressors, and 2 maximizers for just one bass. I could send some loops to give you an idea what needs to be done... though, probably a combi would be better yeah?
Thank you, John. Definitely put my heart on the seam of my shirt on this one. Hard to do on purpose but definitely something I enjoyed making. Keep it up on your side! Steve
Yoda says, "A tune from drumline 3, this could be". I really like the drums on this track. In fact, I like the whole damn thing. The tracks kicks some major butt. Love the sounds you incorporated around the drums. Nice transition in the middle.
This could be a cinematic piece quite easy. There's so much energy and so many elements.
Hey John, thanks for that, that means a lot man! THis is just a hobby for me, you know? SO even as I enjoy it a lot, I find it just as satisfying when someone likes my work as well. Sorry it took a while to get back to yah! Ill hit one of your tunes up! Pce Steve
This track is full of surprises... I like the changes in it. I'd make a little bit lowder the drums... but it's just my opinion: I can listen it just on the headphones at the moment... ciao, k
Thansk for the suggestion Keyj, opinions are very welcome! I'll deffinately look into it, since I'll be remastering all four of the tracks soon! Sorry it took a while to get back to yah! Ill hit one of your tunes up! Pce Steve
Thanks DS4L, I will be remastering the four latest tracks up here soon to get a better sound out of them all. Sorry it took a while to get back to yah! Ill hit one of your tunes up! Pce Steve
Ok, I'll say this. Arrangement wise, it's bang on, the reason it's peaking yet without punch is because you've got really tinny percussion and literally no sub or it's so low my speakers can't seem to pick it up (I have very good speakers not to boast). To compensate if you EQ some of those hats a bit and compress the Kick or add a little bit of Sub into it then it should have that punch you're looking for. i'd also like to ask, please if you have cut the Sub I think maybe if you give some more Sub, low cut it to about 40-60Hz no need to go any higher. But as a song it's very good, I like it but due to the tinny hats it makes my ears drop and the song just becomes painful to listen, not musically but physically. I'd like to hope you take my advice on board because you've got some great Drum & Bass ideas and with some tinkering along the ideas I've suggested you'd be awesome. Please don't anything I've said the wrong way, I meant it Constructively.
Thanks man, I'll PM you the details. I find the version on my myspace (.com/synergex) is the 320 bps so it's a better sound. I'll hit one of your tunes up, Steve
I seem to recall saying the same thing about another one of your tracks - hard as nails. I don't listen to much dnb these days but I can appreciate that ur tracks are less formulaic than some of the stuff on here and u put a lot of thought into the piece.
Thank you Ryan, that means a lot because I really do try to strive to make my songs unique and different from those of other people that make, as you said, formulaic songs. Thanks again, and I'll hit one of your songs up, Steve
