OMFG, before the lyrics even started I said chaingang music :))) great intro great story telling, the delusion is you is that you get out some day, it ain't happening now. Great track Wayne, really good, this ain't no coolhand Luke shit :)
Wayne, yep! Ok the highlights for me happened at 0:41 where you really dug in! 1:08 and the 1:32 groove! You got me with this! This made my day! Thanks for sharing.

Unmistakenly theHumps, Wayne you know I think your vocal is great, I've always told you that, you always capture that edge I have often painted a picture for your tracks as I never found the word to describe it until now, it's been mentioned enough, nostalgic that's it nostalgic, your folking great man
Thanks man! Well I'm on the fence when it comes to my singing.
I have listened to a lot of folk music like John Prine and Townes Van Zandt and their stories are so real and they suck you in. I'm just trying to tell stories, about anything, lol. Sand, cars, girls, unfinished furniture...there's gotta be a story/song in most things we encounter in life.
I just heard Neil Young say that if you write about the mundane parts of life as opposed to what's trending in the world then you've done your job as a songwriter, your not doing what most people are flooding the airwaves with, you are being original.
Vaya sorpresa más agradable amigo Wayne, me encanta como suena, buena sensación, buena línea de bajo y enorme ritmo, Me gusta la guitarra y tu voz de da vida y alegría a la pista. Buena mezcla hermano. Que tengas un buen dia. Paz y salud.
Wayne, it's amazing how you've captured this great nostalgic vibe here. The things that were notable for me, at 0:14 the congo is fire. At 0:31 the side stick..... nice touch. Also, the break at 0:57 was well placed. The total drum mix is done so so well. The vocals..... a perfect fit. So in conclusion, you and Robin make an awesome team. I enjoyed this. Peace.
Those are actually 2 tabla loops I used and not congas but they do sound similar. Robin sent me a bass with a little wobble to it and it helped give it some movement in the mix.
Glad you like it!
I hadn't done a collab in a while and Robin offered to play bass on one of my tracks if I ever did a Pink Floyd cover. I wasn't planning to do a PF cover so I asked him to play on this. He did a smashing job!
Thanks! Had to look up who you were talking about, had no idea, lol. Checked out some of his material, i heard a hint of why you would mention him. The only thing is, he knows what he's doing. :)
HUGE !! Have you changed your style?
it seems to me to remind me that you were more in the rock of the "sex pistols", your reconversion on this piece is excellent!
good work wayne !!
Michael
Hey Michael, good to see you around with some new tracks!
No I haven't changed my style. Just trying to mix it up a bit, get some new ideas stirred up in the old grey matter. Every so often I'll take a little break from the folk and rock stuff and search thru Ableton for some interesting loops and sounds. Plus I threw my back out and couldn't sit and play any instruments comfortably.
What a funky munkey track. I hear djungel elements mixed with other electronic sub genres, to many to count them all. You mixed them really nice into an urban expression of raw energy. The intro is a smack in your face. I like how you confront your audience and showed them what this track gonna do with our. hearts. Break at 1:15 is a well balanced and freaky as hell, you let us rest in a restless mind. I want to hear more from you, this one is for rave under the bridgde.
very cool retro kinda funk/prog/trip hop stg ... the mood is just straight from one of a Tarantino movie ... the special is that belching from 1.08 :-)
handshake, Danke
This is quite a piece of work man, every time I thought I had it pegged it shifted on me in terms of genre. This could go all sorts of ways. Very cool indeed.
Yes Wayne this is a banging track very funky but it's got an electronic edge, yes bro I was getting down to it, the industrial style can so easily be adapted I can pop lock and mime to this as well as funk itup to the chirpy parts
Thanks! Yeah, there's a lot of different sounds going on, many instances where it reminds you of some genre or style at that very moment. Just playing with some different sounds other than my acoustic.
Wassup, Wayne! What a Fun Tune! I have no idea what the chorus is singing, but it must be pretty happy!! This song's visual is a group of folk drinking and dancing bare foot outside in some dirt road town, just as dusk sweeps over. AWESOME!

Sounds happy ..the prisoners will not be that happy but ok
Perfect voice and text.
Nice work mister.
Thanks!

Yup, the bass does the trick, almost like it's supposed to be there. Robin worked hard to get it just right, fun collab!

Got lucky finding some loops that all worked together and allowed me to create something a little different from my usual stuff.

Wanted to add some clean rhythm guitar here and there but it's busy enough musically. Haven't looked thru the pellas yet.
