Nice to revisit this piece! This is so professional in every way from the performances to the mixing! All around perfection! Samba usually isn't my thing, but I can totally get into this!

Thanks Pat. This one was inspired by the two very cool drum and bass loops. I have those two tracks worked out for a couple minutes but for some reason I kept it short. I like it this way.

Sorry for the late response, life gets in the way sometimes.Take care.

sure, its short, but being that i can't dance thats probably now long it'll take me haha.

i really like that guitar and base, theres so much life here, so much energy, and from what i think i know of samba, calculated and awesome moves!!!

great job.

Sorry for getting back to you this late, sometimes music takes a back seat. I appreciate you putting this up on the review club thread. Glad you liked it, there is an appeal to me for it being so short, makes you want to go back for more, lol!

Thanks

This is ridiculously amazing. The guitars meshed beautifully with each other and with the the rest of the track. Really love the latin feel to it, kinda of like a slow dance at a dance near a beach. Was only disappointed with the ending as it felt like it just stopped. It was still a great track.

Sorry for the late reply Dave, life gets in the way and music has to take a break sometimes. That's ok because I usually feel invigorated and rejuvenated after a well deserved break. Thanks for stopping by and giving this one a listen. "a horny little number", haha, I met a few women who.....lol

Thanks!

There is not enough punk on the Loop. I actually remember this one from my time here prior to my one year vacation, haha. It was great then, and it's great now. Stellar mix, outstanding lyrics, and a real fun listen. Adding this to the favorites. Thanks for keeping it in the rotation.

Thanks Bear, I didn't think you were still here when I posted it but obviously you were. This one seems to be my most popular song despite being so simple in it's construction. It's a fun one imo. Appreciate you checking it out and leaving a comment!

wow,Wayne, talk about painting a picture. This has such a great cinematic feel. Brings me back to those great Sergio Leone's films with Clint Eastwood. The mix was the best use of my speakers today, this track is mixed to wrap right around your head.
The only thing that would improve this is if the smell of Gunsmoke, leather, Whiskey and Cigars started to come out of my monitors.

Faved!!

(p.s. thanks for catching my slip-up the other day and saving me even more embarrassment)

Good looking out!

Awesome awesome awesome! Definitely a bullfighting or cowboy riding through an open desert at dusk song. You did a great job arranging the percussion loops and beautiful guitar and bass playing. The harmonica adds to it perfectly and overall a moving piece.

Had to hear this one twice! Love the intro! Your guitar and bass work is fantastic, as usual! Good to hear TheThanx's harmonica in there, it fits right in! Those percussion loops are awesome, they work perfectly for this style! Totally awesome intense song! Faved for sure!

Thanks for checking this out. All the loops were great, I chopped and edited some to get them to fit where I needed them but they were exactly what I was looking for.

Play 2 now...

Well, I'd say that you achieved yer goal rather nicely here. I could see this being used for a jewelry ad or luxury car commercial. And I dunno why, but this kept making me wanna sing along to it. Then I remembered that car scene in Scary Movie 2 and then the song started reminding me of that one Vitamin C tune from about 10 years ago. Which prolly explains the singing along part, haha. Only tech-side thing I could suggest is if those mini-piano loops were done in midi to switch 'em out to a grand for certain parts (to help give 'em a richer quality, ya know). Otherwise, this was pretty nicely done. Cheers!

These were all Audition loops that came with the software. Sounds like Canon loops, fun to put together, hadn't used loops much when I did this. It has a nice holiday feel to it.

Happy Holidays Donnie!

Great track, Wayne! And you know what? I have always really liked guitar string squeaks, and I have heard them on some of the best albums by some of the world's finest players. So don't worry about it unless it bugs you. Personally, I think the squeaks are a cool part of that instrument. Shadowdog has found a real gem!
theHumps
theHumps replied Unknown
I could fix the squeeks but I'm too lazy!! It's part of playing stringed instruments. Sometimes I will just lower them and stil leave them in. I lose the clave in them though, that should have been louder in the mix.

Thanks again!!

Wayne
