BaoBou! I would pay big to see the expression on her face. See I have a daughter in her20s thats a full joy. The composition is filled with a lot of SOUL.
The change @ 2:02 mark with those chord progressions is def classic BB! Nice work and a befitting tribute to your lovely daughter.
Haha, my daughter is not extremely receptive to my tracks, so while I might play it to her at some point, I'm also prepared for indifference or possibly embarrassment.
My girlfriend is pretty similar - often the best reaction I can get is "No we didn't meet in a cafe" but occasionally if she then says "I like that one"I know it's real. My daughter has never even acknowledged the existence of my music :D
Hello my friend !!! Amazing track !!!! Just like Kay said : Delightful and heartfelt and well composed !! Polu sygkinitiko giati exv ki ego mia korh 35 xronvn pleon ... and I am older than you old man....hahahaha Na tis xairomaste !! Bravo !! Cheersssssssssssssssssssssss !!!
Kalimera Fani! Ela re, I will call you Kyrios Fanis from now on to show respect ;) Eyxaristw poly for enjoying the track and let's cherish our daughters!
Laughing like a river, music bright and sweet
Everywhere she goes, dancing on her feet
What a delightful, heartfelt song - well composed and from the heart
Thanks a lot Mark! If you're interested, I redid the vocals and remixed it and then put it on streaming as part of my latest album. You can find them through my profile or here: https://baobou.blogspot.com/2025/02/links.html
It's been a while eh. Lovely intro and piano with a heart felt vocal. And your guitars sound as good as ever. That's such a full, warm and gritty sound. Quite stripped back in a way, there nothing there that's extraneous. Good job my friend. Zoot.
Your voice, firstly, is unique, at least to my ear. You have a very distinct sound. Somehow I can imagine it being instantly recognisable, on any track, tbh.
Secondly, those lyrics feel poignant. Well written, well performed, very emotive... Somewhat coincedentally, your lyrics seem to chime in some ways with those I wrote for Yesterday (thanks, btw, for the offer of performing!).
Thirdly, I like how your track develops over time, gaining motion and energy as it progresses towards its crescendo.
I found the track to be moving and very memorable. Thanks for sharing!
Hello BaoBou, I think the way you laid it in your style gives it exactly what makes it work in my opinion....the emotional beginning slowly opens up to more tempo with the guitar, I think its a great piece of work BaoBou style.....
Hey BaoBou.
I love it! At first, I was thinking it would sound amazing if the tempo switched up about a quarter or halfway through into something more upbeat-maybe with some guitar, a touch of EDM, and your voice carrying a country-feel tone. That would definitely pop. But then the guitar came in around 1:40, and wow beautiful. It hit perfectly and conveyed the emotion just right.
Haha yes! Originally I wrote it as a piano only version but then as I was listening I grabbed my guitar and just started the power chords. BTW I've already changed the tempo a bit from the original (10ster). It really gave it a better energy I think.
I like it very much my friend !!! Emotional and somehow so yours.... But yes , get it out of your head for a while , make an other music track and then listen to it again !! I think this is the professional way to make things even better....!!!! (Ego panta viazomai file mou na teleivsv mia mousikh .... and I almost always regret it...) I wish you a great success !! Cheerssssssssssssssssss !!!
Eyxaristw poly file mou! Nai swsta, by taking a couple steps back I hear better what worked and what didnt' The start and end need to be stronger but in the middle with a bit drums I think I'm really close.
regarding the viazomai, artsists often have ADHD and we suffer from a combination of procrastination and accepting the incomplete - but that is sort of what really works.
I have a process in three stages which is essentially Looperman -> Youtube -> Spotify.
Looperman: I accept it's a draft and just get it out there to get feedback
Youtube: some weeks later I listen again before putting it on youtube and clean up vocals and drums (usually that's the most urgent)
Spotify: I go over everything again, make a new mix, sometimes get a proper mixer involved, I really spend some weeks to fix all the details and get it out there.
With these three steps I feel I get the most out of it. It's never perfect, but I can concentrate on just writing and producing without being held back by trying to get it perfect.
It has your tag, it is absolutely BaoBou. It is in your voice but it is also the composition with the varied harmonies and scales (if I get it right). Anyhow, I like the way all these are tied into a song, with lots of emotion and musicality.
Best regards, Anthony
Eyxarstw. Yes, I used almost every scale I think: A, Ab, B, Bb, C, D, Db, Dm, Eb, F, G, Gm. Not sure why I had to make it so complicated but sometimes that's where your hands go! :D
The tune instantly engages you to an emotion of longing and tears. To do that so quickly, within first few notes, is indeed a talent. The lyrics are heartfelt and I can imagine them in a musical. One observation - your voice is an emotional voice but when I listened, it felt like you could open it up a bit more, relax into the words. Other than that one minor critique, a very touching and original track
I love the observation about the musical. You're right, it would definitely fit!
I also love your observation about the vocals. I totally agree and I also thought about re-recording them before posting but I wanted to focus on the structure for now. Especially the first bars and the intro totally deserve better vocals!
nothing to be critical about bro, its a draft, the master is to come and there will be changes, the vocal is dominant in this cut, but the content is good they will shine later emotional and deep i look forward to it's progress
Hello BaoBou, my brother you know how to enjoy this thing called music, the fact that you create and perform it as well makes the listen so much more enjoyable....its hard to tell some folk what we get out of this but we know so that'll do...this is a pretty cool example of enjoying your work, the music is lively and fun to listen to....as well as your vocals keeping it jumping...its a good piece of work my brother.
Really enjoyed this listen, a very lively beat, with excellent vocals and beautiful music. The guitar solo was a great moment too.
Wish you best of luck with your albums, I do believe you deserve it.
Best regards, Anthony
I prefer therapy that I can dance to. Thanks for the invite it fills me with joy. The contradiction yet transubstantiation proliferates beautifully for us all in many ways with this one.
Haha you got it! I like having sad lyrics on happy music and vice versa. The contrast adds something to me.
Hello from New Barnet btw. Playing live near London Bridge tomorrow!
