Thank you mate for the review and the feedback on this one, since been away from making tunes for around 8 months so going to be a little rusty in doing my works, so getting great feedback from you is so appreciated that's for sure, mate went in and made some adjustments to the vocals eg lifted slightly and some other tidy up work, would appreciate if you could do me a favour and check it out again and see if you can notice a difference now, would be helpful if you could do that for me...peace mosaic...

It's people like you on here that have me listening to enjoying and appreciating so many different genres and approaches to music.
I first turned up here because there were some good quality free loops available and wasn't even aware of this part of it for a long time.
It's now my main radio station!
I still find it hard to believe an amateur mostly hobby site can be turning out stuff like this.

I know this track has been here a while but i haven't been here that long, so i give you my thoughts now, and go through the others whenever i can;)
Bro this really good one of the best tracks i heard on this site so far( i haven't heard as much as you but still), the percussion is awesome and that bass man is top! although feels a little low in volume to me but i understand you want the vocal to be the focus.
The vocals are amazing, beautiful voice and great lyrics.
Well done with the piano and that distant pad is just spot on.
Nice work my friend you got some serious talent.
PS: I just read the review you done on mudhoen's track,
man that was deep, hat's off to you for helping him out, good man.

well i never heard the early evolutions of this track and pop is not really my forte but i like the song the vocals are great very powerful and the mix all seems where it should be

this is simply a cool track. Reading the comments below was so enjoyable experience, I never expected to hear such funky sounds from you listening so much to your actual trance works. I am happy to discover some connections to ferryterry's works - he is my favourite performer on here!

The drums are snappy and funky, thought the bass could be a bit louder, I am a bass player so I usually tend to think that. :) I keep focusing on that flute, some tasty goodness there.

Good song. Very good work on the flute.
It flows nicely and adds a "70s" touch to the song which I like a lot (don't ask me why, but whenever I think to "funk" my minds automatically goes back to the 70s...)
"Bass-Drum" locking issue: probably yes... the loops don't match perfectly.
One interesting comment (close to what MrUrbanShokker mentioned in point 4): I just returned from a jam-sess with my "drummer of choice" and I was commenting with him on a funky riff which we played for almost 10 minutes.
I told him: "to make a cool funk riff, I think of a riff and then I start removing notes until I let the bare-bones of the riff stand out"
So yes: specially from a bass point of view, funk is "removing the un-necessary" and let the riff shine in its beauty! :-)
Thanks again for sharing the song with us: beside my "un-needed" comments the song is good.

Mate thank you for a great in-depth review of this one, listening back to it again just now, agree the bass not meshing well (or could be better) with the beat, plus couple of other elements could combine better, will look at this one again in the near future, but not just yet, if going back to it too soon will stuff track up, something I don't want to do, which I seem to do lately :(
Killed hundreds of decent tracks trying to make them better, so now learn to give some breathing space before going back to look at them, again many thanks friend, so much appreciated...Peace n Respect...Mos...

I it I de-construct funk in a minimalist way in 6/8 time signature. You can hear the high hats in the middle of the tune that I was describing. Keep at this one it's coming along nicely.

Mate thank you for reviewing this version as well as the 4 on floor version, had mixed thoughts with the reviews, mixture of good and ok ones lol...Thinking where you mentioned about the bass, I have added some extra in parts so that might give it a more completed part then other parts of the track, will try to do some more to this one over time, but not doing anymore just yet, I normally just completely stuff up track when going back to them too soon, Got a review from Joe MrFunktastic, he was happy with what I had achieved within the track, so that made my day for me, guessing everyone has different idea's on what funk should be, to me this has a funky groove feel about it, so that's why I put it under the funk genre, so to get a pass from Joe blew me away...Peace n Respect mate...Mos...PS: health still up and down at moment, had injections for shoulder, but still not the best at moment :(

Mate thank you once more for checking out my works, seems to be getting mixed thoughts in reviews, Joe reviewed track and was happy enough and giving credit for the effort I have done, considering my first attempt into the genre, have to admit wasn't looking forward to Joe reviewing, knowing how much he is into the funk genre, so was blown away when he enjoyed the track, guessing it could be better, but not touching it again just yet, way things been here, I have killed more tracks then completed, so if going back to it again, could just completely stuff it up...So best leaving it just for now...Peace n Respect ED...Mos...

1) Funk isnt four on the floor - four-on-the-floor is disco
2) You are using a bass loop. This is fine but the drums and bass parts really have to lock up - If you have a solid phat bass/drum lock, you can do almost anything else you want with it - but those parts have to lock, too...Your guitar loop is a bit off from hitting the accents
3) Funk is a very heavy downnbeat (The ONE)....Always hit the ONE hard
4) This is the most important: What makes any song funky isnt the notes but the space (the 'rests')between the notes....Funk has to breathe
Hope any of this comes in handy.......With all that said, your track really isnt funky, but it is a cool track....liked it lots....best of luck

It's also only your's third track Im listening to - and must say I like it a lot! Although am not quite aware of 'mainstrean' dnb style - but Im using dnb drums sometimes anyway... And I'd say I can really feel the connection with what you did here. I love a kind of almost eastern pad you're using around 0:32... Also the rhodes are very gently and perfecltly placed in the backround which creates some very unique athmosphere. Really good work on this one: this is groovy, energetic track yet still calming and peaceful indeed.

I do kinda agree Crucethus, though. A ride of some kind would be nice, break it up a bit and give it a bit more length, but ever so cool as is. I always like to make my track over 4 minutes. I feel like if I'm going to put 15 or so hours in a song, I want it to last, but that's just me. Great job!
