Thanks Wayne, She enjoyed it but my stepdad loved it even more lmao I thought about having my sister do the singing for me since my voice was so raspy, but I decided I'd rather take full responsibility for it haha

lol just with some reverb and some echoes, I plan on redoing this track once I get out of school and have the time to put more effort into it

if you use abletone look for mixing and mastering and use full chian master even while you record.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a shot

you could used less autotune on your main part. i think it a great track.
AmirGabriel
AmirGabriel replied 29th Mar 2015 - 10 years ago
but I didn't use any autotune lol (maybe its my shitty mic that gives it that effect I just messed around with some reverb and threw in a bit of echo.

That was too sweet!! :)

Very beautiful Lyrics, really! And very well produced by GoldenOokami!

I just wish it was mixed a little and I think a tiny bit of processing in the vocals here n there can make it even more sweet.

A very nice gift Amir, Wish your mom a belated from my side.

Thanks I wish I could have done more for it but I don't have too much to work with at the moment lol Maybe I'd add some autotune to my singing haha

I like your flow, but you need a better mic (just something that I thought when I heard it) also, using ableton us the eq to make your vocals "fit" better in the mix. (The sound kind of flat)

Great work, and lots of good ideas!

if you are still using ableton you can work on your vocals through that program instead of using third party stuff. just a tip to save some space on your hard drive.

you got a nice flow. how much time do you use on writing?
AmirGabriel
AmirGabriel replied 25th Mar 2015 - 10 years ago
I spend a decent amount of time with my writing I guess lol a lot of this stuff I actually wrote like last year then I went back and proof read it and added in bits and pieces. I also write on the bus sometimes since I have a long bus ride to school (of course I often doze off)

Agree with what has been said, you're on the right road. You can definitely boost the vocals using what you got already, Audacity. Under effects in Audacity there are two options you can try to make the vocals more up stage with the beat, 1 is to select the vocal track separately by clicking on its track detail panel to the left of the waveform for your pella track (if you loaded it separately) go to the effects tab menu at the top of audacity find the plugin called "Equalization" With that you can get them closer in sound. Currently sounds like your too apart from the level of the instrumental. Another way is find the effect plugin called "DJ EQ" which also helps as the 1st way which these two should come pre installed with that program. I've used it many times and helped me bring up my mixes to a more 'closer fitting'. Hope that's some help regarding bringing up the feel of the vocals with the instrumental. Also agree some reverb would make the sound have some nice atmosphere to make it shine or vibe along. If you do re do the vocal take try what I mentioned with it as well. Might be what you need until you get some new music toys. Cool share nonetheless. Thanks. Had me listening to your words and seeing your poetic paintings. Keep going. Peace.

I lack the hardware myself! I'm using Adobie auditions. Like the first one ever made. An I use my kids guitar hero mic on some of my recent tracks.i also use Shure sm57 mic. But depending on a sound I'm looking for vocally I'll use one or the other. Try reverb on your vocals( nice presence)

Lol I've been working with the trial version of Ableton for the instrumentals and loops, but with Audacity for the vocals and recordings. I'm using my sister's cheap karaoke mic that came with one of her wii games haha

Hey Amir...I agree with BONEZ, I would love to hear you put more ooomph and guts into your vocal, with more heart and intensity. You are on the right track with all of your tracks. Rap it out as if it's a life or death situation. Good job though.

AmirGabriel replied 16th Mar 2015 - 10 years ago
Yeah I know I can afford any good hardware at the moment guess its time I start saving up to support my craft haha, but how do you think I should go about editing the vocals?

Alrighty I'll give it another go with a little more heart and soul, do you think a little reverb could do the vocals some good?

I see what your sayin, the build up and then drop from the instrumental would have been amazing but I feel like that could of been too long of a wait lol
