Thanks for your comments on the rock song I put up. I appreciate them very much. I went to your page and gave you a review on one of your latest songs.
I agree that there are a lot of great musicians and vocalist on here. If you need any advise, you can ask most any of them and they will give you an good answer.
Hey Mr Randall...How's things stranger?...This sounds really good, so clean and crisp. awesome guitar work as usual...the guys vocals fits the track well with that type of tone he has..I love hearing alot of you guys on here..gets me motivated to do better..Anyway "Rockin Randall" have a good and glad to see ya back.
Thanks a lot for listening and reviewing my latest song. I have very few songs that I have done that had vocals added to them. Sure makes a big difference and a song more enjoyable. So I will try and incorporate vocal talent into my work in the future.
Glad you enjoyed the song and will give you a review back to one of your songs shortly.
Hey, we've missed you! This is great!! Welcome back. So good to hear real guitars played so well. Love the hook with the guitar playing the vocal line. Drums sound fantastic - what do you use? Great bass line and your rhythm guitar part is really really good. Fantastic track, so very well put together, nice mix, super solo, sounds great, I love it!!
Sorry its been awhile since I have posted anything. I was awaiting on another person to do the lyrics/vocals to this song last fall, but he ended up being too busy with college studies. So Erik and his father took up the challenge and made it happen. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I had it professionally mastered as well. I have other tunes started, just not finished yet. Takes me awhile as I am 'old'. Lol
This was basically a 150bpm song. As for drums, I usually use betamonkeymusic.com drum samples. Sometimes when a song is played fast, it is easier to get a nice steady beat going. The guitar lead parts don't have to be played fast either, to produce a good effect.
So I'll put up some more tunes as I can whether vocals included or not. Thanks for your glowing review and am glad you enjoyed it.
Hey, Randy, it was time for a new song and this time your traveling companions are two of my favorites. Huge rock with rhythm and energy. It sounds wonderful, and the interpretation of Erik is superb. Fav.
good gravy randy... this track is a killer!!! i hope you did not hurt yourself funking this on out!!! really am enjoying the arrangement and differint parts... as always great job with your playing!!! neil
Thanks so much for listening and reviewing this song I did back in 2009. It was a trial and error for me as I never did a 'funky type' before. Lol.
Anyways, I appreciate your comments very much.
randle, my man it is a pleasure to be the first to "comment" on this rockin' good track!!! great performance on the vocals and i like the lyrics!!! your guitar playing as always is smoking!!! great hook... lets get together and blow up a track!!! off to wonderland, neil
Been a very long time since I have heard from you. So am glad you got to listen to this song here. Most all my tunes are instrumentals, but now and then I find someone that likes one of my songs well enough, that they want to add lyrics/vocals to it.
So it was great that Erik took up the challenge and made it happen.
Thanks again Neil for listening and reviewing.
Randy
Glad you liked this song. It has been out there awhile. You are welcome to put vocals to it. Just don't make it into an 'adult' dirty song like someone else recently tried to. lol
Thanks a lot for your nice comments about this country song I did along with the vocalist. Yes, she made all the difference in this song and many others like it as well.
Hope to do more with her in the future.
I would give your tracks a listen, but I see you don't have any music uploaded yet. Hope you will soon...and let me know so I can give you a review. :)
It's guitar nerd heaven. You have a distinct style but you some how keep it fresh. I'll have to pay closer attention to how that your managing that. Always enjoy your songs. Very tasty, that old rock vibe with some electronic stank added in. It's a fun mix.
Nice Bone Crunching drive on the guitars, I enjoyed the strings and all the levels/tones mesh together really well. Great song. Nice breaks in there, accentuates the drive I find.
Thanks for your comments on this rock tune. I love trying different types of music, But mostly my songs cover rock and country...and some blues now and then. I am working on a slide blues guitar one now, and will post it when I get it done.
I have a couple rock songs done as well, and am waiting for lyrics/vocals to be added by the people I sent them to.
Thanks for your nice comments on my rock tune.
I always feel good when someone enjoys listening to my tunes.
I'll check your site and see what you have up as well.
Thanks a lot for your nice comments. I am glad you enjoyed listening to my latest country song. It takes a lot of time to get all the parts 'just right' as you well know.
I take pride in whatever song I do and I am glad others also enjoy my work, as you do.
I don't do many collabs actually, but perhaps we can work something out in the near future. I am working on several songs now. When I get 'stuck' on one, I jump to the other.
I am working on a slide guitar Blues type...another country and another rock song. So it will be in January when I get one or more finished. I also use 'ProTools' to put it all together.
Hi Randall.
Just wanted to stop by and say that i took a listen to the song you sent dad.. I'm truly amazed with the sound/song/structure etc etc..
And I would be honored to collaborate with you and dad!
I'll visit my parents for the Christmas holiday. So hopefully we'll record something then. (If i know me and dad right we probably will)
Thank you for listening and reviewing this country song I put together. All of my songs are instrumentals. I think I have about 33 of them up on here. 2-3 of them do have vocals added from fellow loopermen/women though.
Anyways, thanks again...I left a comment on one of your latest songs as well.
Hi Randy. Again I'm totally amazed over the full and wonderful rich sound you crank out of those Telecasters. I just recently got one Telecaster myself and I found that I play it more than my old banged up strat. Anyway, this is an excellent piece of music with a big, rich sound. A fav for sure.
/pmk
Thanks for your very nice review of my classic rock tune. so you also bought a Telecaster! Great. As you can hear, the sound is unique. I used 2 different guitars on this song. One was my 1972 Framus, a 'Les Paul' look-a-like, and then the Telecaster in the middle lead section.
If you would like to hear the vocals that 'Musicizmee' added to it, go to this link below and play it. She didn't add in a lot, as it was more of an experiment is all. But she still sounds great in it, and it adds to it.
Thanks for the listen and review of my song here. It just takes some listening over and over to get the jist of another artist song, and copy some of their licks/style. That's pretty much the way we all learn anyway.
Again, I appreciate the comments and I'll check out your page as well.
I appreciate your comments. Your welcome to put lyrics/vocals to my songs. Here is a country one that a lady on here did. The song is short as it was orginally a 2-part song.
I like this song... ha ha although I make hip hop beats I am feelin a lil country today so he he I might just put some lyrics to this and get it back to ya... If you dont hear from me again it means I failed miserably lol
I appreciate your kind words and listening to country. I did give you a review back a few min. ago on your Hip Hop.
You can put lyrics to it if you want to. Good Luck :-)
Great that you enjoyed another one of my songs here. I plan on doing a slow 'slide guitar' blues song soon. I haven't done one in awhile, and I need to keep my practice up on slide technic.
I appreciate your review and nice comments on my slow rock song. Making a good song takes a lot of time and patience....since I am basically a one-man band here in my home, I have to put everything together myself. Sometimes I do the final mastering as well since I enjoy doing that part too.
I'll check out your page here and give you a review back.
Thanks again,
Randy
Great tune man, loving the guitar, you really nailed this. I think Allen was spot on with his review, really great track, and really great sound. Always a pleasure to listen to your tracks Randy.
Again...thanks for your review of this rock song here. I am glad you enjoyed it. It is a good feeling to know that others enjoy your work, and maybe your an inspiration to them as others have been to me in the past.
This is purely amazing. The leads are great and like Minor2go said, it is punchy and full. This is mixed really well, the placement of all the sounds/instruments used fill up the track beautifully (something I'm still trying to research and work on)
Key Randy,
I love songs that I "get" right away,if you know what I mean and no offense to my experimental brothers and to all of us that do.
You stated from the beginning this was a classic sound and you nailed it with such ease that once again shows your experience and dedication to being true to your song.
I heard a little Frank Marino...which trails back to Hendrix as well as Trower on the first lead sound you used, even Pat Travers.I tell you that because I love it myself when someone hears my tracks and describes another guitarist that I may not have been channeling...lol,matter of fact,I sometimes get comparisons to artists I've never heard of and then look them up!
You accomplished what you set out to do and you did it very well!
big is the word that came into my mind first!!!
big sound, big song ...
amazing tone, but that shouldn't surprise me ... more than the tone I love your phrasing, every tone sits perfect and has it's time to develop ... simply awesome music!!!
wish you all the best Randy ...
Thanks friend for reviewing my rock song here. I had hoped I wouldn't disappoint you and apparently I didn't! LOL
This was a fun one to do trying to mimic another guitarist style. I think I came out pretty close.
Big sound comes from sustain using compression, and using a couple guitars in the background. You can hear what's going on by close listening, as I know you do.
Tone comes from choosing the pickup(s) to use...either front or back, or both in some cases....and I use the 'Line 6' vast library of amp sounds/effects avail. And most important is the use of a Metronome or 'click track' while recording. lol
