I am only 6 years late! I like the differences between the vocal and the muzic. It's like being in two different rooms, but hearing what's going on in each room at the same time. :-)
Very interesting mixture. And not in a bad way. lol. It's hard to mix acapellas with instrumentals and I think you were pretty successful with this. At times, it felt a little bumpy, but I think that's the nature of mixing like that. Well done!
srob, very helpful comments. I would like to make improvements. Do you mind helping me understand where it is bumpy? Or what is bumpy about it? I plan to get rid of those bumps.
Nice ideas and mix, some good sounds in there, just feel the beat could have been a bit stronger. The vocals did sort of sound strange...but I think that added to the track! A real nice job. Best wishes, Mark
Cool Music track, Vocal track some of her words don't make any sense... In a track that makes plenty sense, good mix with some nice sounds... She sounds smashed, to be honest I think she was holding on to the notes just a little too, long and fell off the note instead of falling up on the note... If you get my drift... Never the less not a bad project...Well done....
Thank you so much for your thoughts. I am glad you took the time and care to suggest some improvements. You are second person to say she sounds drunk or smashed. I will have to work on improving the vocals. I will also work on seeing if she can fall up.
Sounds exciting. If there's a demo version I'd like to try it out. "Mistakes" - i like them. Random glitches often help me to think outside the box. And even if you do not use them in the final mix - "mistracks" so to say - they often change the direction of the whole song. In this case it sounds like a song from outer space, because you don't get what language that is and "her" intonation sounds unearthly. You also added some fx, the laser gun like tones etc, while the persussion uses a very straight 4/4 beat. The voice is also a bit creepy. The mixture of all this is just exciting.
I agree, she sounds drunk, but it's clearly on champagne! Very cool mix of different elements, cosmic quality! The "dut-dut-dut-dut" bit at 3:05 is magic!
It is interesting what you intend and what you get. And how the mistakes can turn into magic. I was trying to get her to say dance (rather quickly). I am working on her pronunciation. I thought the accent may add something to the performance.
There's some good ideas going on here. Like what you've done with the vocals and the effects. I'd like to hear a bit more going on in the drum section. Perhaps add some more hats or something to jack it up a bit. Other than that I found this enjoyable. FR
Thank you for listening close and having some thoughts for potential improvements. I was thinking the drums may be too loud in places and pull them back.
Hey this is cool and unique! I really like the part around 1:50 or so when the pace seems to pick up... the vocal timing seemed weird, but it really worked that way! Way past my dubstep phase it seems, so that part wasn't my favorite... especially since the timing seemed to get weirder at that point. I like your use of the vocals in this though... might I ask if they were mp3 vocals? It sounds like it a bit in spots, but it is hard to tell. If you are using mp3 vocals, then it should be hard to tell, so you've done well in that respect! Definitely enjoyed the first three minutes or so especially. Quite a cool creative track!
hi, I like the first part which reminds me somehow of an old disco/electronic music. The dubstep elements you've added make it sound quite dark and unsettling. More contemporary. Your soundcloud link seems like it doesn't work.
Overall it's quite unusual composition but really nice. I enjoyed the vocals as well. Alex
Very Eclectic and nicely done. I love when artists on this site are not afraid to reach out and go for it , sometimes. Avant Garde and very cool. The Dubstep section was unexpected. Cru
There are definitely elements of this piece that I like. Would be curious how you got an entire choir for the background vocals. It's begging for a lead singer to make this song really stand out, as I think what you have now will make a good chorus.
Thank you for listening and letting me hear your thoughts. You always have interesting comments and greatly appreciate your honesty. Thank you so much. BTW - The choir is virtual choir played on a midi.
OK - well this is different - very professionally produced and tight within the genre. Absolutely loved the section from intro to 2:32 - use of spoken word with echo (announcement) effect is very cool. Didn't love the bridge as much and kind of expected a drop with exposition sans vocals in that part. Last section was good but I think the first part was the most effective. This was kind of structured as three tracks each of which could stand on its own. Well done overall and definitely unique. -clindsay
This comment represents the best of what I have become to expect from Looperman comments: thoughtful and insightful with helpful suggestions. Thank you for taking the time and care to provide your perspective.
My ear said no he didn't and her voice said, yeeees he did... This is on the mark for, creativity and style... Maaaad mix on the Vocal... When her voice moves up a few db, the music almost fades away you could layer the music bed, just under that one just to support it's foundation... I know the tactic trying to make her, jump out of the speaker a different kinda class act...Well Done...
well ProgRockDan.....Patricia deserves the finest of accompaniament...and you do it well...this one has a splash of motown and bit of ye good olde R&B when it was real R&B...a sprinkle of gospel...a touch of blues...maybe its its own genre but its great listening over my way this evening...good job...enjoyed it......Ed
ED, thank you for visiting. I was working at staying true to her original vocals. I thought they had a splash of motown, a bit of R&B, gospel, and her own unique touch. I'm glad you appreciate what I did with it.

Believe me: you would not like to have my vocals on your track. My, even software sounds far better than me!

Ah, sorry. I was talking about a demo version of that Vocaloid software. Is it difficult to use? I hate wasting time on tools that never ever work.
OTOH I could add some vocals to your track - you'd get the song that ends civilisation as we know it.

Madame Vocaloid seems a little drunk - that is a very fascinating effect.

Unusual indeed, but uniqueness in music is almost always good news. This is overall very good composition underpinned with more than solid production!
