Very cool and fun song! I like the playfulness of it quite a lot! Definitely sounds like something that would have come out when digital was new and people were experimenting. The 80's were great, though I don't get into 80's music as much as I used to... that's okay though, because this is new and I tried to listen as such. It's just minimal enough so that you can hear everything clearly. Very enjoyable! Fave!
I was hoping you'd get around to listening Spiv. I respect your opinion. I'm glad you liked it although it was probably hard to since it's so bubblegum 80's and a little disco'sh with the 90's sounding bass line underneath thrown in.
I'm actually pleased with the production quality. Might of passed uploading the song but happy with the sound.
The next track I'm working on is more true to the genre I'm going after. Still 80's, retro-future but more outrun electro that I'm trying to capture. I'm hoping anyways.
Yes definitly has that 80s feel , in fact its nostalgic which adds to the allure of the track . Love the beat and synth blended nicely . Good track all over ..
Thanx SH. I agree with your 80's assessment. There's a lot going on musically back then, some crap some good of course. But who's to say what;s crap and what's not? I've never understood that. I never call anything crap. I just say I don't enjoy it or that doesn't work for me. Cause I'm not naive enough to think my musical tastes are the be all and end all of music. To each their own. Life would be VERY boring if we all liked the same things, including music.
Back to your point, there are things to be learned from the 80's music scene. Probably why I'm so into the synthwave movement.
Really cool track. I must say, I'm not a big fan of syth drums, but I enjoyed this. Love the panning of the toms. I was really into the synth pop back in the 70s and 80s and this really brings back the memories. Good job!
I gotta say your description is spot on. It's quite an enjoyable track, and reminds me of one of my favorite artist. If you aren't familiar already, Check out Com Truise.
Respect
B.K.
Hey, thnx for checking out my tune man. And have I heard of Com Truise?...hell yeah! haha, I love his stuff. I'm still pissed that I missed him when he came thru Vancouver a few months back. I'll have to catch him next time.
That's a big compliment to say the track reminds you of him. I think my musical ideas lean towards the synthwave, retro-future genre that Truise is a part of. I need much better hardware and software to get to that level but I'm having a blast in the meantime! :)
Very nice tune mate, seems a blend of a couple of genre's but you achieved a very enjoyable listening piece, great clarity to the mix and great arrangement, this old fart was around in the 80's, cannot say was a big fan of anything going around then, pretty much like todays music, don't think to much of the shite you here on radio even today, but this is a great listen dude...Fav'd...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
This is great. A great 80's flashback (I wasn't alive back then but I know the 80's very well) and indeed, yes, this is exactly what you said it is, a 80's pop-meets-disco song.
I remember being in college and music like this being out. I was into punk at that time but this reminds me of Thompson Twins and early Ministry. Production sounds clear and you used some classic sounds, well done!
Hahh...what a tune...journey in time but back to the great 80's, when we were young (sorry I was) :-), we got bundes league haires and coloured T-shirts...:-)
This is cool mate. Very retro sounding indeed. I could be back in 1982 (wish i was, life was easier then!)
Great combination of synth sounds. You can tell that you like Kraftwerk and bands like that.
The vocal sampling was cool and i reckon this is the best track of yours i've heard yet.
Cracking stuff Renz
Thanx FR. I find the 80's pop synth sound fun. Simple, maybe cheesy but fun. And I connect to that sound.
I like a lot of different albums but the first time I heard The Man- Machine by Kraftwerk absolutely knocked me out. Not trying to imitate them but highly influenced by them.
Had to listen again, so I thought I'd feed the fire with a comment. I really dig this mix a lot! It's like totally shaking my desk when it hits the sub, I like it when that happens! I have to admit, my first remix was no where near this flawless! I has unusual timing on my vocals on this one, and I think that encouraged people to rearrange and do what they wanted. I wasn't always singing at the beginning of a bar, but at the beginning of measures, it's weird I know. Any way, still lovin this one!
Well since i've reviewed all three of your tracks i thought i'd review this one again as i haven't heard much of this song on the site much these days.
I think you're quite audatious to take on a remix so early in your looperman career. And as i said before it's a good effort and well mixed.
I might even add a bit more to my nitrate remix now.

1. showing a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks.
2. showing an impudent lack of respect.
I'm pretty sure from your encouragement and positive feedback since I've been here that you meant audacious as in bold. If for some reason you meant that I was showing a lack of respect, you couldn't be more wrong. I privately messaged Spiv from the beginning and let him know what I was doing and he enthusiastically gave me the green light. He'll confirm that if you ask him.
Plus, we still gotta plan that Looperman festival in India, remember? Does August work for you? That should be plenty of time to organize everything
You have done, in my opinion, a fantastic job on this remix. Totally danceable. And, I especially liked the way you used the vocal bits. I'm finding that the hardest part of developing a remix from the original. Good work!
Thanx man! I'm glad you like the vocals cause I too found it a bit hard to decide the when and where to place them. The end result might seem simple but a little bit of thought went into it.
This now seems to be the hottest remixing material cause so many guys are doing it (to be honest I have a temptation too^^)...you did it really well...congrats on your take!
I listened to this a little earlier and this and the other cool remixes got me inspired to to one myself. I like this, lots of space compared to the original. Mix sounds great, nice remix!
amazing mix. Love how you did 1:35 to 2:53.. and the sound you start at 3:30, I enjoy it. also great skill with the vocals, you've done this before! :) nice job
Thnx SM. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment even with being Nitr8-ed out, haha. I'm just getting to know who's who here so I'll have to check out your profile.
Holy crap, I love this! I would never have known that this was your first remix, it's pumpin! I really like how you used the less audible and less understandable vocal parts as a more out front part of the mix! Whoa, just got to the synth part near the end, that's freekin cool! Amazing work! Keep remixing in the future, because you obviously have major talent for it! Fave!
Wow, thanks so much Spiv!! I had too much fun doing this :) I definitely wanted to put my stamp on it. I'm happy with the synth part as well. Thanks again for putting the remix kit together and allowing me to smoosh it up!

A lot of musical history in the 80's... Many things could be learned...

I think I like each one I hear because the original is already so cool.
Can't really go wrong with that bassline.
3:30 section really catches my attention. Also, it's a couple of mins shorter than the original, which is a good thing.
Can't fault this one though sorry I didn't give much more detail, as I normally do. I think I'm all Nitr8-ed out for the time being.
