This track is driven with forward momentum and energy.
Love the phasing type of effects at 1.04.
You bring me back to my early days of collecting synthesizer music, on cassettes of course.
I recognize the voice - that's Harrison Ford if I'm correct.
The 'runner' part of your title kinda gives it away too.
Good job brother Renzy.
Be strong! - B
Hey BD, how are things? Good to hear from you. And thx, I appreciate the comments :) I have to admit, MrRobot deserves credit for his awesome loop. I just tried to bring it to life in my own way. Yes, its Harrison Ford from Blade Runner. And yes again, I gave it away in the title :)
Really sweet minimal Renz. Yeah you pretty much nailed the Moroder sound. Very retro disco. I think StaticNomad is right on the spoken audio. Harrison Ford in "Blade Runner" using some kind of machine to enhance a picture for uncover clues on a suspect. I liked the movie and thought Rutger Howards performance was awesome.
Thx for the kind words Cru! I'm a big Depeche Mode fan and I like some of Vince Clark's work after DM. Mainly Yazoo. But I never heard of this project. Thx so much for the link. Luv that track. Going to have to check out the rest of VCMG's work for sure! :)
hi again again,
ha! my kraftwerk-best-of piece would be definitely 'the model' which is a kind of a 'song' too and the one that somehow defines the style. anyway Im enjoying much that particular kind of a minimal-industrial groove present as well in your recording. Nice work on this one and simply keep it up!
Alex
hi hi again again lol I love The Model! You are right about how The Model sounds like a synthpop song instead of spacy and robotic. On that album The Man-Machine, it's so different from the other tracks but soooo good! :)I like all KW's albums but the Man-Machine was the first I ever heard and it absolutely blew me away so it will always be my favorite.
Thx again for the kind words Alex! :)
I see guys below said most things I think about this track. This is really cool old school disco/dance tune, minimal but it really has some special atmosphere. Keep up the good work!
Hmm very interesting sounds used in the intro... It sounds very powerful when kick comes around 0:49. Those monster screams in the end are nice finish for song! :) Good job here!
Hello again. I’m not exactly sure why you’re so surprised I listened to your track or liked it. Maybe you’re reading something into my musical tastes based on some track reviews you’ve read.
However, you’re sort of on the right lines – I don’t like boring, predictable, generic dance music and also often prefer things not to be minimalist but have quite a lot going on (a bit like in most of my tracks).
I’ve listened to loads of dance music over the years and do make a lot of electronic stuff. See my recent tracks Reckful, That Magical Place, 1.21 Gigawatts and P For Pneumatic for lots of use of arps.
“Trust me, there is a ton of music out there that I dont like either.”
I totally agree – most stuff bores me. There’s loads I respect and appreciate that I also find lacking any real spark or character to set it apart from the rest. I think making half-decent music (especially electronic) isn’t really that hard. But making really memorable and moving music can be very hard. Or sometimes it just seems to flow out very easily!
Anyway, your track is a good one and will be greatly enjoyed by people more into minimal dance music as it’s tightly produced and easy to move to.
Yes a wide range much better :D Yeah, I'll start it at the start of the music. Introduce it as the DJ then it'll start and play while the zombies eat. How do we know if they like music or not? :D Upbeat is good too :D Maybe you could get the zombies dancing! I heard some great ones last year on here that could've done it hahaha!
Is it WAR!! SHOOT THEM F*&^%RS!!!! Oops, guess he lost the war LOL! I always loved to use the shotgun on the Resident Evil games. I'd let them walk right up to it, point it at their head and.... well I think you know what happens LOL! Nice! Is this the one you want to play on the radio before I'm eaten in the mansion? I'll make the voice sample announcing "and now the latest hit by RenzWilde" :D
Ha, well at least he went down fighting! XD
Yeah, this one would make sense on the radio. Leave out the opening speech cause that would give it away, LOL. Pick it up at the beginning of the music or at some part after that. You can probably tell I made an upbeat, electronic track to accompany the zombie street fight. Did that on purpose cause, 1) thats what I do and 2) wanted to contrast the eerie sounds you and Joe are producing. Giving the LZA soundtrack wider range ;)
Very cool minimal but effective composition! Reminded me a bit of the Repo soundtrack for some reason, I guess I just watch it too much. Your use of the voice samples was good timing as well. Going to have to get involved in this thread of tracks! Great one!
Thx Pat. Minimal was definitely the plan. Zombies endlessly marching forward and devouring and the chaos it inflicts was the idea. The voice sample was a great find. I give him full credit and hope he gets the chance to hear this track.
And now that you said you are getting involved I'm holding you to it! We will be expecting an epic Spivkurl contribution to the LZA in the near future....unless the zombies find you and your studio first that is :(
Listen to the chaos as people think they can flee to saftey! That's exactly what would happen, people would try to flee the areas of dense population thinking they'd find an escape from the apocalypse. The roads, highways would become jammed and snarled with traffic. That music gives that sense of imminent impending doom 3:D There is currently no cure for ebola or aids and viruses are always mutating. So maybe the dead returning to life may not be so realistic an idea but who says people infected by this new virus wouldn't behave like mindless zombies? Foaming at the mouth, violent behavior, ect. How about that guy in Florida that ate an other guys nose right off his face because he was messed up on bath salts! Mindless madness! What if it effected people like they were high on drugs too, giving them inhuman strength, inability to feel pain, then they truly would be a monster. Good One! :D
Well you are just a cup of sunshine, arent you phatkatz? lmao
Yes, doom is always around the corner, thanks for drilling that in my head as I try to enjoy my first cup of coffee on this sunny morning, lol
I love the LZA (looperman zombie apocalypse) concept. I hope enough people jump on board so we can piece them together in a LZA soundtrack. How fun would that be?!
Was a creative idea from Madkatz (this Apocalypse)...
These tracks are fun to listen with huge imagination in the background...
I would like to take part too, but never had talent on these cinematic/horror pieces...
Respect RW, fav, dl, Danke
Hey Danke, thnx for the comments. I'm a fan of yours so its always nice to hear from you :)
You have to contribute to the looperman zombie apocalypse! You say cinematic tracks arent your thing but this was pretty much my first go at it. Plus, its all in good fun.
Just imagine a scenario that suits your talents. Maybe a rare glimpse of hope for a group of people or a touching moment between two people as they face doooooom!! haha
hi again, just wanted to add something more because this is a great tune. I really like minimal tracks in a way and you did it very well eventhough there's not so many elements in here... But everything sounds balanced and right in place! I mentioned Kraftwerk because this is definitely a bit old-styled 'robotic' music. Never heard about the band from the decription but again the song reminds me of some 80's german electronic. I enjoyed the stylish synth sounds you're using here and very interesting sampled vocals and industrial noises. The reso/cutoff filtering work on the loop makes it sounds very classic and retro indeed. Very nice work on this one! Congratulations. Alex
Thanks again Alex! Maybe you know or maybe not but I am a Kraftwerk fanatic! That's probably why I like Mr.Robot's loops so much. Some of them have that retro, robotic KW sound to them. Like I mentioned, the idea of the track was to keep it tight, minimal. I can tell by your review that you pretty much heard exactly what I was going for. Adding very little elements on top of the track outside of the filtered breaks and the sampled vocal sections was the design. Letting the beat drive the track. I appreciate the comments on the production too. Always room for improvement but I'm trying :)
Really nice to hear from you again. Peace brother.
Greetings. I liked this very early on as it's a classic sort of synth arp with a tight beat and all well produced. Definitely like Moroder.
0:33 synth fill I like.
You are right about it being minimal. However, it's really too minimal for me so I guess I need more variation and action and variety of sounds.
However, loads of people will enjoy this in a club as it has a cool, tight vibe. Easy to move to.
That is Harrison Ford's voice. From the title I guess it must be from Blade Runner. I'm a big Ford fan (well, back when he used to only appear in good films, which he no longer does) though I don't like Blade Runner. I can't say these very minimal vocal snippets help the track much and it's hard to work out what he's saying.
Anyway, good stuff though I need more variety and distinctive parts to set this apart from various other stuff I've heard that sounds quite similar. Additional elements could make it quite memorable but right now it's just solid and decent.
Well, I have to say I'm a little surprised to see you gave it a listen but I'm glad you did.
I appreciate your opinions on the production. Trying to get a wider, more dynamic sound yet still trying to keep it classic sounding, if that makes sense. Always working on the production side. This one is mastered differently from all my other tracks so far and yet I'm experimenting with other methods still and my next track might have a different dynamic from this. Always learning!
As for the music, or genre of music, I'd of been very surprised if you liked it. This isn't really your thing from what I can tell. Minimal is what I'm into and some like it some dont. Trust me, there is a ton of music out there that I dont like either.
hi, really nice production. very stylish and a bit old-fashioned. a groove type reminds me a little of Kraftwerk.
good work on this one - I enjoyed it! Alex
