MP,
This song has a serene soothingness to it. Heart felt quality vocal performance on this one, bravo.
Do I hear Celtic influence? Definitely.
I looked for lyrics but I guess you didn't post them.
The ending is very abrupt and in my opinion, the song could have been longer with a gentle fade out to match the serenity produced by this track.
Pop was probably the best choice for genre because I don't see Celtic Ambient Fusion in the drop down menu lol.
Fav'd. Top marks. I would rather hear this when I turn on my radio than some of the stuff coming out these days.
Mark.
Thank you! And likewise, I sometimes find myself preferring the rough edged amateur music over the highly polished radio offerings.
Regarding the music, it was pre-recorded by another artist ans simply ended that way, and I just rolled with it.
And the track is unfinished all round really, so the lyrics aren't properly formed, and that was simply down to the fact that the track ended so abruptly. But I enjoyed it enough to put it in my scrap book, so to speak.
And Celtic influence? It wasn't a conscious effort, but I'll go with that :)
Love the track, I'm currently studying film in college and think this song has a place in it. Whether or not your track is used I still really like it.
Reminds me of a David Gilmour pink Floyd number I really like your vocals. I am learning the process of dealing with vocals in my daw and would be very interested to learn from you on how you process that. Fantastic work you have done here best regards Robbie.
My set-up consists of a Rode nt1-a mic > DBX 286s vocal processor > Focusrite solo > Ableton. And the main softwares I tend to use for vocals are Izotope Nectar and Waves sonic enhancer, along with some extra compression and transient shaping.
After that, it's just a case of experimenting I guess.
Hey, I think you did a good job with this. Like the effect you put on your vocals. It brings it back to the singer songwriter days when music took you on a journey. It has that Peter Gabriel vibe. Nice work.
Thank you. More than one person has mentioned Peter Gabriel in passing now, so that's a genuine compliment, although I must rely heavily on effects to get anything sounding close.
Awsome sounding voice! Great delivery, hope you dont mind; it's sometimes really difficult to understand the exact words and this not being death metal clearity of words to me make an even stronger impact. But serious; great voice
And that's a perfectly valid criticism, and something I need to work on a lot more, as I tend to write the melody first and the lyrics second.
Slowly slowly getting there, and thanks for stopping by and taking the time out to review the song and leave constructive criticism, much appreciated :)
You certainly should have posted it my friend....the music is really good so I can hear why you were prompted to put a song to it....and if thats you doing the vocal...well Bravo...its damn good (lyrics & vocal delivery) and you sure have a very nice vocal character to the vox.....much enjoyed guys a big well done to you....Ed
I thought the music was crying out for some vox and hope I did it some justice. And thanks for such great feedback, as it's hard to deny that comments like this just spur me on that little bit more.
Awesome track bro.
BradoSanz' instrumental is really tight and has a nice somber vibe. Major props on the added vocal track. I like your voice, you have great control and lots of power and emotion. Its perfect for the music. Very well done!
The instrumental isn't something I'd normally listen to, but your vocals complement this track really nicely, making it a great listen. I love the difference in vocal styles, like for example how 1:50 sounds so different from 2:12. You have a great voice.
I did notice though that the mic doesn't sound very good, which is a shame. And I would have liked an end that was less abrupt. But this is a really good song, and I think you really made it shine. Great work.
Thank you, the change in vocal styles is something I do consciously, so it's really nice for me that you've picked up on it.
And you're absolutely right about the equipment. I was using the mic that came with the Focusrite Scarlett solo bundle -and my mixing/mastering skills were even poorer than they are today- in a space that wasn't suitable for vocals, and some of the results were horrendous...
Apologies for the late reply, but thanks again for the great feedback.
I was replying to my comments on my track when I saw this under"you may also like" took a listen. glad I did, I would of missed the diamond. absolutely beautiful! simplicity that carries alot of emotion. love how the vocals seem to merge with the strings. and the piano play beautiful. got a fav from me. amazing.

Thanks for the feedback. Although it's not something I aimed for, it definitely has an early 2000's pop-rock feel.
