Where have you been hiding that fab voice of yours mildperil...probably I just hadn`t caught up with enough of your tracks in the past...man, you have just the right amount of subtle gravel in the vox...and I particularly like the expressiveness you get in the delivery...it really sets you apart from the more usual canned stuff our radios play...Super job...enjoyed listening...big well done to you....Ed
Really pleased you enjoyed listening, as I love your music. I've never been a big fan of the usual canned radio stuff, so that is an extra compliment for me.
But I can't give enough credit to Denyjanuary who wrote the music in the first place, as without him, there would be no song.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a kind comment, much appreciated :)
This is as fragile as melting ice.Its impossible not to like your vocals and intensity of your performance.
Another well chosen instrumental that fits perfectly your vocal abilities.
Amazing work.
You've hit the nail on the head there really, as without the instrumental there is no way I could have evoked this song purely by myself, and that's the beauty of this place.
Thanks for taking the time out to listen and comment, it's very much appreciated and gives me the confidence to try and move forward :)
Amazing performance.I don't really care about the technical side of the production because that can be improved.
There's a great sense of loss and genuine sentiment, and the instrumental it is really beautiful and well played.
Great work
The technical side of it is a bit lost on me, that I cannot deny, but I do try and sing from my heart and it's really pleasing when someone picks up and connects to it.
Hey MP, I am on my lunchbreak and thought I'd use the time to listen to some songs...
It is a bit hard to tell with the little speaker if it needs different mixing, but from what I hear it sounds good. I love the feeling of the song, and you sing in a very interesting way.
Regarding the genre, for me it is a pop ballad, and a beautiful one.
I would be interested in working with you and my band on a song (Drums, bass, Guitar), if you ever feel like doing something then PM me.
Pop ballad, that's interesting, I never quite thought of it like that.
And I'm definitely interested in doing collabs with people, but the issue I have is that I'm totally inexperienced and have only been 'singing in anger' for the past 7-8 months, so I'm going to have to wait and see if my voice and style develops over the coming months - but like I say, I'm definitely interested.
Thanks for stopping by to listen and comment as well, much appreciated :)
I'm pleased you like it mate, and thanks again for letting me use your music, as I had a lot of fun singing this. Although I'm not sure if my neighbours share my enthusiasm!
Looking forward to hearing more of your stuff in the future :)
Nice man, not much mastering needed for something like this, it's pretty simple and emotional, although, would tell u to try anyway, u never know, gives a new way of making the music sound diferent
I really like the melody of this track, good voice, well recorded with effects that fits perfect. I would like to build something guitar related with that vocals :-)
I've just had a quick listen to a couple of your tracks (I'll go back soon and listen some more) and that's a real skill being able to build around a vocal. Would love to do something like this in the future.
I'm tempted to let you have the vocal track, but the background noise is almost unbearable.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting though, much appreciated :)
First impression within seconds was ... a bit odd weird a bit desperate a bit sad a bit rough and still my lasting impression and I love it.
The voice is a killer!
So much emotion painting the canvass. Good choice of loop/guitar too.
The kind of minimalism in the overall creation of this helps the desperation.
The only suggestion I'm going to make is keep the emotion strong in your singing ... falling to your knees and sobbing screaming pleading if necessary.
Had to fave this one.
All poower to you in the future.
You pretty much summed up the emotions I was feeling at the time of singing this, but then I expect no less of an observation from a fellow Tom Waits fan :)
Thanks very much for stopping by to listen and comment, much appreciated.
The guitar wasn't played by myself, but by denyjanuary here on looperman. The link to original track is in the description if you'd like to listen to it without me wailing on :)
Cool one for sure.
Anywhere between Hardrock Folk and Psychedelic.
Nice calm guitar playing and sound
and also very nice raw vocals.
I wouldn't work to much on this one anymore, cause it sounds in this style pure and right and has a lot of emotions in it.
I really enjoyed the listen!
As for the microphone, I'm basically using the one that came bundled with the Scarlett Solo Studio pack. I'm also using Izotope Nectar 2 for vocal enhancements.
This is one extra cool track mildperil..perhaps the lack of editing gives it a more real feel that we are used to hearing..really like the guitar (nice clear production) but the vocal is the star...delivered with feeling...enjoyed this one mate....keep on....Ed
wow!! The vocals blew me away. How did you get this sound? I would love to hear about that. But also the singing style, never heard anything like it. I guess now you got to finish it off around the vocals. Man!!
How did I get that sound? Probably a mixture of cheap equipment and terrible acoustics in my room :)
If it means anything at all, I used Izotope Nectar 2 for the voice effects, and specifically the 'Airy Lead' preset with a touch of harmony.
I think you have a very emotive voice and cinematic seems a very good place for this.
I could easily be sitting in a cinema watching the first few minutes of a film and this is the opening soundtrack.
My only criticism is as mentioned by someone else ... to short. I could do a five or six minute listen on this easily.
Wow very unique vocal style you got there. The precious comments said it all regarding the volume, may I ad that such a song would probably benefit from being a little longer. But well done!

And I absolutely can't take any credit for the instrumentals, that goes to a guy going under the pseudonym of DenyJanuary (http://www.looperman.com/tracks?mid=denyjanuary).

I definitely need to work on mixing and mastering the songs better, and hopefully that will get better with time and new equipment.
