Eyedye, hello.

This is a quality piece. Mostly. I would suggest bringing the volume down just a touch. I sounds like I can hear some clipping throughout the whole piece. Super easy fix, though.

As far as everything else goes, excellent work. I would absolutely vote against additional vocals. The choral work that's in it now is powerful enough to carry it through. Adding anything else would completely take away from that power, and end up minimizing the rest of the track.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you using for the choral samples? Is that a Soundiron product?

Take care.
V.

Thanks for the input Valve! And everything I make and use (Save the loops used from here) is done through Magix Music Maker.

I'm listening to this and it's very good but one thing that seemed to be missing was the presence of a a bass. I think you could definitely up the power of this already-great song (I love the orchestral/choir stuff) by adding some low-end punch :P

I can't fault it.
Sounds fantastic.
Will it be better with vocals?
Impossible to say without comparing it with and without really but the vocalist will have to be bloody good.

Pretty nice Heavy Metal track.

I pretty love your drum beat, and intro

but my favorite part is 1:34 at 1:52 min when you mixed the 2 voice (the cry and the non cry one)

Also welcome back :)

Wow..I knew that some people knew who I was, but i had no idea that I had such an influence on someone such as yourself. Your words mean a lot. Really. And I think the song you are thinking of is I'm Still Here, which incidentally is a track im still working on. So stay tuned for that and more! Thank you :)

I think you probably are one of the best heavy metal singers on the Loop....seriously, I think if you were in a studio doing your thing you would be surprised at just how good you really are (it's hard to really get a great vocal take while worrying about what the neighbors might think, haha). Still a really good job laying vocals over a great backing track. I needed this one to supplement my caffeine this morning. Thanks for that!

Keep at it, you have skills my friend. I hope all is well.

Hey Bear! Glad to hear from you. Honestly I may be one of the ONLY heavy metal singers on this site, at least for heavy stuff like this, but i still greatly appreciate the praise :) Im glad you really enjoyed it, and im looking to get to a studio sometime. Just...money haha.

heh, this has been kind of the story of my life lately.

but yeah, with danke on this one.
turn down the voice and screaming (especially the one under a filter, around 43 seconds) and turn up everything else and this will be golden.

as for centralsdevs, he doesnt have the best english, im trying to teach him how to be less rude but i dont think its sticking...
he thinks your a good screamer though i guess?
i think your singing is excellent regardless

Yea im not quite sure what he means to be honest. And thanks for the input. Still trying to get my mixing and mastering down. Glad i could have a song that relates to you too BTW. Its always nice if someone can go, "yep thats me" by listening to one of my songs :)

How that style of singing doesn't blow your throat out amazes me. Quite a performance. Hearing this music always reminds me of the song Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies. The elements of a screaming vocal and a more subdued talking/singing vocal seems to work to build tension and can really bring a ton of expression to a vocal performance, obviously.

Don't let life get you down man. We all have issues, getting past them makes us the people we become. Stay positive and def get back into making music, it can be a real the catalyst to some better times. Good luck, look forward to the new ones!

Well, there always is the risk when it comes to this sort of singing, my throat has just gotten used to most of it haha. Thanks for stopping by and your kind words. Glad you liked it. And I'm definetly getting back in to it, nothing will stop me completely from making music, so stay tuned for new ones! :)

Hi buddy!

You know what?

The song is a bit weak to your scream (maybe just in the mix) but you scream this number into the ground :-)
I very much like the howlings but the singing is sometimes out of tune (1.35 part...)
Idea: from 2.14 2 parted vocs...it's kinda rap orientated part...speech for main and the background is a low singing...hope, you get what I would like to...:-)

Good song, good vocs, need some corrections (on my humble opinion)

Hope, all is well in your rebuilt life!!!

lots on angst.anger..lots of emotion...music is about the best way I know to let it out EYEDYE..I like the part where your use your more natural voice the best...Your mix serves the title well...I also think your talent might shine a bit brighter in the more melodic forms of metal (if that is your preferred genre)...check out groups like Nightwish....their pre 2009 stuff when Tarja was lead vocal is great....In any case, nice job on the mix...keep doing your music, but think about moving on to a better place...nobody else is in charge of that....Ed
MOONLYTE
MOONLYTE replied 13th Apr 2015 - 10 years ago
My emotion is what carries me through most of my music. Im not the best singer, but ive got that emotion to convey. And I also agree that a mix of raw anger and singing makes a good mix. I do love the metal genre, but will throw my voice on to any haha. Its great to hear from you Tumbleweed. :) And I will check them out.

Its obvious you have the writing/lyrics abilities EYEDYE...the vocal delivery thing is one I have never mastered but looks like you are getting some input from our Looperfriends who know more about that than me...I agree with Orlando`s comments about the music/voice combination having a bit of the rock opera vibe...are you using a vocal coach at all??...might be worth a thought if you can find someone...I only mention it as I hear all kinds of potential in the way you combine words & music...and sometimes finding the right genre nitch is a key to falling into that more comfortable zone...my initial observation would be that your style might actually fit a pop music style better??...hope that doesn`t bug you as I mean it in a positive way....just keep at it...I`ve been doing it most of my life & still have a long way to go....good job....Ed

Hey ED, I did have a vocal teacher when i was doing some college, but that was months ago. Ive been looking into getting another, but proves to be very expensive haha. Im glad you think that i have tons of potential. And its been troublesome to find my best genre, as i can do most and try all. But more and more i have found myself into a more pop/rock type, so i take no offense at all haha. I can see how you think saying that would offend me, looking at whats considered 'pop' nowadays.
Anyways, thanks for stopping by, and i hope to hear more from you soon :)
