Description : This jazz track is for my good friend Mark, kingmt77. This was the first track I made in 2016 playing piano (unassisted) and synthesizer after not touching a piano keyboard for over 35 years. Rusty but not too embarrassing. Hope Mark and everyone enjoys it. Cosmo

Cosmo! So lets approach this from a different perspective. Imagine instead of the piano and synth, you're behind the controls in the cockpit. I'm your passenger. Long story short, THIS WAS ONE SMOOTH RIDE! 35 years? That hit home with me. You already know about my musical hiatus for about 40 years.

What popped with this was that draw me in entrance. Then you got this point/counterpoint business going on throughout with the synth bass and piano/synth melodies which you did superbly. For me that gave it a what I call a "wheel within wheel clockwise/counterclockwise feel" CREATIVE!. The statement you made is "I'm Baaaaaack" ! The point for the come back at 2:24 was flaming! Yes very well liked indeed.

I received your failed email attempt. Let me know when you're reachable again. Tell Vicki hello.

Stay safe and blessed,

Mark

Thanks Mark. It's worse than you think. I founded a software company for 20 years. We became a HP (Hewlett Packard) Business Partner and Third-Party Developer. My staff programmed HP's test equipment that worked with the Cable TV Industry. 70% of the Cable TV Industry operations were using our other Cable technical software we sold. I personally programmed our bestselling product. Ok, I retire. Within 5 years I didn't even recognize the technology anymore. Computer programming changed completely to object-oriented programming. In 5 years, I am a complete dinosaur. And now I've been retired over 12 years. How outdated does that make me? Anyways, I changed the "Name Servers" on my domain and I think my email is working again. This is what you have to look forward to in retirement. You're great, Cosmo

A killer jazz track - all the components are well-balanced and you did real good on the piano. The brass, in particular is divine. Kudos to you and I bet Mark will love it.

Thank you Kay and Oli. Delayed by technology but I got your comments on "Name in Lights". I printed them out. Everything extremely helpful. I don't have a valid statistical sample size yet however this is obvious so far. Everybody who listens likes something different. There is no obvious favorite yet. It will emerge with time and sample size. Thank you again. Have a wonderful day. Cosmo

I have an idea that Id be MUCH more rusty if I hadnt touched a microphone for like 5 years, let alone 35. Jeez man, we're not worthy. lol

Thank you MonzderSquadd. My manual dexterity is shot. I can't do sixteenth notes on the piano anymore. You have to practice to keep your skills up. I would rather produce tracks. I enjoy your tracks also. It's a mutual admiration society here at LM. Take care and thanks for listening. Cosmo

Well, Im sure he will enjoy this one. My experience with jazz comes solely from this website, with Kingmt77 and the collabs that 1Godfather and DanMed did that feature alot of saxophone and jazz vibes. I gotta say, I really dig it. Especially since I didnt much care for the saxophone prior to listening to those pieces. You did well here, especially with it being unassisted piano. Piano and guitar are my top 2 when it comes to actually playing real instruments, Ive got 25 years of experience with the guitar. This made me want to hear some more jazz type songs, so youve done really well here.

Pnnywze. I have to laugh about your comment on the saxophone. When I play a track with saxophone here at home, my wife Vicki tells me to turn it off. I ask her what do you have against saxophone. Her answer, "Kenny G". He ruined saxophone for me. I've got the same response from others too. I guess it's not a real jazz ensemble if you ignore the sax. Steve Bone is the guy playing on this track and I really respect his work. Thank you for your comments. Cosmo

Thank you dimestop,
I can vouch for Mark as a good person too. I'm in Guadalajara, Mexico. When all this chaos happened recently here in Jalisco, Mark and I were emailing back and forth. He is new friend, but you can tell when people are solid. He did a piano solo on one of my tracks. The link is below:

Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
