Description : Frustrated by local, regional and State health officials’ inaction and inability to educate people, particularly young people, about Lyme disease, a School Nurse’s Assistant has taken action.
Sandy Lafleur, Assistant to the Nurse at Milford High School (Milford, NH) enlisted the help of two very talented MHS students and has produced a short audio clip called “Tick Talk Rap!” Recorded on June 1, 2012 in the Nurse’s Office at MHS, voices are those of Darrick Jones, Dillon Harwood and Sandy Lafleur. Lyrics by Sandy Lafleur.
“Lyme disease is a huge problem in NH, with our state currently ranked at #2 in the US, with most of the reported cases in the southern part of the State. Young people are particularly affected and are not being reached with education. I wanted to do something to change that,” states Lafleur.
