on Paradis Artificiel by BLEEP
now that´s the funk we all love from the seventies with an awesome riddim section. this is awesome Bleep. & that subtle keyboard and the oohs and ahhs work great in the back of the mix. The wah work is sublime. Then itś a synth sax....
Nice work my friend

Hey Cru,

Cool feedback here, thanks for that! you're right, the sax is not real, but it was necessary for me to include this kind of instrument in this track... how to explain it... like a warmy desire lol

actually i've read nothing about the bass line. Strangely, i love it and it was my starting point :)

thanks bro for listening ;)

You need to increase the warmth, like a tube amp or analogue tape effect. Itś too digitally precise, almost too compressed. Lower the gain slightly as well and let it rise in that sweet sweet segue.

Incredible build up of anticipation. Itś Dubstep, but less that annoying bro-step, and pays some homage to electro and to early Dubstep, before it became corrupted. You have a good ear.

Ah!! There's the definition Tfon.. I wasn't quite sure as I don't really venture into this genre much. But, its whats popular right now in a lot of avenues of music.

Thanks Cru for the comment and clarification bud.

A hot mix entry at the start which might be a bit overloading, that is erased by that glorious segue at :28.Sweet sounds of the guitar and bass mixed with some glitch. Percussion is very clear in the mix. I would love to hear some violin melodies over this one. or even a guitar, such potential. nice work.

on Moss Mother Part 1 - Sun by ValveDriver
I started to listen , but that intro made me have to go pee. Damn getting old. Ok, back to the creepy plucks and then that brass sound. Intense opening my friend and sounds great in my earphones with awesome placement. Then that cymbal crash. Sabbath like beats, Then that phased sound kicks off like a demon spewing filth from itś unholy mouth. Then 2:35 the guitar riffs kick in with the tomś and massive snare attack. Holy Wah effects man. Amazing at this point. You bring it down at 3:54 to some clearing in the forest where the rites will be performed whether you want them or not. Beautiful arrangement so far. 6min mark brings some heavy back. Like your climbing that mountain with a heavy load, shedding all the differential weight on the ascent. As crowded this is with distortion I can still hear all the elements, so amazing production. Awesome ending with the crash. Loved it Mate. Loved it.

That was a cool song, I don´t believe in a god per say, but the song had lots of emotion frustration filled anger and resentment in it. Good channelling of those emotions.

on Green Gossamer by TheNyctopian
Hey, I liked this tune. I enjoyed that the melody was subtle and it was your arranging of many musical parts that gave us the chord and melodic structure. In Reading Verdiqo´s summation of the song, I have no idea what he means as his usage of the two words synchronic and the Dutch Harmonieus don´t make sense at all. Synchronic relates to you being concerned with something, especially a language, as it exists at one point in time. Chronus (greek/latin for Time) Synchronicity does not mean what he thinks it means in this context. I would ask him to clarify and define what he means, otherwise it´s just gibberish. Cru

on Chicane - Offshore - Uplifting RMX by novaspace
Hey, maybe you should re-read my critique slowly this time again. And you will find it's not so harsh and I actually give you some very nice props in it.
¨ Again thanks for your opinion but do your homework first before commenting with a harsh opinion like that. btw havent seen your name in the commercial industry :)¨

So I hate stupid responses like this 1.for for two reasons. you assume I haven´t listened to your body of work, and 2. throwing around your ¨industry credientials¨as if that makes you a better musician means squat to me. (I clearly stated ¨us Punters¨ which refers to amateurs or people like myself who only do work for close friends and has no interest in joining this great big sham called the music industry). I am referring to this piece of work and this piece of work only in its place in the trance pantheon, and I stand by what I said. So for people who are actually on the site most of the time as opposed to people who take a year to respond to tracks, and are severely lacking in commenting on other artists songs on this site, you would know that when I (Crucethus) get very particular and critical it´s because I believe that this artist has something special, and could do something with there work. But believe me, If your response is this, I have no problem not listening to any of your work and keeping my keyboard clear of words for you, I´m a busy Man and I have lots of things to do.

on Infinite - Sk1ne Ft Kiestyle Productions by KiestyleProductions
The key to a good Trance remix, is the space you create for all the sounds to be heard and yet mesh. You did that fabulously. It Borders slightly on the hippie-Goa sound. I liked the drop-off @ 2:33 the snare rise just sort of puffed away into mist. There is quite a lot to love about this mix and how you bring in the sounds slightly and subtly. fine touch. Finished and I loved it so great job with this one. Your friend should be super happy.

Honestly I appreciate your kind words so much, glad I did a good job on this. I've been making house music for years but never tried trance type stuff so I wasn't sure I was doing it right, but glad I handled it well.

Again, thank you so much.

I really enjoyed this one. you built on it progressively. and it delivers. my only complaint is the shimmering synths introduced at 3:24 overwhelm the mix a bit, but the idea and the execution was awesome to say the least. great work. fav'd from me.

on The God Unknown by StaticNomad
Raw Unfettered sound and emotion. Long gone is optimism and heroic sounds, but we are left with sadness sorrow and melancholy but with a restraint. This is the rawest sounds I have heard you produce in such a fashion perhaps ever. This is your Primal scream therapy. At 3:55 you sound as if you are just toying with us sonically. There is a a lot familiar melodically and sonically from you but so much new in this dark deviant sound you have created. I for one love this, this is now in my area of darkness and doom musically. A nice re-entry back into the fragmented world of looperman. 9:15 you are touching upon dark sounds. 9;40 sounds a stringed instrument used as a percussion sound, that is just simply awesome. Some nice double bass drums used tastefully throughout, and then I like the sudden ending.
Well done .

Godly greetings, Cru Diddley.

A very rare favourite from you. Praise indeed.

“sadness sorrow and melancholy”

Perhaps those but I heard it as more mystical power when making the track. I was probably fairly emotionless when making it so it didn’t feel like “Raw Unfettered sound and emotion” when playing or programming the track. I was just working with a slow tempo and emotive string and pad sounds. I was trying to make slow doom music but the mystical beauty took over, which wasn’t my intention. I tried to make it heavier but failed.

“At 3:55 you sound as if you are just toying with us sonically.”

Not sure what you mean. That’s the chillout faux g section where I keep that arpeggiated guitar VST from the previous heavy section going but with much lighter distortion.

“so much new in this dark deviant sound you have created”

The main new element is that delayed, droning, buzzy string bass sound that plays almost throughout.

“9:15 you are touching upon dark sounds.”

Yes, now we’re properly into the final, dance music end section and things are more uptempo and fun. Not mystical and brooding.

“9;40 sounds a stringed instrument used as a percussion sound”

That’s one of two music samples used here. Just one short riff from some clangy sort of stringed instrument (not sure what) that I find rather funky the way I’ve used it. Very percussive.

“Some nice double bass drums used tastefully throughout”

Well I am using a metal drum kit so I can’t help doing some double bass drumming, at various points. It’s good fun!

Thanks for the thoughts and I’m happy to give you a “nice re-entry back into the fragmented world of looperman.”

How did i miss this Bitch!
Incredible energy, needs a singer. would you go in the growly direction or the helium head style of singing on this one?
Cru
ValveDriver
ValveDriver replied 4th Apr 2018 - 7 years ago
Deifinitely the growls style. I’m not entirely sure what the heliumhead style is. But if it’s what my imagination makes it out to be, it would be pretty funny.

Part 3 is in the final stages, and should be up soon. Stay tuned, my friend.

Take care.
Aaron.
