Hi Mr Imaginary,
You are a great piano player: very very very talented.
I like a lot this track: keys are superb, drums are well programmed (EZdrummer?) and the bass line is very convincing (I could almost believe this is a real bass playing).
The ideas for the lyrics seems good: this song has a kind of "light heart melancholy" that fits very well what you wrote.
Looking forward to hearing it complete!
Take care, Domenico
PS: your output is clipping sometimes, but that should be very easy to fix.
PPS: in some points I could hear something that seems like an "electronic metronome" sound (a block?), not sure if it was intended or not (eg ~0:52).
Hi Wayne,
Good to hear something so "fresh"!
I like this song a lot: it has some touches of the Clash of the beginnings (Give'Em/London), specially your voice and the rhythm section: Clash never had such a great solo guitar player :-)
Good work on the bass ... and I would never believe that these drums are programmed: they sound so "live".
Again... well done!
Ciao, Domenico
Thanks Domenico, Jim and I both love the Clash! Yeah, Jim's guitar playing eclipses anything Mick Jones could do. And when he can play the frets off a guitar(and stand up bass too)why not feature him? I'm certainly not a lead singer so his playing needs to stand out.
I do a lot of chopping up of the drum midi files and notes to get a good enough variety of fills and interesting bits. I am able to separate the drums into 8 individual tracks in Ableton which allows for more options when it comes to editing and mixing the drums. EZ Drummer is adequate for me, it's midi of actual drummers playing live.
Good track. It could have lasted longer: I find it's "looping-nature" very relaxing, in an interesting way.
Good choice of the sounds.
Well done!
Ciao, Domenico
Outstanding work on the piano.
Your music is "wrapping" the vocal part as a silk blanket and is making it shine.
I really enjoyed it.

Hi Joe,
Good track.
Cru mentioned Type-O- ... I would even go more back and compare this to Joy Division's work. Less punk and more electro, but with the same dark feeling to it.
Of course, also in this case we cannot say what would have become of them. Life is cruel, yes, merciless ;-)
Tchuss, Domenico
Life is merciless but you can do just a new beginning when you think it is time :)
Nice to her that you believe that this track is a good one
I am always amazed with what great artists I am compared, although I am only the little Joe.
Thanks a lot for your comment and the listen Domenico.
Domenico, thank you for your words! Those like you give us some hope. I never expected to get these sorts of comments on a song such as this, but it is never unwelcome.
I'm happy that you enjoyed listening, and I appreciate the support!
Cool track Cru.
Even if you used Ed's guitar and pads, this track shows a lot of your own talent... and as most of your work, as a dark touch to it. Which is never a bad thing. Au contraire... I really enjoy this.
And you paying tribute to Ed is a nice thing: you are two of the most talented persons on this site.
So I can second Danke's thought... having a group of you 3 should be a nice thing to see. But of course, when it comes to the name, Crulandoweed wins hands down against Tumbleandothus :-)
Thank you Domenico. You are right I did add my own dark blend to the song, but that Lead Pad was so dynamic (see underneath for explanation)

Let me be the third one to say it ... WOW!
This is superb: everything at the right place.
Your voice, "telling a story". Sits perfectly in the mix and "dictates" the mood of the music. Again... let me repeat myself: superb.
I think this track is more than cinematic: it's just a great track.
Who cares if it's 3/4 ... I would like to hear something like this on the radio.
You sir, have a lot of talent.
And you seem to make good use of it.
Take care, Domenico
Hi MrNomad,
Long time no see (if I may say so...) but that's on me.
The track... this is probably my favorite Nomad's track ever.
Why? First of all I really enjoy the slow pace: 85bpm seem perfect to let you put several layers one on top of each other, still letting the single parts breathe. I am not missing any "acceleration" in the song: it is steady and constant and I like it so. Perfect I dare to say.
I can also enjoy what very closely resemble a "bass solo" towards the end of the song. I know that it's no bass, but it sounds like one. So thumbs up.
Very limited use of synthesized textures. I also enjoyed this a lot.
In these days of electronic music, I find always interesting to hear something that appears to be "real" (even if we know that is not, our ears still believe it is).
And ... last but not least: the title.
I find it very catchy and it fits the song well: this is about "exploration" and only who explores the world around can discover his own limits. Or at least that's what I like to think ;-)
Take care, Domenico
PS: I did not mention the superb production, all sounds at the right place. But somebody else did it for me, so I can put this comment in a post-scriptum. Not really relevant.
Yes, long time no see. Where have you been? Probably making music with your band. I've mostly been making cello-based music for the last 18 months. Much less guitar playing so I'm actually pretty shit at it now and rarely pick the instrument up. Cello is my main instrument now.
Great to hear you loved this one so much though I think I have many better tracks.
Yes, 85BPM is a great slow-mid tempo for me to groove over and let the track have space and feeling.
"a "bass solo" towards the end"
There is bass guitar in the track. Towards the end it gets busier eg from 5:40. My detuned slide guitar starting 3:23 also sounds a bit like bass, I think.
Yes, not much synth here but there is a cool, lead reversed synth 3:01-3:23. It's a very acoustic-sounding track because of the use of so many leftover resonator guitar parts. And newly played piano and cello.
The title is whatever you want it to mean but it's kind of a joke and kind of about me and my many limits (as a musician, as a human being etc).
"only who explores the world around can discover his own limits."
I like that interpretation but it could also be a jokey insult to someone. So, saying someone has many limits could be seen as a way of saying they're not very good at anything. But we all have lots of limits. Perhaps a limit in every area of our lives. How much good music can I make? I don't know but I'm sure there's a limit. Can I go beyond it. Who knows...
"I find it very catchy"
Yes, probably because of the alliteration - the 'm's in 'man' and 'many'.
Yes, I like the production here. It took a long time and lots of careful listening and correcting and trimming of audio parts. It's a really sample-heavy track but the samples are all my own playing.
I like the overall sound and I like the tone of the bass (a lot).
The contrast between the clean and the dist gtr makes thing interesting.
Drum sound is "big", not "huge" but big.
With the right vocal line, this could become a killer hit (foo fighters maybe, but a bit more "classy" it it makes sense).
Good work!
Ciao, Domenico
Hi Cru,
Indeed I got scared by your track: you are a real monster! ;-)
The bass riff is "majestic" and I could see this played with a heavy distorted guitar on a Rammstein song.
Superb work as usual: the stop at 4:20 makes me think of a scary tunnel in a funhouse.
Liked it!
Ciao, Domenico
Great work on the guitar!
I actually think you fit better in a good romantic place, with some good wine (Italian of course).
I wish you all the best!
Ciao, Domenico
I just want to join the people applauding you at the end.
I loved listening to this recording. I know what being "there" must have been a totally different experience: the sound of these organs has a "physical" component that will never be caught by any recording.
I wish you all the best!
Take care, Domenico
PS: when I was living in Stuttgart, I used to travel to Strasbourg for the weekend and listening the organ player in the church during the service was one of the highlights.
Thank you Domenico!
It is great to hear from you! I am glad you had a time to listen to my recording. Actually it is quite hard to record the organ during the concert properly. From the other side the 'live' performance situation component brings much of a true nature to what the music really is and what it eventuallly can become.
It is nice to know you're a fan of organ music. At the moment I do not work as a regular organist but will be playing and accompaning and improvising during Christmas servises also maybe this is why I am running currently a project of writing piano arrangements of polish carols - here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBlTpyMIAHc
I liked it a lot!
You have a very interesting voice, in some points he reminded me of Ozzy (not exactly, but it has something of his vocal style).
I think the mix and mastering could be improved a bit and I think the ending is a bit "abrupt" ... but this is a killer song!
Take care, Domenico

Thank you ^_^ It was my first time in a studio, first time imagining that music might be my future... it was a very big deal for me. It's good to know that eight years later, it's still getting decent reviews. ^_^
Well done ThatGirl!
I have just found a new talent here: good voice.
You deliver a very good and solid vocal track here: for sure the quality of the recording can be improved (Turtle Beach gamin headset I read...) but I like the way you sing.
Looking forward to hearing more from you!
Take care, Domenico
Thank you so much! I'm happy to know that this song, once rerecorded, will entertain a few folks. ^_^ Thank you for your compliment, too. It's always nice to know your efforts are appreciated. I hope I can improve your opinion with the new recordings, for now, I'm glad you like this. :)
Nice song. You have an interesting voice.
Maybe the mastering is a bit too "pumped": I think I can hear some digital distortion going on, but I may be wrong and this may be an effect you were trying to achieve "on purpose".
Anyhow, well done: we need more "old school" here at looperman :-)

Domenico
Hi Dan,
Interesting piece of music: I don't find it "weird" at all.
For sure the "choice of notes" is not 100% conventional, but I think that the final result is pleasant to hear.
I specially liked the introduction of the "happy" (almost "bossa") part line as a contrast to the tension built by the other instruments.
Ciao, Domenico
Hi Domenico. I listen to these note cluster pieces so much I stop noticing how dissonant they are to most ears. I'm happy if that bass line gave u a little break! Thanks for the listen and comment. Dan
Hi Spiv,
As usual, brilliant and unconventional piece of music.
Quite repetitive, but that was your intention.
Liked it...as much as one can like poison :-)
Many nice words were already spent on this, so I will keep it short: very very good.
One question: you mentioned you just "mixed" the audio tracks, but did you apply any effect to the vocal part or was it just recorded like that? I find it a powerful distortion, not warm but strangely good sounding.
Hello Domenico! It is always great to hear a comment from you my friend!
I would agree wholeheartedly that the drum beat is repetitive, and it is so since the only thing I changed with the drum machine during the performance was the volume. Otherwise it is the same short loop throughout, one which I made quite a while ago. The volume was changed for one reason only, because the drums were what was causing the envelope follower to react, which caused a bunch of other things to happen in patched items down the line. This change in volume adjusted how the threshold was triggered for the gate and trigger outputs, essentially switching the items down the line to a "half time" rhythm. Basically, only the loudest drums were tripping the trigger, rather than all hits.
I didn't make a selection of drum beats for this one, so definitely it would be repetitive without any changes.
Regarding your question about the vocal distortion... I added a multiband overdrive to the sections written "there doesn't seem to be a record filed." This was intended to be in the original live video, and I was toggling it manually, but I had a monitoring mistake which made it not happen live. All of the other parts are just the natural saturation of the transistor preamp that I designed for the condenser. I too like the way that microphone breaks up when I speak very close. It can be an expressive mic, since getting further away creates a very different tone. I use that mic on almost everything these days... :)
Thank you for taking a listen and leaving your words! Have a good day!
agree with MrDrizzou... this would really shine with some vocals.
nice distortion on the deep freqs... guitar work good as well.
some "jack white" influences in some parts?
I concur. Vocals would fill the void for sure. I have tried doing lead guitar over this but it just never seems to fit right. I think vocals would. I do listen to a bit of Jack White. He is a very talented musician but a bit of an asshole. He has some weird gripe against the Black Keys. I can hear some Jack influences now that you say that. Thanks for listening and leaving some feedback. It is always appreciated.
Thanks for listening and for the positive comments.
Everything was loops so to speak lol. That's the downside with Drums in that it can be time consuming to come up with a more natural sounding drum track.
What a pleasure to find a new song of MrVega!
As usual... your work sound always like a real band.
I am not sure how you manage this, but your sound has always that live feeling that make your tracks so interesting.
For sure vocals would be the icing on the cake here!
Ciao, Domenico
PS: I had to google to find the meaning of "asshat" ... interesting... one day you should clarify why it has to be an "orange" one :-)
Thanks, Domenico, I appreciate the very kind words of support. It has been awhile since I have uploaded anything new. I have quite a few tracks in various stages and I need to focus more. I think the live feel comes from the fact that I don't copy and cut riffs. I kind of like to play from a more progressive style. Kind of off the cuff. I will be adding a lead and then trying to work out some vocals. I have been practicing my singing and it's never going to be great but I think it can be passable. Thanks again for the listen and comment.
Good track GO!
I found it while listening to Spiv's remix.

Hi Spiv,
After a long absence, I was very pleased to find a new track of my favorite "trippy musician" :-)
I had to listen to the original of course to make a comparison: while the original track was already very good, I think you made it a lot "darker" and therefore interesting (at least to me).
I simply love the "simple synth" sounds you have used in the first section: they add a lot of "depth" to the track.
The last section has something of Carpenter's work (simple slow lines which build tension in a positive way).
The closing synth line... this is very 80ish and therefore how could I not love it? (but credit for this should go to GoldenOkami)
Well done!
Ciao, Domenico
Hey Domenico! Good to hear from you today! It's interesting that you found it darker than the original, and listening again, I guess I can hear what you mean. With the "midnight" theme, I suppose that makes some sense. This remix used all of the original wav stems, so a lot of the credit goes to Ookami. I did however take one shots of some of his instruments in order to make the composition more complex. Also raised the tempo to 116 instead of 110 BPM... enough to give some energy without too many artifacts. I think the arpeggio I made on the microkorg may be part of the carpenterish feel that you get... using keyboard tracking to control the LFO modulation rate gives a pleasing time shift, with a touch of tension. Ookami's leads in this stem set were quite awesome, and I felt the need to use them all. It's great to have you back around the site, and it was pleasing to read your words. Thank you!

The closing synth line... this is very 80ish and therefore how could I not love it? (but credit for this should go to GoldenOkami)
Well done!
