You've got this one totally in the pocket....has an ol's skool texture running underneath, the composition sounds epic. Yeah, I snagged it...thanks for making it possible. Gonna slaps some lyrics down.
YOU ACED THIS..PUT IT IN THE POCKET, AND ROCKED IT OUT OF THE STRATOSPHERE. The subtle strings (?) in the background are spine chilling underneath your brilliant vocals. Enough said.
"Muzicizmee4ever" and i both have Gospel music backgrounds, so sometimes it's easy to hear where she's going musically... although this time she said i totally had a different idea timing-wise.
Hey Richie...I truly enjoyed listening to this track. Thanks for sharing it! It's sooo smooth you'd never know the vocals came before the instrumentation...perfectly in time. To my ear if it's pretty damn near radio-ready.
Thank you so much for your comments and for taking the time to stop by and listen. It's a great compliment to have you say it sounds so good. Much appreciated.
I think it's pretty tight, but (don't kill me)...I think the overall sound would be cleaner minus whatever that synth sound is; it's heard last. To my ear, it's too distracting. Would love to hear a version without it. Nicely done!
It was a thrill to listen to Thermal Days! I read what you wrote about the tune before listening. I was expecting something somber. Instead, it's very uplifting....a total "Feel good" song. I hope it goes beyond these Looperman walls!
SS3LDOG...
There is so much going on with this track....it's got like a carribbean vibe, a 60's swag, and some Dr. Who...hahahha. Very interesting, keeps you listening. Love the Xylohone, sexy stuff.
Mix...
I hear a complete story in Breathe. This is probably one of the best Trance tunes I've had the pleasure of listening to in a while. I think the title fits it perfectly; it's airy and light while being texture rich.
Short Bus...
"I cut my teeth on the flesh of your divine form" THAT LINE ALONE BLEW ME OFF THE PLANET, BABY! Writing lyrics like that, you make me proud to know ya, man! hahahaha. The imagry is almost beyond poetic. Not to mention your song-stylist voice! This tune as far as my ear is concerened is perfection. You go 'head and be genious! hahaha. Props to Nuada, too.
MusicIzMee
If I didn't love you soo much I'd tar and feather you for not allowing downloads...hahahaha...okay maybe not feather ya. I don't want to sound like a taperecorder, but your vocals are perfection, per usual. This song is radio worthy...it should be on the radio. Your performance is very restrained, as it should be; the background vocals are sitting exactly where they should. Props to your partners in crime!
I can't believe I'm early enough to be the first to comment on this upload. of course it's brilliant, love the lyrics and the guitar..harmonies are in the pocket. It sounds like you did some effect on your voice (maybe?). I don't think you should put anything between that beautiful instrument, and the listener's ear.
thanks for the review leahcim. i actually did what i normally do: send along my plain ole dry pellas, and well, the rest is up to my "collab partner[s]". this is what he came up with, but i will be sure to pass along the info.
I read your post, so I thought I'd check out your stuff. You're gonna hate me probably...hahaha. But, I'm not being harsh...and in the grand scheme of things my opinions are just that--mine. The last track on your page is the MOST interesting to me. I can actually see that one progressing.
Whereas the others...well...we've heard it before--over and over again, have we not? I think one of the things that make great producers great is while they may be borrowing, the are also reinventing and stretching beyond (if that makes sense).
This is awesome...I like the way it kicks up a few notches. It might be just me, but this tune reminds me of Wolfgang Gartner a bit, which is definitely a good thing. What would happen if you pumped up the bass just a tad?
That certainly is a lofty comparison, even if only a small one, thank you! :D
I thought the bass sounded fine in my head phones.. I haven't really heard it on a big system, but I guess I could always use a bit of sub for emphasis :)
This is definitely reminiscent of soul music from back in the day with a contemporary groove: a la new or neo-soul. I am very much loving it. Fantastic job.
One of the perks of having folks comment on your uploads is you get an opportunity to check out their stuff. I'm Extremely happy you commented on one of my tacks because it lead me here!!
AWESOME!!!!! This track deserves to be heard in an outdoor stadium!!!! It's large, and soooooo funky!!! Is it just me, or does it get better and better as it goes!? I love it!
Hey mate thanks!....I always try (though not always succeed) in building a tune so it's second half has built on the first and gathers some inertia..whereas most pop songs do it the other way around, and have that annoying or successful habit (depending of which way you look at it) of staying in your head! lol..cheers man, appreciate the listen.
Dave :)
This comment is not just for this particular track, it's for your entire body of work here on Looperman. Your work is consistently tight from track to track--nothing seems to falter. Even the stuff that might not (in general) be my "cup-o-tea" is downright undeniably GOOD--totally in the pocket.
Love the dark quality of this one....instead of the synth solo I wonder how it would sound with a guitar solo instead? My ear says it's crying out for it. I instantly started singing to it, so it's obviously very catchy. I'll upload it here, I titled it Bitter Brew, and I only came up with three verses right off the bat, and a vamp at the very end. Cheers!
