I recommend you get your drum tracks down first of all. Get very familiar with quantizing; it seems you may need to make quantization a very good friend. Try tapping out the tempo of one of your favorite commercial tracks. No one always keeps a perfect tempo or rhythm and that's fine. What you gotta do is find a groove for your music.
Yep, and folks that is how it's done!!! Nice and short but you gotta put some more bars on this! Anyway good work all the same...and wifey was excellent on the hook!
This a good track. I dig your work on this track. It sounds like a good intro track. I'm gonna download it and put some vocal work on it. However, I'm NOT gonna make any promises as to when I'll have something done. I'm pretty busy...is that cool?
First of all, I think you have the makings of an excellent track here. I'm definitely no music expert but it seems that you transitioned or transposed to a different key and it stayed there for the remainder of the song. That was cool and all, but I feel you should have brought it back to the original key. I definitely understand adding variety is key but you gotta bring 'em back home. I hope you understand what I'm getting at....like I said I'm no music expert by any means...
Thanks man. Yeah I understand what you're saying and I completely agree, I just threw it together in one night cause I wanted to get some opinions from people on the loop on the general feel for the song. Thanks for taking time and listening to my song :)
This has a nice laid back groove to it. It has definite mainstream potential. I notice what seemed like a spitting sound...was that coming from your kicks? I would try maybe a different kick sample or check your eq and/or compression settings.
thanks man i appreciate the tips, it was a kick which does have a spitting kinda sound to it but i do admit the mastering of the kick was a bit dodgey ill get i fixed though!
Solid, SOLID groove! However I'm thinking maybe a little bit excessive on the cymbals. I would definitely flow over something crazy like this, just no time lately :(
It's a decent track I must say, however it seems like your voice gets lost in the mix when the bass kicks in. I can hear what your saying, but the bass takes the show when it comes in. You wan't people to hear what your saying because you did take the time to put the together the lyrics right? Please don't take it negatively, I just thought if you were gonna spit, people should pay attention to you. Otherwise they'll forget about what your saying and just focus on the beat.
i totally understand man and i appreciate the advice but yea the bass kind of overpowered the beat no doubt about it im still in the process of learning to mix and master a little better so hopefully soon i'll get it right.
That's really good for your FIRST time! Just slight imperfections, but overall still good. Remember quality over quantity - never rush things. Did you produce the beat also? 'Cause the beat was right on the mark.
This track has solid production. All your instruments sit nicely in the track. The vocals set the track off right. The kick definitely gives it the necessary trance effect and seems perfectly nailed in my opinion.
