This is from back when I played all the instruments.
I didn't have nearly as many samples as I do now. I did
enjoy it though. I guess that's the point of it all, fun
times.

sounds really great, this track. Super guitars, great horns ... somehow also quite African, isn't it? Definitely a groove I could listen to for hours without stopping swaying.

I can't believe the magical, dystopian scenes you create. I didn't know the John Cale track at all...
Although your earlier track is reminiscent of the Holocaust, the vision this new track creates is somehow in the future, which makes the whole thing even more chilling. I'm a naive positivist - let's hope for the best...

Hey Cru, it's amazing what a strong groove you can get with organ sounds. Also very nice to hear cowbells or bottle percussion again... Very cleverly done!

Muchas gracias amigo mío, me siento muy halagado con tus palabras de elogio. Esa densidad en la pista era mi objetivo porque quería reflejar lo que se siente al conducir por una vía con una niebla muy densa, para lo cual utilicé la reverb entre otros efectos. Awesome work where so much is going on but you still managed to let it be so hypnotic ... all works well together even if I'd say the guitar is a bit too far in the back and my favourite of it all, that cello (at least I guess it is one) could be clearer. Anyway, another great track from you, Ian.

Hey thanks Micky - the guitar was pretty wild so trimmed it down a lot - maybe too much, and thats a violin but pitched an octave down so yeah it sounds like a cello - there's two tracks of that one treated (but not double tracked) though playing the same phrase but at different volumes. I'll try to tweak it again at some point - appreciate the warm feedback.

Perhaps after one year you'll like this one less than your newer ones, but to me it has a special, extremely cool atmosphere. Some would say it could be mixed better but I'd leave it as it is. Sometimes imperfection makes all the difference.

haha good ears someone noticed or at least commented. yep, i was kind of aiming for a sort of polyrhythmic effect. it has no real time signature, or at least no set beginning or end to any 'bar'. or maybe no bars as such! I used two drum loops which i do quite a lot, then kind of slid one past the other until I ended up with something interesting. and the other bits and pieces kind of just got thrown in to wherever i thought they sounded good. cheers for the listen.
