Whoa! This thing is killer man! Super nice work with those drums/fills that makes all the difference in making it sound real and professional in my opinion. The guitar work is really good and the mix is very clean! You guys should keep collaborating and be a"virtual band"! :) Thanks for sharing this!

Yeah man good to hear some mention on the drums. I think they are quite a focal aspect of the track. Thanks for the comment todd.

I really dig this one! I think my favorite part is your use of that crow/bird sound. I think that sounds super cool! Here are my suggestions (take 'em or leave 'em), the vox you used is nice but am wondering if there were a little bit less of it repeated so much. Perhaps another vox could be found/used and maybe bounce back and forth more? Just a thought. I also feel like that synth/pad you introduce at 1:34 doesn't quite gel just yet, at least not to my ears. I think with a few little tweaks this can be an even cooler track. Nice job! Thanks for sharing.

I'll start by saying that Country isn't my first choice of genres to listen to, but I can certainly appreciate the musicianship on this track. It's a nice song for sure. My only suggestion might be that the lead vocals seem just a little too low in volume compared to everything else, and perhaps a touch too wet, a little too much reverb perhaps? And maybe the backup vocals can stand to come down a touch in volume as well? Not sure. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing this!

Loving the sound of your bass guitar here! I'm also digging your intro/build up too. For my ears though I wonder if you were able to change up the velocity of hi hat stokes? To me they all sound too similar and it feels a little too machine like, unless that was an intentional choice. I also feel like the vocals maybe don't quite fit with your track, they feel almost like an afterthought. That's just my opinion of course. :) I really like your track though and think maybe a few tweaks here and there would make it even better. Thanks for sharing!

hey todd! thank you so much for the great feedback, man. im pretty primitive, you know, and sometimes thats a favorable attribute and then sometimes it just aint. with the hats i was aiming for an eno-type rhythm bed to underpin what i wanted to be overtones. my reach far exceeds my grasp. ah, but i am in love with the pellas, its my setting that does the disservice.

OH SNAP! That quaint little cafe in Paris turns out to be the site of the most diabolical plot hatched against society of all time!!! Call in TEAM AMERICA....F YEAH! :) All joking aside, this is really good. Great build up and ramping up constantly. This seems like it's going to be a "typical" suspense scene cue, but THEN the electric guitars hit and a double bass drum! :) Great work thanks for sharing. I hope they catch those bad guys! ;)

Thanks dude! I've never been good at building a song without some sort of tempo structure, which is probably why I can't do the ambient cinematic stuff too well. Probably will attempt it sometime soon. Thanks for the review!

I think Arloph09 is essentially saying something similar to what I suggested, which is get more low frequency instruments involved in your track. Most likely a bass instrument, somewhere in the 30-50 Hz range (low end). Also the "boom/thump" from your kick drum would most likely sit in the low end too, somewhere around 50-100Hz or so.

Hey there. I like your intro although I think you can probably mix it up a little instead of repeating the exact same piano notes over and over. I feel like your piano overall is too loud in the mix and the vocals need to be louder in the mix. Overall I think you're missing some low end, maybe some more bass or 808's tastefully placed. Maybe a little more "boom" out of your kick too? Just some ideas, I'm kind of a newb so maybe don't listen to me. :) I think you could work this track a little more and it will shine even brighter. Thanks for sharing.

I love pretty much anything that takes a unique or at least not a straight forward approach to percussion. I love what you've done with the rhythm here! Bass sounds nice too. Have you considered putting some vocals over it, or other sound samples? I really dig this a lot. I feel like you may be able to push this even further if you wanted to. Thanks for sharing!

This is really cool. I like the way the two vocals go back and forth and blend. Catchy track. Maybe wish it was a little bit longer perhaps, and my only other comment which is just a suggestion, maybe the vocals can be a touch louder in the mix, or bring the instruments down a touch when the vocals are present. Just an idea. Thanks for sharing this!

This is really well done man! It builds really nicely and the movement seems to always being going forward. The lullaby part could have come off as "cheesy" but you handled that beautifully in my opinion. Everything feels on point. My only suggestion would be to try a slightly bigger finale note. In other words this feels a little like it ends with a period instead of an exclamation point. I think if your very last note were a big "boom" maybe with a little cymbal action it would feel more like a completion of something if that makes sense. I'm sure you had your reasons for ending the way you did but just thought I would throw out the idea in case you didn't already try something like that already. GREAT work, thanks for sharing.

Hey thanks for the nice comments. In short, all of the "noise" I make is mostly for videos I produce, as most of them end up on youtube I decided to start releasing the music through "distrokid" to try and generate a little ad rev through their royalty collection on youtube.
On looperman I don't earn anything, I started posting unreleased and now the last few are released, with the hope that maybe they end up out there in a cool video or something. I hope that answered your question ;)

I did the exact same thing a little while ago. I took an old track I made about a year ago and remixed it just to hear the difference and it was a positive experience. Sounds like you had the same outcome, that's awesome. Any chance you can post a link in a comment to the original mix for comparison? Thanks for sharing!

Nice job! Good mix, and great stereo sounds happening from left to right! My personal feeling is that your first drop works better than your second one. To me the second one feels "unsatisfying". Your build up to 2:09 sounds like it's going to drop and then when it doesn't it feels kind of flat to me. Could just be me but feel like 2:09 to 2:13 could be taken out or reworked. I also think you might be able to add a little "sumthin' sumthin'" to your middle section too, not sure what though. Don't get me wrong this is an excellent track, just trying to offer some suggestions. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the listen, I took a bit of a risk with the buildups trying to be a bit different. I rarely make this genre so I'll definitely take your words into consideration.

Commented on The smell of rain by Zivonmusic

This is super sweet!!! I think with ambient tracks like this its hard to get someone to really listen to the whole thing. I think we've become so click antsy and want things to happen quickly. This forces you to slow down. I closed my eyes and it was a nice little calming vacation for my brain, so thank you! I only suggestion from a conceptual stand point might be to play around with how your arrangement changes when the rain stops. In other words, maybe going heavier on the dramatic "sad" parts while the rain is in the background, and then when the rain stops it opens up just and becomes a little more upbeat "happy"...not much but enough to notice. It may conjure up more feeling from the listening and put them in that space more. Just a thought. Great job with this! Thanks for sharing it!

Awesome layering, arrangement, use of sounds. I like when tracks use a dense layer of sound sources BUT not making the song feel cluttered. You have achieved that. I know what you're saying, but something feels "unsatisfying" about it to me. Here's another idea/thought. What if you leave it the way you have it but add just one extra beat then cut them off? So, it sounds like you are ending on the "4". But maybe try cutting them on the 1 of the next measure instead? In other words one extra kick drum on the 1 as well as one extra note from your synth then let them cut out and come back where you have them still. Make sense?

Overall I really like what you have here. The intro has a super nice build to it. I didn't lose interest which sometimes happens with intros. Ok, so this is just my opinion nothing more, but I felt like that "arpy/wah wah wah" sound that cuts out briefly at 1:02, I find myself MISSING it. Have you tried the same arrangement but instead just cut the drums out briefly instead? Might be worth a try. Same thing at 1:33. The vocals are cool but for my taste perhaps just a touch too much reverb/delay? Overall though I think you did an excellent job with this! Thanks for sharing. Hope I was somewhat helpful even if you decide you don't agree with what I said. :)

    Reply by giuliomusic

thanks for the feedback! I see what you mean at 1:02/1:33, i guess the idea was to give the first beat maximal impact but i could try keeping the synth linne. Also yeah the voice is super reverby probably should tune it down a bit.
