lol i know what you mean about having to use a mouse in a piano roll. its how i do all of my piano work, actually. this is so REAL quality work youve got here. the melody is amazing. its embedded itself into my brain, but not in an intrusive way lol.
the drums are great, and i think this mix is quite good, actually.
great job!
i love that you started your production carreer on a nokia. i did too! i would sit for hours making ringtones for me and all my friends lol.
this piece could easily fit in many genres, including fusion. you definately have a unique sound..and its terribly refreshing. plus, im also geeked to see mad talented female producers/composers on here.
great track..cant wait to hear more of your work!
seriously...ive GOT to stop ahving crushes on my looperman family members!
this piece reminds me SO much of my own work [that i unabashedly adore] that i cant help but melt right into it and let it take me away. the bassline, as it should be, is the glue that holds all of these lovely melodic pieces together. add to that a perfectly simple drum and decending 'synth'...and youve got me.
...you've definitely got me.
the production valus is also on point.
*grins*
i wike eww...a wot. lol
cheers for the much needed inspirado. im just learning how to make hip hop beats [coming from trip hop/classical scores/electronic stuff] and your work is exactly what i need to listen to in order to head in the right direction. ive got a lot to learn from you.
this is a scorcher...gotta take off my shirt while i listen to it...again...and again...
uber kudos!
awe, this is hip hop all the way...electronic influence or not. this beat hits so hard. love the synth work. and the menacing low strings in the back are divine. great lil accents perfectly placed thru out.
kudos on this one...bangin' beat!
this beat is naughty, flat out. im sure the flow is great too, bt i find myself being lost in a wicked meloncholy melody and some perfectly simple drums.
great job on this one!
this is indeed a fun piece. the drums are divine and the horns so sublime! i have no idea how you manage to paint such a clear picture of this ride in my head. slap's line ever present like the miniature landscape whizzing by below. oooh...and the flute like a playful butterfly flying beside waving 'hi'...so much to see on this magic carpet ride. i want to fly again and again.
i have much to learn from you. uber kudos and cheers for the ride!
Thank you..I've got to say being able to collaborate with Slap is one of the great pleasures I've come to enjoy on Looperman....meeting people and grooving with them artistically is so......civilized...I love it!..cheers planet :)
the ebb and flow of this piece is mesmorizing...it almost immediately takes you out into the middle of the sea, to bobwith the waves in a tiny vessel. its only the certainty of her voice that reassures you you wont capsize...
this is such a neat piece. the production value is out of this world. ive never heard levels so beautifully balanced. kudos to both of you. cant wait to hear more of your work!
Thank you very much....after a bit of thinking about how to handle Vanessa's voice I decided on a very minimalist approach....all the nuance and expression in her voice and the simple but beautiful imagery she encapsulated didn't need much improvisation from me....it's such a shame that we all have to grow up and in many ways leave those innocent visions behind..cheers planet
the right artist could KILL this track. its really solid. love the ascending synth. the horn break is perfectly placed. great drum, hat and cymbal accents thru out.
great work...cant wait to hear more from you!
wow. what a well put together piece. this flows so smoothly from one transition to the next. beautifully simple melody thats in your head before you even have a chance to know it was there. amazing synth work. skillfully mastered.
job well done. kudos!
i am familiar with this photo...and i think you captured its mood beautifully in this piece. so expansive! its weird, because before listening to this piece i always found that photo to be so lonely...perhaps its the lone horse bathing in a tiny sliver of sunlight. but now, looking at it while i listen to your track, the mountains seem so very massive...so powerful. its a truly stoic piece. well done!
Your review made me look again at the picture and I can see what you mean about the loneliness. I like to imagine myself there and I had a mix of emotions as I thought about it. I focused on the initial peace and then the majesty of the mountains in the song but I think there is the element you are talking about too. In nature, there is a certain amount of peace as well as tragedy in the loneliness you can find there. Thanks for helping me see that picture in a whole new way. It really got me thinking and challenged me to look below the surface as I look for inspiration for music. Thanks for the review- it means a lot coming from an artist whom I respect greatly. Kper
*sigh* these drums are...wowzers. i really love this piece. it reminds me a lot of my work...if my work was beautifully mastered and arranged lol.
cheers for the much needed inspirado...and kudos on a great track!
your description is so very apt for this piece. i agree that this song is terribly epic, which is why it would also serve well in the cinematic category. really great work on this one!
Thanks for taking the time to review. I guess the metal aspect of it keeps me from putting it in the cinematic but maybe I just need to get over it. :-) Thanks again. Kper
well, i reckon this is REALLY good for a first attempt at a full length song. despite the difference in temps, you managed to quite tightly fit together the beat and vocals. this is solid. kudos!
...melting...
this is so "driving across country, head out the window taking in the fresh air and diverse landscapes. its a musical sigh. LOVE it. uber kudos on this one.
everythings already been said. all thats left is to say this is a great track. vocals and beat are beyond solid. the rap is great, too. nice work...and yeah, Stephanie, i would love to work with ANY of your vocals. i think i could do them justice. i'm gonna go find you on myspace. :)
