Hi nubud, nice one; you could add a nice floaty guitar to go along with the rest of the sounds.

on Mole People by theHumps
Hi TheHumps, this is nice, really smooth; really great use of the drum loops, really good selection and variety. It actually didn't feel at all weird (genre). It's smooth, I thought of triphop as I was listening. The only element that didn't really fit (to me) was the vocals; I felt like the drums were driving the vocals rather than helping it, and vice versa. It doesn't feel it has a theme. Thanks for sharing. Hope your back isn't something too serious and you're better.

Thanks! Life long back prob that flairs up occasionally, I'll live. :)

I guess without the vocals there isn't much of a story. The effects on them were there to help set the atmosphere and overall feel of the track. Appreciate the feedback!

on Chill Boom Bap Beat by LooseChange94
Hi DeluxeImpala1031, just wanted to listen to new tracks uploaded--by anyone; I think you have a nice beat going and a nice bass as well. I'm confident this would sit nicely with a vocal to complement it. Trying to put my head in yours, I think it's also a nice chiller just to listen to as well. A little more work to add some more bass notes/variations + perhaps a break loop to give it a little boost. You have the right framework and it sounds like you're on the right track. Thanks for sharing.

on The storm by jesse22
Hi jesse22, this sounds like a little story. Piqued the interest; I like all the radio sounds and emergency broadcasting system voice. I wasn't too fond of delays on the voice though, the doubling feels off for what is happening in this intro. I got the sense like I was in a hangar of some kind running toward an exit while the emergency system speaks and sounds blare. Levels could be brought up a little bit.

on I Dont Mind by toastedavalanche
Hi toastedavalanche, oh, I wished you could have loaded this on 9/22 which is the official "end-of-summer" day :) Timing would have been perfect. Really chilled track, great voice, nice guitar, good progression, I like the use of the tamborine, it comes in at the right moment to give the track the right boost with the vocals; and even the whistle was timed well. Only thing to me is that...due to the way pop tends to be structured, I felt I like I was listening to a version of some other pop song. This is not to be interpreted as negative.

on DJ Alvin - Active Trance - Extended Mix by alvinproductions
Hi alvinproductions, this is really classic; I think trance is the one genre where you can drive it almost 9-minutes long and it won't feel that way at all. The bassline and synths keep it moving and the changes throughout makes half the track go by in a flash. The only thing is that it feels like you have 3,4-5 tracks running back to back. It doesn't have a "trance theme" if I can word it that way. There's no main melody that connects the basslines or gives the track a signature sound. At 4:21 or so I thought It was going to get there but was somewhat short-lived.

on Untitled by SpeakUpProd
Hi SpeakUpProd, I really like the vocal sections that come-in every now and then, that adds some really nice character that really sounds good it adds air to the track. Only thing is that I want to hear more of that voice now. Drums sound really good too, pretty clear, good snare to me. I can suggest a bit more structure; the track feels lengthy despite being 3mins; my short attention span mostly; but some variety would be nice with the strings in the back and drums, give the track a theme. "Burn our Love" sounds like the right title :) good work.

on Failed to be a Rockstar loader by traz75
Hi traz75, pretty little tune; I haven't heard any of the loops you used but everything seems to have been well selected, all sounds mesh with each other quite well. I have never heard Fusion but this is great. Nice metallic sounds, cool melody. Pretty generic at times, especially when it cycles back around after the break. I think this is ready for vocals :) good job

on Mr Right by topclass
Hi topclass, listened to this one several times, I really like the intro chords and the booming drums; it flows really nicely when the vocals come in, too. I like the minimal transitions as well, it keeps interest. Really nice 2:40s; Only thing I really wanted to change a bit was the main lead which plays almost throughout, I felt it could get a second section and the notes changed a bit to add some variation to it.

on How do you Like your Love - by Mr Axel by MrAxel
Hi MrAxel, I actually heard your track yesterday; but decided to listen a few more times again today. I really like the various sfx that occasionally transitions the track; the sounds are all pretty crisp and the track is quite chilled but also moves, I give that to the nice keys. A really good listen for my morning. Only thing for me is that it did get a bit repetitive, as the main keys and drums go for a while. A little change somewhere to divert a little while keeping the theme consistent would be good. Keep up the great work.

Hi BananaLu, I think your vocals go really well with the target music. It compliments the vocal's melancholic sound.

on A sea of stars by sirefox
Hi sirefox, such great introducing sounds, that distortion sounds great and then the Vocal comes in...a sweet addition. But I missed to hear more of it. I thought it was moving toward a combination of both but then the vocal leaves off and never returns, except an occasional "oooh" toward the end, but the subtle in/out of it sounds excellent, nonetheless. Of course that guitar is the meat of the potatoes :) Sounds good; I was thinking that the guitar could use a delay; In my head I heard the ending notes just tailing off enough to fill in some areas. I would experiment, sounds in one's head doesn't always translate well and placing words to describe it is not really all that effective as well. Good subtle drums, no hats? I was considering that the beat sounds like a break, and you can add some of those "ghost notes" (as they used to be called a long time ago...) between the snare. It will fill the area in a nice way I think. I'm not working on anything at present so I'll be around and listen to more. Keep it up.

on Venting by CNI
Hi CNI, I actually listened to this a few days back; I really enjoyed how the track is introduced; the horns together with the way the drums flow really sounds great. Only thing is I could not make out certain sections of the vocal. The doubling makes this an issue I think. For example, between 11s and 20s the vocal is really clear, but once you start the main area it gets a bit unclear. Also, I wished it was longer. :) good work.

CNI replied 5th Sep 2021 - 5 years ago
Cheers for the critique , I have zero experience with audio and no knowlege of music really, but I was discussing with my bro about finding a different instrumental and doing a full track , I literally wrote this on way home from work in about 5 mins so. Is what it i. Thank you for pointing out about the Audio I’ll go back over it. Bless to you man

I saw this video where a few guys in disco clothes squeezed themselves into an elevator that was styled disco and danced wildly in there. In fact, that's what inspired me to write this track. It's nice that that's how it came across to you.

on Deep jungle walk by sirefox
Hi sirefox, I've heard a few of your items and I have observed them to be really chilled, happy, and overall good listens. This one is no exception, I don't grasp what a house rack should sound like and these days genres are really bad labels ;) I would actually say this is more of a trancer than a houser. In terms of this piece in some detail, everything actually sounds really good, nothing overpowers, all the instruments come in nicely, fair balanced; however, a little "thin" and "dull" throughout. The claps could come in a bit more, perhaps even the hats, just a tad so they can be heard a bit more; currently they feel less part of the track even though I know there's an accented hit there; Or adjust the bassline a little to make room. The only other thing is that I was really waiting for the melody to divert a bit by 2m:20s or so, so that when you come in again at 2:50s, as all these instruments come together so nicely there I thought the opportunity is there to add more :) I'll be sure to comment on other of your work as well. Keep it up.
