Top notch work , love the subtle touches you have made to the track, I've yet to listen to it on my big speakers but rest assured when the little un's in bed I'll be plugging those boys in and listening to this loud with a nice glass of something cold!
thanks listeners
thanks mostly-,sn76.
track is a pleasure to work with.nice sounding synths throughout.
could do many different versions of this...structural reworking or more basslines..??but maybe "less is more" too?
i will share a drink, from the other side of the planet!
You've got some classic breaks going on in this tune. Reminds me of a lot of stuff on dread recordings yonks back, the use of a heavy break for a bar or so, then a softer one especially does... good oldskool sounds, enjoyed it.
ah yes massiv dread influence over here in OZ.

Definitely to be filed in the intelligent d and b category, there's some cracking atmospheric synths in this, really chills u and takes u away... smokers rhythms definitely!
Bit of a nod 2 the old skool with that hi pitch snippet over the break... love that sound, so damn well mixed, got me envious, envy's an ugly emotion ,or so my mum said!Damn inspiring stuff I'd liken it to Stakka and Skynet , trust me , praise indeed .... finish it!
I can hear the similarities, thanks for the comparison, though I had no idea who they were up until a minute ago when you told me, haha. Listen man, practise making something that you like: if it feels bad somewhere or lacking something, DO SOMETHING TO IT, I remade, stretched, distorted, phased, unisoned, eqed, and many other things to that bass before I went anywhere. I wanted it to rock it at the second drop (with an awesome drop yet to come). Just remake it if it doesn't seem right, let your ears talk to you and your soul do the rest. :)
Tis what I do.
ANwyays thanks for the words, appreciate it man, I'll check out one of your tunes. :)
Steve
You're bang on trend with this drumstep sound, suits you mate,I may try to make some myself, seriously the best thing you've done, 4 me anyway, inspiring stuff.... heres to more, checkout my latest "Drop It remix" if you find the time
Nice work, good lyrics from chase riding over Rolla g at his best , damn good work... love d and b hip hop fusion myself, I was bound to like this if it was any good, which it is
This is a nice smooth piece of liquid d and b, the beats are eq'd well with the tune and the melodies work well, ok it doesn't break any new ground but it's a solid example of the genre, uplifting stuff, well done with this one!
Uh huh, loving this one, mister... great atmosphere @ the beginning , great tone to that snare drum, reminds me of early neurofunk artists like stakka and skynet... check em out if you don't know their work... this is the first D and B tune to get under my skin in a while ... for that I salute you..
The sound quality's not the greatest to be honest. The intro doesn't seem to blend with the beat properly and neither does the bassline... but that said it's a good idea .... keep working at ur music ... you should have heard some of my early efforts !
This rules , the backing track reminds me of "We r siamese if u please!" from Lady and the tramp! Thev rapping compliments the track perfectly and this must be some of the best hip hop I've heard on this site... keep it up
Got to say how much i enjoyed listening to this chilled track. Sometimes d and b tends to be all about the aggression and it's great to hear a mellower approach, will crank it up and listen when my son's not sleeping and tell you more thoughts....
Glad you enjoyed it man, it is sometimes tough to make the simple yet mellow/laid back tunes because they take a while. Though, honestly, this took less time than most of my tunes.
Some people say that DnB is good for children they like the fast pace, lol, I dunno.
I'll hit one of your tunes up!
Steve
This is good but that synth sounds rough and distorted and ruins the mix, kill those unruly frequencies amd it'll sound so much better, thanks for sharing and it's a great slice of modern electro that's worth spending time tweaking.
Yeah, it's good on your part... like you say the autotune needs to go,maybe get a version of the acapella without it? I really don't like that effect. Shame , bet i'd like it otherwise.
It's a good example of jump up , it's not trying to be the most intelligent take on D and B but in terms of battering u about the head with harsh beats and basslines this is hard to beat. Love the sample even though it'll win no prizes`for originality. That said I enjoyed the listen for sure...
Subliminal stuff, so moving and well produced. I respect anyone who can make good liquid cos it's a style I cannot write. This deserves to spread wider than just looperman and I urge u to get it out there. Maybe checkout my latest "Man ha Ganja"If u like.
you're too kind man! But thanks alot dude, always gives me a buzz to read a cool review! I've already put this up on youtube and such, apart from that and looperman, I dont see how I could spread this wider...looks like they're just going to have to come and get it, or know where it is in the first place heh! Thanks mate!
Be proud of this track DV8, it's so uplifting and well produced, everything's just how it should be , you've nailed the liquid sound... I'd get this one out there , it's that good ... Faved.
damn you guys just playing with me or what? Heh no matter though, I'm doing what I can with what I can to get it "out there". Can't play live here coz no one listens to drum & bass where I live.
So yeah, thanks for the encouragement and a very cool review. Stay cool bro!
Nice work, smooth drums nice fx and frenetic jazzy sections that u get away with suprisingly well. I would go for a half time dubsteppy section that often works in this genre, and don't fret over the drums they sound sweet enough to me... finish this I'd like to hear a finished version. Really enjoyed the fading intro draws the ear. Congrats.
Judging from the reaction I've got from the drums (in terms of it bieng a positive reaction) I might now leave them as they are, rather than replacing them I might just add some extra drum layers.
The jazz part was just too much fun, I want to now learn how to play it so that I can do it live (seeing as the whole song was just me clicking and dragging notes).
I'll post in the forums when I update the track, so keep an eye out for it.
