A strange heady mix of elements and sounds in this - interesting good stuff and mallett percussion always gets my vote!

on The Black in Blue by Planetjazzbass
Ther's almost an african vibe to this. Some of the bass playing here reminds me a little of Tribal Tech's Gary Willis - super collab!

on The Ceiling by Howard
Nice funky number - the sounds are contemporary but it definately has an 80's feel to it. good one!
Howard
Howard replied Unknown
If you heard the original recording from back in 85 (OMG - 20 Years Ago!) when I used a Roland JX-3P for all the keys you'd really think it had had an 80's sound! :)
I'd post it if the recording...er, rather the programming wasn't so bad...lol
Hey! I like the K.Crimson Avatar!

on rEvolution 3 - Forming Solid Bodies in Water by n0mad23
Some interesting sounds here. The imagery this conjures in my mind is a kind of brief synopsis of the history of machinery - from 18th century steam power to genetically manipulated and "purpose grown" bio-mechanics. In fact Bio-mechanoid would have made a good alternative title.

Consistently you are a great listener! I'm astounded that you hear the conceptual things I'm both drawing from and making a nod at. This really is a piece about interpreting Nature's Machinery with the limitations of human experience. We create things in Our Own Image. Thanks for such a profound and insightful review! You've got to be a good reader, too - you keep it grounded in the text!

Reminds me a little of Keith Jarrett (just have to pinch myself -this is Looperman I'm listening to isn't it?) Great use of dynamics and kettle drums to boot! - great track!

Hahaha, there is no greater compliment you could pay me than to liken ANYTHING about my music to the grand master himself Mr Jarrett

An interesting ode to that special (someone/something) in your life. This almost reminds me of some of Rodger Waters acoustic tracks on the "wall" album. Good clean fun & nice work.

on The after party chillout by HustleUnion
Interesting mixture of sounds in this - African percussion with that lovely Rhodes sound and the wah guitar makes for an unusual combination - good piece of experimentation. Took me back to the 70's (my spiritual home). Nice work.

i like the organic 70's sounds not to electronic and very familliar. the bongos are the selling point for me too. thanx for the review and the listen

Thanks for your review man. I don't have lyrics for this one yet. Not sure where to even start. Maybe it's not possible. Parsons doesn't always use vocals. What do you think, any ideas?
Take care Gord
