haha, I think I'm with djdaddio. Damn man! Everything you do is good, all the time. I really do think your music transcends Hip Hop though. I can always other themes and other tempos and other pitches (mine of course) in your music. Let us know if you get tired of all the reviews... :P
Gonna download and add to my Dusthill library.
Hi Aiden,
I was also thinking I hadn't heard from you in awhile. Looperman community loss imho and my loss too. But you're back and a nice one track too. Uplifting. A lot of your pieces are and that's nice. Well produced as usual and a compelling melody. Gonna have to download this, ouch! just noticed, no downloads. :(
Hey Koble, nice to hear from you again :))
Thank you very much for the review.
When I go away for a while, I come back wiser ;) My achilles heel is mastering so I asked a good friend/producer of mine to learn the mastering basics so...
And what I know(still learning), I will share with others and especially with great people like you mate!
Grtz Jan
PS: I'll send you the mp3 if you like but don't copy it please...
This is a nice piece. Almost mesmerizing. The pads makes it so. I'm not sure it's Dance and it's not exactly House either, kind of in-between. Lots of the music here on Looperman doesn't always fit into a neat slot (which is one of the things I like about this site). Good stuff mate.
You keep making the great stuff and I'm gonna have to keep reviewing it and saying it's great. Now for some critical review. This track is mastered better than ones before. It's got a nice mix. I'd probably add a touch more compression personally and punch up the bass and the percussion just a touch. I do especially like the clarity on the piano though and I wouldn't lose that. Now also these tracks as you've indicated are kind of set up for a vocal in that they don't have a solo instrumental line on top of everything. In my mind for instance I was adding the solo instrumental as I was listening to it. So for instance you could make this a non-vocal piece in it's own right if you chose. There, you asked for feedback and that's my take. As it is it is still a great signature Dusthill melody and mix. Very listenable. One of your great strengths Dust. Keep em coming.
hell yea kobeey now this is sum proper feedback I can improve of thxxx I see what I ca do on the next tracks as Im livin in an appartment I cant always turn the speakerz up at 11o clock in the evening when I wanna do the bass mastering it takes about 5mins and my crazy neighboors are running trough my doors "lol" anyway thx again for the good description! appreciate you time to write reviews! keepup cheerz dusthill
Pretty little piece. Always very listenable and ready for vocals as you said. It has the Dusthill signature sound and that's always a good thing. Always listening...
Damn good Dembow! Always interesting. Very fun track. Upbeat. Had to download it as usual. Curious as to what setup you use? Do you make your own sounds or use libraries? Always good. I like your stuff girl. :) Mas! mas! (Did I get it right?...lol)
This is a nice piece jfw. Very pleasant and easy on the ears. I've been meaning to ask you btw are you a big King Crimson fan? Your logo kind of says it all I guess but maybe you just like the art? I can't quite put my finger on it but I feel I've heard this style of music before somewhere...just can't place it. Interesting.
I like this one Spiv. It's interesting and unusual. Not a traditional Trance (with sweeping synths) or Techno with a pounding beat but it's very melodic and yes I would say Techno/Trance. If you wanted to go that way you could make it more tradional I think but I actually like it as is. A breath of fresh air I would say.
Thanks friend, I'm glad you liked it! I was really trying to go with a sound where techno and trance fused comfortably, I think it works pretty well this way. I appreciate your kind words and helpful review!
Hey Dembow, I haven't heard anything from you for awhile but this is very nice. All the Dembow trademarks are here. Sweeping synths. This is more complex than some of your earlier stuff and it's nice to see the progression. Have to add it to my playlist of course. One of your fans. :) Please do more.
Cheers,
-Koble
P.S. Actually have to fav it. Damn good!
thanx koble!
im still very busy at the moment. so, there's gonna be no new song in this weeks. but i'll try! thanx for your always good reviews. thank you! :D

wow the start is bit abrupt but the vocals work well with this piece. You know I love your style of Trance. It's nice to Steph's vocals work so well with this one. Very catchy. A Xtaticauk trademark. I've got so many of your pieces on my playlist man, keep it up.
Nice job Slap. Yeah funky in a big band way. A little James Brown. A little Bootsie. I love the bass. I'd make it a little fatter with some compression perhaps. I want to hear that percussion pop and that bass phat! This is a nice commercial piece(and that's a good thing).
Always nice. Simuliar to the recent pieces you've been doing. Very listenable. Serene in a way. Makes me feel at peace when I hear your pieces Dusty. What's with all the downloads and no reviews? Come on people give the Dust man his due. If he's good enough to put on your iPod let him know he's doing the right thing. (There, my rant is over...lol).
:D helll ye kobeeeey just mailed ya back about that track ya sent me hot work btw! thx alot for the positive vibes man they always givin me a push - one looperman fam
Another Dusthill classic. Tuneful, soulful. You know I've got a couple of tunes based on your work (loops) I haven't uploaded yet but I play them all the time...lol. Always inspiring. I always think my arrangements aren't as good as your music.
heya kobey thxx fam feel ya but I gotta say theres always people that manage to make a complete new arrangment or add even things themselve and make it like a unique track that way that sometime is even better then the original think ^^ thx for the feedback appreciate
Nice techno piece. High Energy. Polished. A Lofthouse trademark I might add. Hadn't heard this one before. I like it. Have to download it and put it on my iPod. Good stuff.
Nice kmy. :) I recognize the underlying loop. I used it in one of my pieces. I like your delivery. I gave a listen to a number of your tracks and I like this best. I'm not normally a Hip Hop fan and so I like this RnB best. It's got a nice beat and treatment. I like everything about this track. It's interesting and original. I'm kind of surprised actually you reviewed one of my tracks. It doesn't seem like your kind of music. By the by, is that kmy as in kimmy or your initials?
Well I can't honestly say I've ever listened to a religious piece but this one sounds nice to my ears. I never realized that some Hip Hop and some Religious pieces have a similiar feeling. Nice backing for the vocal here. Do some more good stuff Tiberious.
I'm glad that it mixed well. It's kind of a mutt when it comes to the genre. But when something fits well together..it fits well together. And I appreciate that you think so.
Wow those subsonics made my bones shake. Very very Cinematic. A mood setter for sure. A perfect film piece for the right segment. You actually wouldn't have to master it much. It's already pretty well balanced and mixed.
Dude...you're the first person that heard the dark heart drum murmurs in this clip..."Very very Cinematic. A mood setter for sure"-- that's what it's all about. Thanks for the review and ...AND the good ears.
Yes there's Donald Fagen in there I agree. Brought back some nice memories. Nice piece jfw. Levels are a bit too low. I had to crank up the phones quite a bit. Modern Fusion for sure. Very listenable and quite nice. Nice drumwork. Actually all the solos are really nice. Loops? or yours? Good stuff.
P.S. Brought up the level? Small changes? Still like it. Very Fagenish and really good. I like the reverb on the main melody. Might try some slight reverb on piano and drums also. Very good piece jfw.
Aw another great Xtaticauk track! Starts out strong Techno though then morphs into Trance. But personally I'd still call it Techno. Maybe it's Tech Trance? I'm gonna have to download and add to my Xtaticauk library. Always good stuff, always pounding.
Oh I wouldn't call this Jungle. Yes it has a jungle ambient background but not Jungle genre. It's actually a very nice ambient piece. Almost jazz since the tempo is little faster than many ambient pieces. I like the chorus. I enjoyed listening to this one. Send us more ambient. :)
Nice cover Lofthouse. Very musical. You've given it a definite lofthouse feel. Tapping my toe. I always liked this piece to start and you've given a nice slant.
Thanks so much for your comments!I would like to do more with song,as I think it is a real classic, and although I will never be able to do it better than New Order,I would like my interpretation of the song to come across stronger.I will be reworking it as soon as i get the time. Thanks for the positive feedback! It helps to hear i'm on the right track..
Oh you did post this one... and it's good! I like your voice Steph. Hell if you had done this one before Britney I'd buy it. Catchy as Hell. I'm no expert on mastering (still learning) but I do think it would be even better with a professional mixing job. Tweak some levels, reduce distortion here and there, pump up the bass slightly, Boom! The next Britney Spears!
Keep singing Steph. Good stuff.
yeah. I need to take a class in home recording and mastering I think! My passion is singing and I just want my songs to sound better! Thanks for the nice comment :)
