Man - no idea how you guys did this so quickly. That's really impressive to me! It sounds great. I'm glad I sit around at work listening to all the LM tracks. I got to hear this song without vocals and I can say it sounds complete now. Good Job to everyone involved!
It's been a blast, to say the least. I didn't leave my desk for like 8 hours but it feels like 2 hours when everything is firing on all cylinders. I couldn't be happier myself. Im glad you enjoyed it!
Pretty cool man! - I like your spin with it. Asociale really set things off within the LM crowd with that track! I'm sure that's happened before but this was my first time seeing that.
Much appreciated, brother. Some vocals are coming next, I imagine that will take it up another notch. When it comes to the increase in collaborations and working together in general on LM, well for a long time, it seemed to me that between 2021 to 2026 fruitful collaborations seemed to have been in decline. When I first joined the community here, it felt like just about every song was a collaboration of some kind. Id love nothing more than to see that again
I would just experiment. I don't know if it's a good idea or not. I think if it was me I would bump it up by 3bpm and see what you think. I could also just be projecting on you. I just dropped the bpm on one of my songs until it felt right. So you should really take everything I'm saying with a huge grain of salt :)
Thanks, James. I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback. It's interesting because Pnnywze mentioned the same thing about the tempo, so I think it's definitely worth exploring.
I'll experiment with increasing it by about 3 BPM or more and see how it feels.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen so carefully and share your thoughts. I really value your input, and it's helping me hear the song from a different perspective.
Richard - It's good to see you back with a new song. I didn't know if you would be able to find the time! Did you perform the music as well?
While listening I did wonder what this song might sound like at a slight BPM increase. Not saying it should be, it's just what ran through my mind. Good job as always! Hope all is well!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. It really means a lot.
I wrote the lyrics and composed the song. The piano part is based on a MIDI file, and the drums came from an FL Studio template, which I then arranged and produced into the final track.
I'll definitely try increasing the tempo as you suggested and see how it feels. It's currently at 74 BPM. Out of curiosity, what tempo do you think would suit it? Were you thinking around 76 or 78 BPM, or something a little faster?
Thanks again for listening and for always taking the time to share your thoughts. I really appreciate it.
Hey Anthony - I've done the same thing in the past (no judgement from me) and what kills me is that it can do it in under 3 minutes where we spend countless hours working our tracks. This is a nice tune and I like the "blow"!
So you understand the feeling of producing a quite professional outcome. I can listen to my melodies note by note, much of my arrangement and sounds, but then high level musicians interfere and a new version of the track is created. This is great for people like me that do not have the way to the professional orchestration and playing for their compositions. Of course we spent lots of time, because we do compose and make much of the orchestration, give a track its spirit and existence and that's why I do not feel I am doing something wrong when I use this high level technology for music production. How should I feel if I used expensive gear of synthesis or sophisticated software for this purpose...we move forward that is all.
Best regards, Anthony
Hi JAI26, sure thing! Thanks! Your Vocal was pretty spot on, I like the way you took the description of the track and used it. I found it quite a clever little thing to do and surprised me if I'm honest!
Brother - I went ahead and did the whole song. It was an honor for me to get to work with such an amazing track and let me just say that now that I have listened to this song at least a hundred times. I think the bass line is where the real magic is. It's the "swirl" of it that sets this track off! - at least for me... https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/263820
Haha thanks bro! If you need the multitrack just let me know via e-mail, I'll send it to you and you can look into it to find this magic ;) But yes, bassline is good, it's a classic reese bass with high freq cut off + saw-wave sub.
Hi - Asociale
I added a few lyrics to your song. I was just messing around but wanted you to hear it. once you listen leave a comment and I will take it down. https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/263799
I really like this one. It's fine as is but I think you should develop it into a full song with lyrics. To me the "story" it wants to tell is about a rainy day and reflecting on something from your past that you would change if you could or something you really just miss...
Bro your tracks don't need vocals. They are that good! I love this one! I'm going to start hearting your tracks before I even listen to them. I really can say enough good things about it. Keep it up brother!
Another good one. Did you play the guitar in it? At least I think it is a guitar. If that's a real guitar that is a really interesting tone you managed to get out of it.
Sorry to hear what you all are going through. I hope that the fact you all made music together brings you comfort as you can always go back and listen to all those tracks.
I really enjoyed the heavy guitar parts! I would love to be able to read the lyrics.
Hello, friend. Thank you for your words. You're right, we made some special music together, and we made special memories, we knew each other all our lives. Its the same with our friend Yungin, who we lost in 2023. The songs where we were lucky enough to have both are now more precious than gold to us. Those songs can be found here, if you're interested. Thanks for the support.
I liked this one RIta. It way easy to just sit back and listen. You should post the lyrics. I always like to read the lyrics as I listen when possible.
It's morning here and I just got back to the cubical to start my day :( This song was actually perfect as I'm not fully awake yet and it's chill vibe works great for a Monday morning. I like what you did here. You played most/all of this right? Well done!
Good Job Richard! Guys I just want to give Richard some real credit. That vocal from my father was recorded in 1997 on a cassette tape sitting directly in front of an amp. Very impressed with how he has the skills to clean that up!
Richard you are turning into the Loop Master my friend :)
I'm honoured you trusted me with your father's recording. It was a privilege to help bring it back to life. Thanks again for your kind words and encouragement. I'm really glad it all came together so well in the end!
This was my favorite track by you two. Id call those sounds the dark bells combined with the complementary "dirty" synth, they really grabbed my attention and had my head moving. Sorry if my sound description's are off. I'm not cool anymore... :)
"Very retro smooth R&B attempt by the old guitar dude..." - Success! Nice guitar playing very smooth, not to much or to little. Great tones on the guitar! It fit the track so well!
Hi James. That is a very generous commentary. Many thanks. Hoping to do a bit of catch up on LM this week and check out what some of you fellow veterans have been up to. Thanks again. Cheers. Ed
Thank you, man! Love that you described it as 'someone coming to whoop up on me', that's exactly the kind of dangerous energy I wanted to capture. And I 100% agree with you and Danke, this beat is practically begging for some wild vocals to finish it off. Appreciate the listen!
Nice Job like always. I enjoyed the energy in this one. I can picture you dancing while singing it!
Can someone explain to me following people on LM. I am following you Richard but I'm not told when you drop a new track. Am I miss understanding what following is...
Thank you so much, James. I honestly have no idea how the LM follow rules work either. Sometimes when I refresh the track section, I see some recent or featured tracks from people I follow, but beyond that I really don't know what it means or what advantages it offers. I just follow people and hope for the best, haha.
I still haven't had the chance to record that song, even though it's written and ready to go. One reason is, as I told you, we're expecting our baby literally any day now. The other is that I'm trying to switch from Adobe Audition 1.5 to the 2025 version, so I've been spending a lot of time watching YouTube tutorials and figuring out the new workflow.
To make matters even more interesting, the Mrs. had an unexpected hormonal moment a few days ago and accused me of spending all my time recording music and watching YouTube tutorials instead of giving her enough attention. She even refused to talk to me for two days! So for now, I'm trying to be a good boy, keep her happy, and make sure she gets all the attention she deserves.
I'm just waiting for her mood to change from black to pink. Once that happens, I'll switch on the mic and finally get that song recorded. Happy wife, happy life, right? Haha.
