This made me smile and bop my head the whole time I was listening. Fun music with a funky groove, and crazy, cool way to study! If I could download it, I'd share it with my daughter who's a high school biology teacher...

OK, I got it now. Sent it to my daughter. Don't know what the problem was before (me, I'm sure). Thanks!

You can download it. Is it not working for you?

Wicked, wicked beat. Kept my blood in line and my cerebellum fixated so that my gray matter could dip in and out of the crazy river of images/sounds racing by, as I could handle it - take a big drink then rest, then another big swig, then rest... With that beat as a backbone holding it all together, somehow combines the primitive with the whacked-out disconnectedness of civilization in all its fragmented disorientation. Now that's sumpn. Hence, the fave.

Weird, crazy, inventive, whack, wayyy deep dubbin', head-boppin', ear-poppin' groove. Wanted to fave it but it wouldn't let me. Hafta try again next time. Glad I stumbled on this wild three minutes.

2 HOURS?! Jeez, all my stuff takes, I don't even know, way longer. That was 2 hours well-spent, brother. Great track. Love the bass and the drums, though for me volume-wise they could come up a level or 2. I want my ears to hurt.

I don't know... your hours must be different than my hours.

Hey man, I really like this. That groaning bass, sounds like a human voice, is awesome. What's here is great, but it doesn't feel complete. Feels like a first movement, and then it's like, ok, no more room in hell, then what? My insides start yearning for you to blow it out with chapter 2, take it to the next level. As I say, digging what's here, but wanting more of the story than an intro... Am I full of crap?

i really appreciate that, i agree that its not complete i have a lot of samples and am still looking for more im just not sure where to go i dont want to rush it and ruin it i had the idea in my head all day so i put his down when i got home i am also trying to write lyrics ,youll be the first to know when it done

I like the longer version better than the shorter, mainly because it's, um, longer. And I'm greedy. You do have a unique sound, man. I listen and I wonder, how is he getting that sound? Same with MGMT's first album - how'd they get that sound? How, I ask you? Haven't heard anything else quite like it; I mean, I'm back to this now, your sound. I get what you said at some point about the hidden melodies; the fact that they're deep in the texture of the sound - not buried exactly, but low-profile - makes one listen harder, engages the ear more. Anyway, I bow before thee and kiss the growly ground.

Me too. The shorter version was an assignment from MMM Ltd. to create a single that could be played on the radio. To answer your question about "that sound" - I think I'll shoot you an email. A manifesto probably shouldn't be posted in a response to a review. Thanks for faving this one - it's an ultimate compliment and nod of encouragement for me.

Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh. Sweet. Man, how I dig the growly landscape with the boppy beat and chirpy melodic snippets bouncing on top. Way cool. The one thing, fwiw, is the first part (dut-dut-dut-dut) of the chirpy bits seems like they could be a bpm or 2 faster somehow; they seem ever-so-slightly labored whereas feel like they wanna be a tad crisper and lighter. Then again, what do I know?

My man, you're the first to spot this slight lag in bpm. Actually, it's deliberate (in this case) as it adds a tension that I felt the piece needed. It's my nod at the limitations of bio-mimicry, and how we'll never achieve the elegance that nature (read biology) does without effort. Apparently, you know a great deal more than you think as you're the only one that's heard the labored part of this. Far out!

on ?*?*?*?*?*?* by dangermouse
This has possibilities. I do feel the drum is overwhelming relative to the melody, especially the droopy descending melody that moves in and out. That's cool stuff but it's buried. Seems to me if raised up above the beat or equal to the beat, wd put some meat on them bones. But then, what do I know? Nothing, that's what.

on LESS OF IT by dangermouse
I like it a lot, what's here, grabs my fat ass and shakes it up, gets my blood jigging around in unexpected backflows, dices up time into odd decimals, what's here as I say, but feels like one layer that wants another layer, bouncing around on top of it, maybe another that slips in and out, frantic fuzz guitar or something, or staccato stabs. Something to occupy the other part of my brain that starts thinking I've gotta pee... As a thought.

Frenchkid, I've listened to 4 or 5 of your tracks and this is my favorite so far. The vocals sound great and well-integrated with the music, and the lyrics are good and melody is hooky. I love the simplicity and cleanness. The funk is hot. This is just personal opinion and probably bs, but I would have liked - sort of expected - a transition in the rhythm guitar for the chorus, a little faster maybe, more dry strumming (or whatever the term is, where the friction on the strings is greater than the sound coming out). That said, I like this so much I faved it halfway through.

-reply to your reply-
Hey Frenchkid, no, sadly, I don't play piano, or anything as a matter of fact. I'd be lost without loops. My friend and collaborator, Lisagaye, plays piano though. She's not a member, but I just emailed her and told her she should join. You can hear her awesome voice on our track "Reaper's Claw" which is on my page. Besides piano, she also plays guitar and violin. I hope she does join so that we can get collabs going perhaps with some of the awesome members like you. I'll let you know.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for this very nice review.I quite agree with you about the variation the song needs at this moment.I thought some keys would be nice on this one,but as I don't play the piano,I thought I might need some help from a looperman fellow, lol. If you play and if you're interested let me know.
Cheers

I thought I was Falling Frogs, but you take the title. This is hot, brother. Music that wells up from the swamp and makes the very mud dance. Musical Intelligentsia indeed. Or, to put it in my language, "YOU ROCK!"

If there's ever a call for quotes for publicity purposes, I'm going to use this one! You're literate, aren't you? "Music that wells up from the swamp and makes the very mud dance." That's absolutely beautiful! Thanks.

Whoa. Dense, many-layered, and yet light as sun sparkling on the ocean - with new percussive melodies moving in and out all the time like a breeze in a field of wheat. OK, mixing metaphors there but that's what it's like to me, an effervescent dance of intertwining melodies. I listened to it on speakers first and then on headphones. Not downloadable? Darn it!

I love your name! I'm swinging to your tracks after this response to check out your work. I really wanted this one to shake up the "World Music" cliche while still keeping it World. I'm glad you hear the movement here, as I really was trying to move continent to continent with the sampling and it took many experimental drafts before arriving at this version. Mega Monster Music has the distribution rights to this one, so I'm afraid it's only available currently for sale. Thanks for the major compliment here!

I dig this. There's a lot going on and yet it all holds together and keeps your attention with the strong groove. Keep that good green lit.
