Mystic intro. Beautiful key progression and the acoustic drums bits during the breaks are spot on!
There's a really great atmosphere in this track, very good work mate!

Heavy track! Dig the horn synth intro and that bass is overwhelming, in a good way!
Nice work with the progression and breaks too!

on Keep it Going by crucethus
That intro is so great and playful. Feels like entering into a amusement park of some sort.
Nice job on blending different styles, dig the guitar sounds much and it fits nicely with the rest.
I like how the track is divided into 3 parts, all very enjoyable and different, but it flows smoothly from one to the other. Esp. like the second part with the gradual buildup.
Great work mate. Really enjoyed it!

Thanks mate for listening and commenting. It was one of my early attempts at using the loops from this site.
I like being able to blend different genres. I feel music is flexible that way.
Cheers

Oh that intro with those chords, nice and dark! Dig the progression with the keys and the little effect in the background, great atmosphere.
Nice breaks with the vocals and the delays are spot on.
It's long but you managed to keep things interesting through the whole track.
Good job.

You totally got me with that orchestral intro, very original! A really great and creative way of making music. The two styles blend perfectly, that's a nice accomplishment.

Nice unique style. I really like that noisy lead synth, good job with the vocals, wasn't expecting that for a dance track.
Great creativity on this track, good job!

on Nature Prophet by Satyagraha
Pretty sick! Dig the break at ~1.20, freaky stuff! Good job with that detuned synth, it's really effective. Great atmospheric intro, feels like entering into a crazy jungle, I'm not sure I want to go in there, but then I can't resist...
Like Spivkurl said, I think there's too much clipping esp. when it gets busy. Try lowering the level a bit and limiting the outputs. The waveform is a real good hint for that.
Great track all the same!

on Things That Have Never Been by StaticNomad
This is magnificent man! I love progressive track like that, length isn't a problem at all, on the contrary! It's like all the instruments have a life on their own and progress and interact with each other. It just evolves so naturally and so smoothly.
Outstanding work. Can't wait to hear the second part!
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 6th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Thanks. Instruments having a life of their own and progressing smoothly is what I aim for. But it takes a lot of work as I don't really plan these things out. It's really a lot of editing of different jamming.

It's mostly long because I keep doing more jamming and recording more material that I feel is good enough to be included. One good part often inspires lots of other new ones on different instruments.

Working this way is awkward and confusing but it also produces loads of strange combinations of notes and sounds that I probably couldn't achieve any other way. And I certainly didn't imagine them, work out how to do them and then make them happen. Lots of happy accidents though no one who's listening knows for certain where they are.

This way of working means that I'm kind of free to record in a very relaxed way, not worrying about getting everything perfect and always doing some improvisational stuff I hadn't planned.

You don't have to wait to hear the full length version, as it can be heard here:

https://soundcloud.com/endlessrotary/things-that-have-never-been

I've been making small improvements to this for the past few days (haven't uploaded it yet) but it's OK now to check out the full thing. Especially as the second half has some of the best and most rocking guitar.

Thanks for your words. Not everyone's into lengthy stuff but I know there are some out there...

Nice one. There's some kind of 90's style to it, I like how you played with the different vocal bits and the panning. The change of direction at ~1:15 is wonderful.
Good job!

Yeah! Cool track very funny and groovy, nice mix of styles. There's a lot going on. Really dig the vocal bits and the big beat. The guitar riffs are a real treat and something you don't hear a lot in that kind of style.

on Song With No Name by TramEF
Nice guitar and bass!! The drums get a little lost behind, could be more powerful with some eqing in my opinion.
But that guitar playing is just brilliant!

Welcome to the loop!
TramEF
TramEF replied 25th Jun 2013 - 12 years ago
Thank you very much!! You are right about the EQ on the drums. I honestly couldn't decide what i wanted to do with them lol. first i was going to use it like a muffled pad going in the background but then i changed my mind and just tweaked them a little. Laziness on my part i suppose. I'm going to redo it when i get my Axe Fx 2;)
