Hmmm, no comments yet? I think this sounds pretty good since you said you didn't use a good mic, and you have a good voice as well. Keep up the good tracks and thanks for sharing with us.
Great job on this track man, I'm a big fan of Ed's music, you did this one justice and them some. As always man, great voice, I'm jealous of it :). Keep up the great work, and great quality, thanks for sharing.
Love the tone of the guitar, this is a really good song, grat vocals and lyrics.. I am having a little trouble hearing the vocals, might need to turned up just a little. Other than that a big thumbs from me.
Hey Randy another great track I always enjoy your songs and the sound quality is always so professional. I work hard to get my sound like this but I always fall short so keep up the good work. I actually just uploaded my second country song yesterday called "A Little Better Than That" I have always loved country been listening for years just now finally started writing and recording tracks that sound more country so listening to your stuff is a good inspiration. Thanks for sharing the track.
Thanks so much for your comments here. I commented on your latest country song as well. As far as my sound quality, it is a matter of what instruments you use and their volume/place in the overall mix. Basically mixing so they each have a say and fit in without overpowering another.
I always have another person listen to my songs when they are finished so as to have another pair of good ears listen to them and make comments as to what may need 'fixing', if anything before I post them.
That is usually the fellow that 'Masters' my songs at his recording studio. He usually doesn't have to do much with my songs, but he makes them 'radio ready' as far as volume and any tweaking as far as getting rid of any booming Bass, and maybe add in some high's with the tools he uses.
Then he compresses the overall song so the volume is steady throughout and radio ready, or up to the Red Book code for all songs.
Other than that, using more than one rhythm guitar is a good idea, such as an Acoustic guitar, and in this case, also an electric rhythm guitar doing more of a vamping sound that adds to the overall feel. Then the lead on top of that.
Many songs in country music also use a Baritone guitar to get that deep low sound. Basically a guitar tuned an octave lower with heavier strings. I didn't use one here tho.
So basically to get a good sound, make sure each instrument you play or add into your mix, is clear and cuts thru when needed. The fiddle in my song was basically all background.
Anyways, I am glad you enjoyed it and I hope my comments here help some.
Speaking on the song not quality this is a great one, I love simplicity of it I think it brings a lot to the table. Keep it up, your song writing has really been improving nicely.
Very nice job on this man, vocals are fantastic, don't worry about this one man, wish I could sing as good as you man. Keep up the good work, this is really great.
Thanks Kyle!! Im working at finishing up the rest of the album which is about 85% done and then ill just have to go into the studio and record it! If you like this, youd like the rest of the stuff Im doing!!
Wow guys, I love this track, going to download it for sure so thanks!!! Simplicitycomplex has a great voice and it really shines through here. Very well done guys, big fav.
Great track man, the vocals are really good, I have seen in the forums where you want to get the sound of the dude from owl city but to be honest what you normally do with your voice sounds great and you should be happy with the sound, stick with what you have. I don't have any tips but I do like the track.
Thanks! I kinda just did my best with them, they're not perfect, but they're the best I could come up with with what I've got ha. I'll be doing a few more songs soon.
Wow man I love this, I like to sing, not the greatest but this is grabbing me. I can hear a melody hope I have some time I would like to work on this. Really great track, even without lyrics this is fantastic. Keep up the creative tunes man!!!
Whoa, very amazing, this track is really great, nice and catchy. Allen playing his electric is always a bonus, I could sit and listen to him play all day, he is amazing. Keep it up good stuff guys.
Thanks, Kyle. I agree, it's really nice to have Allen's solo guitar back in action, he definately makes the transatlantic experience fuler. Again รค, thank you for the kind review. /pmk - TAE
Very cool track, I always love tracks like this, they seem to carry a lot of emotion and have a lot of impact on the listener. I can picture this being something played during a battle sequence in a movie. Great job on this and great playing as usual. Keep it up, I always look forward to listening to your tracks.
Dude this is awesome, love the quality of your voice on this track. Overall a great track, stripped down is always a good choice in my book. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing.
WOW!!! This is amazing, ten times better than the original and by far the best cover I have ever heard. Great job on this, really a top notch productions, music was awesome and the vocals make me jealous of that dudes voice. Keep up the great work, is there any chance I can get a copy of this? Great job!!!

Really good of you to stop by, listen and post comments. Many thanks - it is much appreciated.
Yes, SC has a very nice vocal style and the stems were recorded really well. It was a pleasure working with him on this collaboration.
Thanks again for the kind words.
