I actually was checking this out on your page about an hour ago and my computer, or looperman, went berserk. Nice to come across it again in the featured stuff. Interesting groove. I like it. Maybe a touch of modulating stereo delay on the vocals would add some spice. Oh, saw you were from NoVa. Up here visiting family and I-95 is still a disaster. Worst traffic in the country! haha Keep up the great work.

Very cool. I kept waiting for some giant, fuzz drenched, speaker blowing guitar riffage to kick in, though. :)

Hi.

Yes, I know what you mean about getting some more badass guitar in here and I can hear it myself. I'm sure there are some fine guitarists who would have loved tearing shit up over this sort of groove and vibe.

However, I've got loads of other tracks with big, distorted riffage and soloing in them so I decided that I wanted this to be pretty damn laidback, thought with some added weirdness and unusual vibe from the Eastern playing.

I hope the lack of "giant, fuzz drenched, speaker blowing guitar riffage" here hasn't spoiled the track for you. Just think of it as a deep chiller that isn't ever going to get heavy.

If you'd like to hear just some of my more badass, ballsy guitar playing, try these:

The talent on Looperman is unreal. Love these synth sounds and the way the hi hat is dancing all over the place.

Wow thanks man. Appreciate it. If you put a litlle pingpong delay on the hihat with the pan sliding left to right you create this effect.

Fantastic! Good luck with the contest. I can definitely hear this being played over the airwaves.

A sort of industrial Electric Wizard with The Sword-like vocals. Good job!

This is awesome. Curious to know if you remember what you did to get that 303ish wormy bass line that comes in and out. I still use XP :)

Sorry I cannot remember as it's so long ago. All I remember is it's probably the most challenging thing I ever did with music/sound. Thankyou for exploring my stuff.

At around 2:00, when (what I am thinking was) the distorted cello kicked in, a very cool Pink Floydish groove took over. Very strange, very refreshing. As if Yo-Yo Ma replaced David Gilmour.

Hi.

Yes, a distorted version of the cello riff that began at 1:41 comes in around the time you mention. I didn't just add distortion to the previous one (I do that kind of thing a lot) - I replayed it.

"a very cool Pink Floydish groove took over"

I'm a big PFloyd fan but I'm not exactly hearing their vibe there. Doesn't sound like one of their riffs - probably a bit heavier and funkier than what they usually go for.

I've never heard Yo-Yo Ma's playing thought I'm quite familiar with the name. I'm mostly a guitarist but as I try to learn the cello (3 months so far) I'm trying to use it where I would normally play guitar, which is going fairly well considering I'm only a beginner.

Here's another cello track containing quite a bit of beauty:

Nice one! Same for the rest of your tracks, too. This one is almost hypnotic.
