Cool groove. I like the vibe. It sounds very much like Frank Zappa, I agree with Zank Frappa on Marimabs and general feel. That's a bit puzzling, I see some kind of connection of these two ... oh, maybe just a coincidence.

Never really listened to Frank Zappa intentionally, maybe by proximity. Didn't know he had a marimba player either.

Thanks for the kind words!

Take care.

Wow, a lot of power here. I like that. Pills may be a good idea ... on the other hand: no!

You are a strange person indeed. However, I like your grumpy ways. It's a bit like your music, Unusual. So sack all interns and whip us hard.

I see the connection. The guy who almost stole your name, that "Frank Zappa" person, fought against the PMRC censorship folly.

Reincarnation?

Funny. Sound like watching the snow falling. It reminds me of XTC's "frost Circus" - maybe that's the snow connection.
Very nice and minimalistic.

on The End of a long story by ZankFrappa
It's like switching om the TV and watching the last five minutes of a crappy fantasy movie, getting the impression you haven't missed much. Though I wonder how "Rabbadapdab" looks like and what the all-black crayons are (they have a lordmaster!).

if it is I hope Danke does a version of it, it will be superb, then an Oscar remix might follow,
Thanks Oscar,

At noon under the spaghetti western sun: the Brahms and Prokofjew shootout.

Very cool track, good composing and arranging. Keeps the power through the whole track without using too much compression.

I don't think you've gone too far. But far. A huge stream of musical information, it's like a videogame ad music telling you all you got to know (or feel) about the game in less than one minute - I'd sure buy your game!

Hi Oscar,
thank you, that is an awesome comment and I mean that, you have summed up what I wanted to portray, and you can have the game for free!! thanks so much again Oscar,
very best wishes and speak soon,
Mark

on back into the light by larrywiggles1
Hi! I agree with crucethus abaout the static feel. Hard to say what the reason might be. Maybe the female choir voices ... the male voices sound a lot better (or rather "appropriate") to me. It's different in the interlude 0:50+ tho. Could be the drums at 0:21 makes this part "male", the interlude is "female". 2:00+ is "male" again. Splitting it that way the female part could get a softer, warmer piano sound (the seperatly sold "heavenly grand" patch) with less hammering.
I thought a lot of your arrangement, I believe you could even make two songs from all the ideas. The bass, drums and guitar at 0:25 would make a cool old school "new wave" song. Especially the "crying" guitar tone is very distinctive.

Believe me: you would not like to have my vocals on your track. My, even software sounds far better than me!

Pride is the appendix of the mind. I think I can live without it, but it will hurt a while.

Above that I honestly think every reply here is a valuable lesson, although I don't know for whom - yet.

Ah, sorry. I was talking about a demo version of that Vocaloid software. Is it difficult to use? I hate wasting time on tools that never ever work.

OTOH I could add some vocals to your track - you'd get the song that ends civilisation as we know it.

on March From Hell Remix by Byleth
It's not dubstep but it's ... well ... electronic something.

I used my cosmic powers to generate generic genre-fitting sounds. Pretty tough to figure out what's going on in the original version, gave me a headache.

on I Was Made to Dance by ProgRockDan1
Sounds exciting. If there's a demo version I'd like to try it out.
"Mistakes" - i like them. Random glitches often help me to think outside the box. And even if you do not use them in the final mix - "mistracks" so to say - they often change the direction of the whole song.
In this case it sounds like a song from outer space, because you don't get what language that is and "her" intonation sounds unearthly. You also added some fx, the laser gun like tones etc, while the persussion uses a very straight 4/4 beat. The voice is also a bit creepy. The mixture of all this is just exciting.

CosmicOscar,

Yes, it is demo version. I would love to get new vocals. How would you like to try it out?

Best regards,

I agree, she sounds drunk, but it's clearly on champagne! Very cool mix of different elements, cosmic quality! The "dut-dut-dut-dut" bit at 3:05 is magic!

ProgRockDan1 replied 2nd Jan 2015 - 10 years ago
It is interesting what you intend and what you get. And how the mistakes can turn into magic. I was trying to get her to say dance (rather quickly). I am working on her pronunciation. I thought the accent may add something to the performance.

Warm regards,.

hey cozmic! maybe part of the strangeness is the harmony. I get used to my own nonsense and it starts sounding normal to me! i'm really happy you got into it a little. thanks very much for the visit and comment. later . . . Dan

Very interesting to hear those different versions. I like all of them, they represent different views of the same idea. Impressive!

Im totally agree with you!

I was very surprised than Frottoir decided to make one after lisening my remix and his work is just great and different as mine.

Someone should make a dubstep remix of March From Hell XD
