Very nice, love the melody & groove. I appreciate the fact that you knew when to end it; unlike some others who would've let it run on just for the sake of doing so. Even though they've run out of idea's. D
This is a great twist on a house track. Using a acoustic guitar sample is truly something different, but it works well. I like this a lot, great track dl & faved. D
Hey 88, Very nice track! Believe it or not, to me it sounds more like a "Reggae" track than a "Funk" track. Love all the elements and feel of the of the tune. Great job, faved without a doubt peace. D
much appreciated man, thnx very much for listening, reviewing and fav'n the track, means a lot... ur right it does have reggae vibez in there and like i say i had a lot of trouble deciding what i wanted 2 "market" this song as... thnx agen for the review :)
Hey Dvibe, this is a very nice track! Nice and soulful, like how you arranged it, and of course the slap man is sounding great as ever. At one point I thought you were going to break into a "Berry White" thang. (lol) Great job I enjoyed this a lot, thanks for the heads up peace. D
Wow! Great job, great song structure. I would consider this more to be like "power rock/pop". But since you added the "jazz" section at the end, I would've most likely classified it a fusion track. Nonetheless this is a great tune and you've done some great guitar work on this track. Who knows, I may even take a stab at it. D
As you can tell slap, I must really, really love this track. I can't get the melody out of my head. I forgot to mention the first time around that I loved your guitar & bass work also. drums and percussion is off the hook! Man, just a stellar track slap, peace. D
I say again, what can't you do slap? The track is smokin!! Yeah, it does drift into the pop vain a bit, but it's very nice and your vocals shine on the track. Also the great thing is you can still detect the ska undertones, niccceee! And man do I love your horn arrangements on this track, (I'm a horn junkie to the bone) simply awesome!! Faved no doubt, I haven't forgotten you slap, still working on the track. What I'm trying to do is a old school "jazz fusion" track. (I only hope I can pull this off) I tapped "Bill" to see if he would be interested in laying some guitar and he said he's game. Just need to find a good keyboard player and it's all good. Loved the track slap great job, cheers. D
Awe sulky, sulky now! (lol) another nice track from tha player. I'm shocked that you didn't go with the old-school R&B bassline on this track. The vocalist is great, and I like the song writing as well. I enjoyed it, great job peace. D
Hey Bud thanks for the listen and review! The original was lost long ago with the bass and synths and was upbeat! Did it over with just the keyboard and singer!! Man those were the good ole days for me!! Just a looper now LOL Take care thanks again!!
P.S. If I am not mistaken wasn't the Dells (Stay in my Corner) the first Record on AM to break the 3 minute barrier I think the song ran for 3:07 or 3:14 (Just a ole school fact) LOL Fila
No bass whatsoever. The lows your hearing are the 2 organ tracks. I am waitng on a gtr track from a friend right now then I will mix it better for the master.
Thank you for listening and more importantly, commenting on my track.
Hey P & Slap, awesome track. Always love to hear heavyweights such as yourselves get together on a track, hope to work with both of you. Love the warmth and dare I say it? HUMAN TOUCH that the track provides, awesome, simply awesome. Faved for sure, take care, peace. D
Hey Dennel thank you for your kind review...sometimes when you pick up an instrument things instantly spring to mind..this track is an example of that sort of touch..cheers mate planet :)
Can't understand why there aren't any reviews at all for this track for as long as it's been posted up here? It's really a tight track; though the rock/metal/rap thing has been done before.
I.E. Ice T & Body Count, Rage Against The Machine, and that other group (can't think of their name right off hand) who won the Grammy or Oscar for "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp". the hustle & flow soundtrack (they used to be a morbid dark metal rap act before they were big). Hate I can't remember their name right now, anyway, I thought the track was tight. Peace D
You have a very good ear for arranging. Was reading some of your influences and most of them are mine as well. No wonder your tracks are rooted in what I call the real deal music realm. I see you got the meters on your list, man those brothers are too funky for words. I was just listening to a track by them the other night entitled "Funkafie Your Life." Funk and percussion oozing all over that track, too damn funky. As one bass player to another, excellent job bro. Had to fav & download this track as well, peace. D
Again thanks for the listen and review!! Glad you enjoyed this one!! Any one that mentions "The Meters" knows we are talking bout some nasty percussion/Bass --Yea - getting ready to cross that 60yr dash line -- you know I go back to the day of the Transistor Radio LOL To me it was all good music with a basic structure with many a hit at 3 minutes or less. Think I will pull out "Sissy STRUT" and give a listen - might set off some good vibes!!! Thanks again
Sweet Track!! Solid construction, great composition, very nice melody & arrangement. All around stellar production, faved & downloaded for sure. Great job, peace. D
Thanks for listening and the review!! This one was a challenge just find the right loops to get a flow going! I will make more comments in your other review> Thanks!!
This is very, very good! You have your own voice and the track is every bit as the title suggest. Great production and sound quality. Would love to colab with you on a track at some point. Yucca Valley, isn't that here in California if I'm not mistaken? Thanx so much for the review of my track as well, peace. D
Your flow iz tight, really liked this track, liked how you arranged it and great production over all. Also liked the bass at the end of the track. A classic story of standing up for what you believe in. Great job, peace. D
thank´s for your review. I think I will do a second version with a bass. This version was intended to sound very "lean", like playing around with different thoughts ...
Beautiful Song. And no you don't need to get a life. You know, I find we as men, (especially during this day and age) sometimes let our machoism get in the way of being human. And we either A: end up losing the ones we love and hold dear, or B: end up missing out on life altogether. So, if you got something you gotta let out, let it out. Great song, great vocals. Peace, D.
