on Shield Of Fire - M RT N remix ft the Dragon by M8TN
Sorry my mistake. I saw the name BillyDragon and thought you were the dragon.

I think the synths need to have a more fat sound(bigger sound), so if I were you, then I would put more synths together to create that effect. Like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YhGzGrFigM

on Shield Of Fire - M RT N remix ft the Dragon by M8TN
It sounds alright, but I would layer more synths together to make a fatter sound, otherwise it will sound a bit weak.

Do you shapeshift haha? I'm Rh negative too.
M8TN
M8TN replied 17th May 2014 - 11 years ago
Im not sure what u on about! :) I think I'm ok for antigens (?)
Thanks for the feedback, that's interesting. Do you mean the eq is no good? If I increase low tones it sounds better on my laptop speakers, but not on hifi. There's a few synths in there.
Should you have the time, I'll appreciate if you show me what would make it sound stronger:

on Freedom - Luizor EIM by Luizor
Maybe Tumbleweed is right about the kick is to hard. I will also suggest you use more kicks. It sounds good to use more kicks or snares as the same time.

Just a practical question. If I manage to get the song I'm working on on the radio would you be cool about sharing 50/50 the royalties?

I'm in contact with a guy that runs a dance/house station and he has already put one of my songs on the music rotation from Sunday midnight.

on Freedom - Luizor EIM by Luizor
It sounds good! I'm already working on one of your songs. The chorus sound a bit like Timberland - The Way I are.

I think, it will be a über good mainstream hit song.

I think it is too long and should be around 3 mins. More is not always better. Maybe add another kickdrum too where you play your snare, so it is kick, kick+snare.
Luizor
Luizor replied 16th May 2014 - 11 years ago
thanks :D, ill try and shorten it buy cutting off the repeated chorus hehe and ill try that about putting a kick when i play the snare :D ill make sure to make it sound better in the album version :D once again thanks a lot :D

on when U laugh by deciBel
Dear DeciBel,

That is really really good! I especially love the drums and the mandolin.

When I listened to the track I could hear a song unstop of it. What if you ask some of our singers to sing to it?

I will suggest that you watch the youtubes(they are not that long, because loudness in todays music is like the emperor's new clothes.

It is insanity(2+2=5). I have done it too, so I have to unlearn it. If you understand the importance of not doing it, then you music will sound better than those that do it.

I'm Danish/Italian have lived in Copenhagen most of my life and around 9 month in Rome.

I like what you have done. Nice beat.

If you want to bring your beat to life then I will suggest dynamic range:

If you want money. Learn the mindset of the rich:

Read listen to Robert Kiyosaki - Rich dad poor dad.

Napoleon Hill - Think and grow rich

And books/audio books like that.

About dynamic range: I know what you mean, but loudness is too much important in modern music (unfortunately).

Yea I know I prefer the dynamic sound too but I just ran this through ozone. only reason I can figure they make music that way now is because of all the mobile use with headphones but then again that doesnt make sense either lol

on First hardstyle attempt by L0neW0lf
You got some nice thing going there. Next step is to not over compress your music what is taking the life out of it.

You might also focus on not playing your music so loud that it gets distorted. You probably like the distorted sound, but it should not be done like that, because it is painful for the ear when it is clipping.

Research dynamic range and you will improve big time with few easy tweaks:

on Circles Never Open by Mosaic
Sounds alright. I would lower the drums so they are not that dominant because she has a lovely voice and it has a strange energy with so dominant drums. But that is just me.

Why not let people download the track? At this step we all need promotion and one way is to give away for free.
Mosaic
Mosaic replied 14th May 2014 - 11 years ago
Hey man

Thank you for being the first to review this one, been bit of a mongrel to get right, will have ago tomorrow with drums down, if sounds okies will upload again, thinking they are close to right, but maybe could go down a little...

On the downloads, don't allow downloads of my tracks, firstly had a couple of members remix without permission a few years ago, so stop leaving tracks open to download, unless most of the loops are from here then will leave open, Secondly not really in it for promotion as such, mainly making for a charity album for sick children when have enough decent tracks and myself when playing at home, that's if I'm ever good enough at making tunes for album it will get done...Time will tell on that one I suppose...

Again thank you for the review man, so appreciated...Peace n Respect....Mosaic....

on Synergy - Feat Sanna Hartfield by TCAS
Well done!

I'm not sure, but do you cut frequencies in the low end to make room for the kick? Because if you don't the kick will sound a bit weak.
TCAS
TCAS replied 14th May 2014 - 11 years ago
Thank you,
I did cut the frequencies on the kick and the bass.
The kick was cut at 40hz 6db slope and the bass at 50hz with a 24db slope.
I think I used to little compression in de sidechain.

Thanks for your listening ear!

on 15 Minutes Isnt All We Can Have by MOONLYTE
I will just be totally honest and direct.

It was a nice verse. It has a good melody and builds up to a chorus, I think it sounds good. You need to come up with a better chorus, because that just sounded like noise to me.

I think, the song has potential, if you make a nice chorus!

I will also suggest you research Dynamic Range. You can bring your music alive this way. It is very easy to do:

on See Under Sea - Feat Sanna Hartfield by midiman007
Nice track.

I will suggest, you work on the frequencies because in the beginning of the track I could hear some very high frequencies that hurt my ears. Research frequency sweeping and also cut the lower frequencies so the bass/kick does not sound muddy.

The clap is probably to high on the mixer, so it gets the pumping effect. I will suggest, you put a compressor on the clap to boost it, and then you can lower the clap level on the mixer, because it will sound louder.

Much respect, wasn't mad, just stabs taken when one can't see whose is on the other side leads to miscalculations. I love this site and the people on it, simply because we offer and learn from one another, and yes we take jabs at each other and it's nothing because we still have the music... So please help me with things I don't know, and I will offer you answers to things I do know.... peace and much success!

You are right about music does not have rules and yet it does. It is a paradox. You build up the energy, and I was looking for the release of energy with a great chorus that did not come, so it made me feel extremely frustrated instead.

Be careful not to use the "no rules" as an excuse of not deliver a great chorus, so you could make this a great hit song.

The road to hell is paved with excuses of not deliver a good chorus!

Classical music has structure too and nature: http://www.demilked.com/amazing-nature-patterns/

First of all the road to hell is littered with crooks and thieves, such as this nation is built. Assume not whom are what is opposite these keys, for you know not my successes or failures, only the tidbits I offer here. I never intended a sparring match, only to enlighten you...but yet, fear not never will my lyrical ability or my tact for song creation be challenged by anyone on this site or this lifetime. The biggest lies in life are always placed right in front of your face. I am here to learn things I don't know, not things I have mastered! EQ, Mastering, Keys to vocal rendering, etc etc

I like this one. i started to turn up the volume and really get into it, but I also got frustrated. It was like having sex with a beautiful woman and then right, where I would get an orgasm nothing happened. I thought this song would explode into a totally amazing chores/hook around 1:20. I was fired up and ready to go. But where is the super amazing chores/hook??

The singing needs to be worked on too, then this could be a hit song for sure!
TuneDef
TuneDef replied 12th May 2014 - 11 years ago
Fortunately enough I realize music has no structure, and that you'll been spoon fed the commercial version of the process..
but please be advised I excel in many genre of lyrical penmanship..... I appreciate you listening and commenting, this site is about growth and not locking ones-self in a box!

Thanks again - You may ascribe more sophistication to my producing ability than I'm due. I watched most of the second video and it was helpful. Like I wrote below, I'm just a duffer lining up loops - hopefully in unique ways but I mainly produce by ear with minimal changes to the loops and virtually none to the master or effects. This will help expand my horizons of the possible. The loudness wars were not even on my radar so I've learned something new about production.
