I love what you've done with the samples. Rather than trying to shoehorn all of them into one track, you've created something both fluid and cohesive. I agree that the song is chill out, but it also gives me a gentle feeling of melancholy. It's not full on sadness just a dull ache, as if a great joy is just out of reach. Does that make sense?
Anyway, it made me feel something. And that's the sign of good musicianship.

Thank you for describing what has been difficult to describe my entire life. There are certain sounds when I would hear them even as a boy that would make me feel this immense not quite sad feeling but almost a longing aching for something or someone from the past that you had lost. not quite loneliness, not quite sadness, not quite grief. but its that feeling in the side of your ribs when you ache with despair for some reason. That signature Pad from ED makes me feel that way when I hear it. it's almost a melancholic-nostalgic ennui feeling that I am sure another language than English could describe better. For me that was the starting point. to build around this" feeling" with changing percussion and other worldly vocals that reminded you of Late sixties star trek theme or the psychedelic movement out of SF. Thanks for pointing out what was hard for me to pin down in this tune. Thats the sign of great ears my friend.
Cru
Wonderful move Steve to pay a tribute to one of the greatest musicians around here (and there) with this kind of musical idea. You deserve big compliment for that. I'm proud and honored being able to make collabs with someone of Ed's caliber and to enjoy a great friendship. You Canadian boys are really special..:)
Welll...this was a big and most pleasant surprise my friend...I`ve been away from the loop most of the year..just checked in today to catch up with a few of my favs....amazing to hear what a talented musician can do with some of those loops ..posted partly to vary a little from my more usual guitar & bass noise...and most of them were created by my old Alesis QS6 (sample based keyboard) from the 90s....Love what you did here...fab track...and my thanks for those kind comments.....Ed
Ed this project has been nothing but a pleasure to do. I fell in love with that pad loop and started off in four different directions with it. this song is the most reasonable approach. Take yourself a bow, you earned it , on this site your Pads and songs contribute to all of us and inspire us to make great music. so chin chin if you have a glass!

Hello Cru,
In it's global aspect, this track is very aerian and really gliding. It's the main thread of this piece. And, Without we expect it, a loop makes its entrance. It creates the break and the moment of its expression move the central line towards something more unexpected, of a little rougher.
As a result, this alternation contributes to capture at each moment our attention and instigates our curiosity. The ingredients of a good piece finally!!
really good track Cru, nice bass (with some sub?), nice vibes and delicious drums line!
During 04:28, i was in a chill out room totally soothing :) thanks!
A big fav for this one

HE Bleep. The fact you point out the aerian sound of the pad is what draws me to Ed's Pads in the first place. They are very complex and sound amazing. With the first pad in the song listening to it gives me this hollow feeling inside of longing for something nostalgic. So I tried to make some of the vocals have a sixties reverb feel (slightly overdriven mike) Sort of Star trek theme (TOS), B52's Planet Claire. to fill that nostalgic hole and yet use moer sounds (Subs, yes) and organ stabs and cool sounding panned drums. This song went through 4 phases but I was happy with the end result.
Cru
fantastic piece of music here...you could be the third member of the Ed-Orlando duel and it'll be a magical band...with the cheap joke: Crulandoweed :-(
all in all, thanx for the thoughts and the song, Danke
This is a one off i'm afaid, nice names for bands though. Crulandoweed flows the best but don't discount Tumbleandothus! I'm glad u liked it my friend.

Ayee I see you, on the Halloween scene already. This track reminds me of this MMORPG game called, "S4 League" The most badass online game, I played it for hours bro, but there were always music when you play, this track sounds similar to the tracks in game. Didn't know It was called Teckno.
Hey Greg, not familiar with your games, per say, but I do know my Techno. You should look into Detroit techno, and Berlin tresor techno. 2 schools of sound that will blow your mind.
Cru
reminds me of a great tune from Judas Preast...Sinner.
Rob sings: "The Sinner is near, sensing the fear
And the beast will start movin' around
Can't you see their souls calling out in their brain
Can't you hear their blood is boiling setting them alight" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrdEuEWBIFQ
great tune, any how thanks for the nice words my friend.
Steve
I agree this is a nice dancy track for a Halloween rave. I am digging the bit of vocal loop you just introduced around 3:14 and i appreciate this contrasting section from about 3:06 to 3:30. You wrap it up with your hard hitting kick which is perfect. Nice work.
I love it Cru !
Foe some reason it reminds me of playing Doom, Duke Nukem or Descent years ago. I think it's Duke Nukems Crackdown theme that I'm thinking of. I loved those early first person shooter games. Yeah very sinister video game theme sounding. Loads of cool atmospheric effects and swirling stereo. Awesome track bro, I totally dig the production on this.
Thanks for the props neo, I never got into those first person shooter video games so i don't know the music associated to it very well. But i trust your musical instincts with my life, you are that good!
Cru
What comes there around the corner? Are that zombies with metal pipes in there hands? Wow, walk much faster then i belied they do. Maybe we better should run ....
Nice one, i enjoyed the listen.
Maybe i find some time and will make also a "Halloween" track
