Thank you so much for your feedback.
That's what I've been trying to do: create something simple that I can use to practice mixing and mastering. Lately, due to problems I'd rather not discuss, I haven't had the time or the mental energy to focus on creating something beautiful. The little free time I have, I use to learn how to use plugins to improve sound quality.
youre learning very quickly. i really like this, llearning from the greats is the way to go. i used to love timbaland until he went all in on ai music, but i digress. solid work. keep it up!
Thank you so much!
Comments like yours encourage me to keep making time to learn a little more. I used AI for the previous song, "Breathing In The Light," to create the voice and be able to say what I wanted. I also used it to convert the lyrics from Spanish to English, but with different words so they would rhyme well.
Thank you for taking the time to listen.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
As you can see, so far I've only tried creating Deep House, or rather Chill House, because it's the easiest thing for me to learn. Other genres seem incredibly complicated. I downloaded an acapella from MansasWorld and I'm trying to create something a bit more pop-oriented so I don't do everything the same. It's a very short track, barely 2:30 minutes, but it helps me continue learning about mixing and mastering, as well as trying something different. I'll probably upload it in the next few days, as soon as I have some free time without a migraine to finish reviewing it.
But any feedback is welcome, haha.
Cheers.
Juan Carlos.
P.S.
I have no musical knowledge, much less sound editing skills. I manage with a circle of fifths to combine chords that sound good, haha, and I play the keyboard almost entirely by ear.
Thank you so much!
My only merit is the music, and the fact that it sounds this way is largely thanks to you all, who serve as examples for me to learn from.
I'm glad you liked it.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
Hi juankar, just tested this purely on my new avantone speakers... It does sound fantastic. Just got to get some additional speakers now to compliment them. The vocal is very very clear to me and so is that synth. I'm lost a bit for words really. Thanks for this, it is refreshing
Thank you so much for your comment.
It means a lot to me that true musicians like you have such a positive opinion of something I created. The vocals aren't my own work; I created them with AI. I was too embarrassed to ask anyone in the Looperman community to do it. I previously used Odarka's voice (which is incredible), but with Odarka, I'm dependent on her lyrics and can't express what I want with my own. The rest is my own creation, very simple, with almost no effects, because I still don't know how to use them well.
I'm proud to have been featured on your Avantone and that you liked it.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
So where are we now? I am listening now in the studio. I have Sony speakers, but I have very special Bose 2.5b angled speakers from 1984. I love the subtle phased pads underneath the tune. Perfection mate. You have done so well on this one. There is a great spread of frequencies from sub to high, and the EQ on them is perfect. I had to Fav this one. Bravo, open up a nice Cava Jaun and enjoy it because you did awesome.
You have no idea how much your comment means to me. The fact that you took the time to listen to my song again in the studio... I'm amazed. And your approval of the equalization and the frequency response fills me with satisfaction. I know I don't have a very good ear for all this, but I do tests and equalization with Sony MDR-7506 headphones to try to get the highs and mids as balanced as possible, without emphasizing the bass because I know these headphones are lacking in bass. Then I listen to it through Adam Audio monitors, and if I like it, I listen to it again, this time with Pioneer headphones to gently adjust the bass. I listen one last time with the Adam Audio and make the final, very subtle adjustment. And if I'm happy with how it sounds on both (headphones and monitors), I consider it finished. Since the speakers have very different frequency ranges, if it sounds good on all of them, it's because the equalization is more or less correct, without being perfect.
This is my method, very rudimentary, but I can't think of any other since I don't have a very keen ear for sound.
Thank you so much for your time and encouragement.
I'll raise a glass to you.
I listened to the unmastered version of this song and needless to say I was really excited to listen to the final version...and here it is!
Amazing work, I like it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to both versions.
I'm glad you liked the final result. I know there's still a lot of room for improvement, but for now, it's the best I can do.
I hope you had good luck with your exams today, and you know what they say... make the most of your vacation to relax, but also to keep studying and learning.
My little one is naturally very active. She was watching a cartoon, but this still drew her attention in...likely because of the beautiful vocals and drums. This is truly beautiful, Juankar.
You have no idea what this comment means to me. I just woke up with a terrible migraine, and you've made my day. To hear that my song caught your little one's attention... it's incredible, because I think children are the purest beings there are; they're unconditioned, they're sincere.
Thank you so much for this joy.
And keep writing the lyrics you do with that rhythm you always bring to your songs; I'm sure they'll be a wonderful guide for your little one in life.
Best regards and admiration for your work.
Juan Carlos
Of course you can use it. I'm very proud that something I created is being used by someone. I'd love to see what you use it for and the results.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Really enjoyed this track.
The melodies feel very harmonic and everything fits together naturally.
Great atmosphere and smooth overall vibe, good work!
Alright, my amigo, you have gotten the spatial mastering down well, now it's about the movement of the sections, at 1:22 we need some sub bass in there, and then at 1:57, it's time to bring the percussion up a notch. That's what moves a song along and makes the listener want to come back wanting more. Very nice step in the right direction. Keep at this one, you have it in the pocket, now make it explode! The key is how do you build it and bring it back down. This song was a 1999 master class in underground deep House in NYC Michael T Diamond. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgjLq9xF8qM
Thank you so much for your advice.
I still have so, so, so much to learn. Every little bit of progress I make takes a lot of time because I can't dedicate as much time to it as I'd like. I live alone with many animals that I take care of, all of which I rescued years ago. The one you mentioned you like (the one in the photo) is called Oso (Bear) because he weighs almost 11 kilos and is the oldest of them all; he's 16 years old. Between taking care of the house and them (medications and everything else), I barely have an hour a day to come here and see what you've posted. If I have a little more time, I watch a video tutorial on mixing or mastering and try to put it into practice.
I saw Michael T. Diamond's video, and it's excellent. I think my style isn't Deep House; it would be more like Chill House, but there's no option like that when posting.
Thank you again for your advice; this is how you learn.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
Juan, this is absolutely magnificent!! It's amazing to me you went from your first track to this masterpiece in 2 months. Absolutely massive, this is radio ready to me - try releasing it to beatport or a similar platform, I think it will do great!!
Hey Baobou! Long time no see!
Your words make me blush, especially coming from an artist like you who even plays live. I don't intend to publish anything I do; it's simply for personal satisfaction and to enjoy learning something I've always loved. Sharing it with the people I care about and with you all, who have welcomed me into your family (Looperman), is enough for me. You were the first to comment and encourage me to keep going, haha.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
Thank you so much, Paul.
Your comments make me happy and encourage me to keep trying. The vocals aren't my own; I had to use AI to be able to say what I wanted. I was too embarrassed to ask the great voices we have here. And if I used an acapella like in the first two songs, although the result is very good thanks to Odarka's quality, I'm limited because I can't add my own lyrics.
I'm glad you liked it. I'll keep working in my spare time to make progress and not disappoint you.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
AMAZING track overall Juan !!!!! Lovely melody lines - lovely orchestration and lovely vocals !!! I have no idea about these mix tools you wrote but .... this sound quality is simply perfect to my ears !!!!! Cheerssssssssssssssssss !!!!!!
Thank you so much for your encouragement. There's practically nothing in the mix, just adjusting volume, panning, and using a plugin called "iZotope Neutron 5 Elements" for some tracks, because I don't yet know how to use reverb, delay, compressors, etc. This plugin makes it quite easy, although the result is far from decent. For mastering, I have tried to learn to use independent tools, which I mention in the description.
The goal is to learn through this mixing and mastering process.
Best regards.
Hola Juan Carlos, that is a really nice track and the beat was wonderful, nice melody and the vocals fit perfectly, good job. De verdad suena muy bien.
Hola Juan Carlos, that is a really nice track and the beat was wonderful, nice melody and the vocals fit perfectly, good job. De verdad suena may bien.
This is the second song I've made to learn, and with Odarka's voice, everything is much easier. I listened to what you posted a little while ago; I thought it was very good. You clearly have talent and a natural talent for this.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
"While AI is becoming some serious competition ;), it definitely has its pros :) Ive learned quite a lot about mixing thanks to Artificial Intelligence. Its a truly great teacher. Not only is it patient and thorough in explaining how plugins and a specific DAW work, but it also reacts in real-time to whats happening on the screen and can provide corrections on the fly. It makes occasional mistakes, but its getting better and better at this role. Were lucky to see it develop during our lifetime :D Its an epoch-making event. I just hope it goes easy on us once it takes over the world :D"
Hahaha, let's hope that moment of dominance never arrives.
You're right that knowing how to use AI can help you learn, almost like having a private tutor. I still haven't learned how to use it by sharing my screen; I'm still relying on YouTube videos, hahaha. But I've seen videos where they use it that way, and it's amazing how they ask it questions and it guides you on how to do things.
I agree with you; we're lucky to live in this era. We can do things that were science fiction until recently. Let's hope it helps us and doesn't complicate our lives.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
P.S.
Since I don't know English, I use a translator, and seeing the translation of what I wrote to you yesterday might be misleading. Where I mention using someone's voice or the AI's voice, it gives the impression that this song was done with AI. That's not the case. This song, which was my first composition, features Odarka's incredible vocals, as does the second song I released. AI was only used for the vocals on the third song and during the subsequent mastering process.
Well, I can finally return the favor. Excellent work! :) Mixing music with vocals is definitely out of my league, not to mention I dont know anyone who can sing well, but you guys nailed it! Its a great example that you dont need 45,000 plugins and synths to make good music..."
If I sing, you'll all have nightmares, haha.
I try to keep it simple, with few audio tracks (8 or 10) and few plugins because I don't know how to use them; I'm still learning. But Chris from LINER FADE explained in his latest track that he used 5 or 6 plugins just for vocals. It seemed super complex to me, so it's no wonder the sound quality he achieves is so exceptional.
You can start like me, looking for acapellas herethere are some really good vocalsor create the vocals with AI, like I did in this one.
For me, the important thing is to keep practicing composing tracks and learning about mixing and mastering, either with vocals from here or creating them myself.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
Thank you so much, Zoot!
It means a lot to me that people have noticed a difference compared to the first version. I spend a lot of time watching tutorials, haha, to better separate the sounds, give them their due, and balance the volumes.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
Thank you so much, Dan!

Comments like yours encourage me to keep learning. I've been trying to make music since Christmas, and one thing I've learned in that time is that we can always improve in music; it all depends on our perspective.
I just listened to what you posted a few minutes ago, and you're creating with your own voicethat's admirable. I have to resort to creating my voice with AI because if I sing, it starts to rain, haha.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
What a great track. Really excellent work. It feels very balanced. To my ears, everything sounds just right. Its a beautiful song, with lovely vocals and great music. Congratulations, my friend Juan.
You're the one to blame for the improved mix and mastering, hahaha, I would have left it as it was, hahaha.
I think I've managed to achieve some of what you were suggesting, opening up the sounds a bit more with the mix and, of course, mastering, which I didn't know how to do. My eyes hurt from watching tutorials to learn.
Since I think you also use Reaper, if you ever want to tinker with it, modify something, or add your own voice so it's not AI, I'll send you the complete project, with all the free VSTs I used.
Cheers and thanks for your advice, Juan Carlos.
P.S.
I'm really looking forward to the Urban Stories album release.
Thanks so much, Anthony, for your encouragement.
