Is this drum and bass - I have no idea with genre - to my mind its a great pop song built around some nice arpeggios, sweet melodies and solid beats . Also Love the sound of the vox and the switch up with the vox sound around half way through - almost a little punk interlude - well to my old ears. : )
Hey, pseudoble, it was originally meant to be drum n bass, but I guess in the end it became an electronic pop with a hint of drum n bass. Good call on the punk interlude comparison -- the switch uses a lot of techniques punkers used back in the day. Thanks for the kind comments and for stopping by, I appreciate it. :)
Nice! This is a cool song. sort of an accessible D&B for the masses with a nice electronic feel. Well, thought composition is driven by that arpeggio as the chords dance around it. then that solo piano strike works so well at 2:12. That vox afterward so reminds me of something I might hear on a Bran van 3000 record. Were you using Valhalla Supermassive mate. the effects were spot on. really impressed with this one. Fav´d. That ending outro is also incredible. Standing O
Thanks, Steve! That means a lot coming from you. For the vox, I used an assortment of effects. I used some distortion, clipping, an amp, a limiter, and some basic eq to get the desired sound (all of logic default fx). I spent a few days on this one and I'm pretty happy how it turned out. Bran van is a nice band to be compared to, so thanks for that. Thanks for the kind words, take care, my friend.
Hi Modnex nice to see you about again this is another good track from you, I like your house and pop, this is like electri pop with a liquid drum and base stamp on it. The vocal is great, iwas just thinking this needs a vocal 5 seconds later it dropped :)) good return it's a footstomper bro
Thanks, Dimestop! I appreciate the support. Electronic pop with a touch of liquid bass is what I will be using to describe all my songs from now on lol. Thanks for stopping by.
Different and interesting, some neat sounds. Keep trying out different things. These daws are so full of cool plugins, sounds and effects that it's mind boggling sometimes. Have fun!
Hey Wayne! Thanks, mate! You're so right. At the end of the day making music is about having fun and exploring new things. It truly is amazing what we can do nowadays with a few clicks on a computer.
Mod this is really cool electronic house, great bones to work with, you could easily beef this up you can add all-sorts even a repetitive electro vox or vocal synth, it'll be nice to see how this comes back
Thank you, dime! I agree with you all the way. This track has the makings to be more. I just need to figure out what direction I'm going to take it in and stick with it, which is truly the hard part.
You actually reversed the entire song wav file? What an interesting concept. Yes it has a deadmau5 feel to it specially at the intro sounds like one of his chord progressions. That is amazing. I definitely think you should flesh this out into a full song. I would love to hear the result. As it is, it is pretty cool progressive house.
Thanks, Ella! Yeah, basically I reversed the entire song, cut out the best sections, mashed them together, then added two different EQ bands on it. Cut off the highs on one and the lows on another, added a filter along with a few other effects, then automated everything to my liking. It was definitely something I haven't tried before and I had some fun with it. I'm definitely going to experiment more, who knows what we might discover next. When things cool down at work, I'll definitely come back to finish this. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it. :)
Thanks, Emolyte! It's good to hear from you. The old-school vibe with the new school flow is the kind of rap music I like, happy I was able to achieve. Thanks for stopping by!
That song title ,and the slightly demented bass riff are the perfect combination, hahaa :D I can imagine maybe some rude female vocal on top of that demented bass riff.
Thanks, Otherideas! I never thought about adding vocals on this, but now that you've mentioned it, I can't stop imagining it. I think it would be hilarious.
Thanks, Zoot! I appreciate your kind sentiment and am happy you gave it a listen. My flow is definitely in a better place than it once was. I hope to continue to improve on it. Take care, and have a great day/night.
