Tenor sax is way cool, but then again they all are.....Q..How come the humble liquorice stick has lost it's foothold in popular music?..I thought if anyone could answer this it would be you.........You just keep pumping them out Slap......and believe me we are all grateful for it........diggin' it...planet

Hi Planet, thanks for the review. I know exactly where your coming from in regards to the clarinet. The clarinet is such a wonderful instrument and it has fallen out of fashion in popular music. I teach jazz clarinet and this is a more exciting avenue in pieces and studies for the majority of my pupils, but what we need is the clarinet to find it's voice back in pop music then it will stop being uncool. It's strange I was having this same thought just the other day, so guess what! The next song I do will feature the clarinet and hopefully our Looper friends will share the same respect as ours for this cracking instrument, cheers Slap...

on 80s Cop theme; Saxobones by SLAPJOHNSON
Yeah, this sounds like some runnin from the law stuff at first. then the sax kicks in and i'm thinking it's more from the point of view of the fuzz chasing the bad guys. great piece all around, especially the sax before the breakdown around 2:30 and afterwards.

Hi John, thanks for the review and kind supporting words towards my music. I am planning to promote and sell this album, so it won't be available to download (sorry). I have quite a few media contacts in my local area and I am going to mention and promote Looperman in these press releases. The plan is to get as many people to visit/ sign up for this site by hook or by crook, then hopefully more people can enjoy the music being made here, Cheers Slap...

Everybody should do it.........You know what I really enjoy about this music is that when it's over...little bits of it replay themselves in your mind.....sometimes hours later if not days.....Now I don't know the processes at work here...but I do know this only happens with music that is special.................planet

To a tee........This more than anything, showcases your voice, which if possible outstrips the horns for presence...Hey! when you figure out how to bottle what ever it is you've got....put me down for a couple of cases...no hold that....a couple of dozen!...........cheers planet

This is by far the most whimsical piece I have heard you play.....I don't think there is a better instrument than a Wind for channeling that introspective mood.....This just blows right through your soul.....the images it conjures up will be as many and varied as the people that listen to it............very beautiful

Very nice. There was one point between 40 to 45 secs where the vocals seemed overpowered by the instruments, but that's not a criticism. Just means I wanted to hear the vocals better. Very nice piece. I have tons of lyrics if you'd like to give some a go.

Jeez mate!..another masterful piece....To all you welcome strangers that might be reading this as you listen....The sheer amount of work involved to produce 35 minutes of music in 1 month is staggering!..you've got to conceptualize, workshop, record, mixdown, master, produce and on top of that, carry out your other commitments and earn a crust...sheeesh!This guy is a prime example of what is possible if you are prepared to work for it,and no better example to us all ....planet

sounds excellent slap. LOVE yer vocals..melody is fantastic.

actually I really think the drums are perfect..@2:20 is when [to me] sounds like a drum bridge and is when you introduce the bongos'..sounds just right to me.

great work slap!

Thanks Gizz, I had another listen through and I lifted the drums there on purpose, it helps the solo take off. I have also remixed it a bit, just to get it sit a bit better. Thanks for taking time out from poo duties to give my stuff a listen. Your pal Slap...
