Hehe, yeah I put all my tracks together by ear (which probably takes 10 times longer and is a thousand times more frustrating) but it works for me because most of the tunes I make I use in dance classes, so if I can 'feel' that the rhythm is even then I'm happy! lol. It's mostly trial and error, but it's pretty satisfying when I get it right.
The string instrument is an Oud, but the loop itself it not mine, it came from here on looperman. I foolishly re-named it so I could find it again after the download and now I am trying to hunt down the person that created the original Oud track so I can give them a shout out. I'll post their username once I find it.
An Oud is kind of like an old fashioned 'lute'. It's the Middle Eastern 'guitar' in the minds of a lot of belly dancers. Really beautiful sound. I'm looking for loops of the Middle Eastern Rabab too, if anyone has any leads...
Nice Panning. Very nice sounding. The deeper kick gives it more tension. The groove is chill like going on your way bout your day and then that switch puts you on your toes for whatever happens next. A routine to this song would definitely be good. Tight work, only 1 way but up!
Keep going with this Sara. Another fine blend my friend. Some sub-bass might work inserted every fourth up beat or so (if that makes sense ha ha). The change at about 1.20 took me by surprise then nicely back into the rhythm again
Cool song, has a really nice flow. I like the percussion a lot but i def think it needs some sort of bass, even if it isnt actually a proper bass line. What you have though is good, keep it up! :)
Thanks! Still working on it... bass always seems to be my problem, likely because I'm still figuring out the fine art of mastering. Your feedback will improve my next draft for sure :)
Waterlily...Niiiiice has suggestions of movement in my head Tai Chi comes to mind but funky Tai Chi/Yogary hybrid lol if that exsists. Hypnoxotic there you go a new genre Saraswati, clapping sounds, more!!
Great first attempt, I am real sucker for the throat singing..so I got pulled in straight away!...I am familiar with the koto type sample, really like how you used it here, nice lil scratching also...great first effort here, please don't stop! peace.
Overall Not bad for your first track.
I guess if I ever do yoga I'll play this tune! LOL!
It's very groovy but I personally can do without the panning.
