As said before, the track is very nice, good to listen. Little more subbass and punch to the kick aside with al little more of sidechaining would fit the needs - imho
Hey Dean, VERY IMPRESSIVE don't know really know where to start, sorry mate can't pick a thing wrong with this amazing piece, listening to it in headset and sounds perfect with plenty of space for everything to work where it should, guessing you on vocals? If so great voice for this type of track, liking it mix with the female vocal works a treat...MUCH RESPECT....Peace mosaic...big time fav'd....
Thanks for the kind words Mosaic. This track managed to get radio air time here in the UK, so I'm quite proud that I broke that barrier with it, in that the mix was good enough to pass their audio tests in order to get featured. just for reference, the vocals are not my voice. Thanks again!
Nice Build up am waiting for it oh its still building ahhhhhhhhhhhh here it is yessssssssss bouncing now dam this is good nice clean sound vox is on point love it good job.
Robin
Thanks for your comment and listen (and fav). The prolonged build up was deliberate from the start of production, to create an extended period of tension - and ultimately, a satisfying resolve with a big drop.
nice track dean, the synth work is great and the vocal is a great match, love that staged entry faded up, the keys building the beat building then the drop the heads bouncing up and down , nice bass too. its authentic sounding too and packs a punch, keep pushing yourself and introducing new ideas to your work bro, top job
If in doubt, take it out. Thanks Paul...the big lead sounds in the track are of a new synth. I doubted the bass later on in the track, as to me it sounded muddy later on, so took it out. The vocalist has a great voice for this genre, I'm sure there will be more of her to come in my music.
Hey Dean, mate firstly love the intro to this one, great vocal, liking the space you have going here within track, nice clarity in headset, beat is perfect for this type of track, poss. only little thing I would say (only my thoughts if I was doing track mate) is maybe have just the beat minus percussion in the first lot of beat that comes in, second lot of beat that comes in is perfect, great bass and beat drive a lot cleaner without percussion, listening to this very nice piece makes me want to get another trancer done, excellent work, guessing one of the better sounding trance piece I've heard on the loop since my return...Favd...Peace n much Respect to you my friend on this piece of work...mos...
Thanks for your comments Mosaic. I try to incorporate some new feature in each track, as part of continued development. For this one, I have used a vocoder at the end that is synced to chord changes, which I haven't tried before. There has also been considerable emphasis on other vocal effects, such as delays. I think the vocals sound nice and clean and the vocalist has got a great voice for this genre. Best wishes
Enjoyable positive and uplifting track (don't get many of those) and a timely message for me personally at this point in time. Wasn't entirely convinced that the sax sound towards the end fitted but the guitar certainly did. Cheers Zoot.
Thanks you for your feedback. I included the sax because it is generally one of the usual elements of a Synthwave track, so was staying true to the genre. Best wishes.
Thanks for this, and your last message. Yes, the title and lyrics to this track have a bit of a message. I have to say, I've only recently gotten into listening to and making my own Synthwave and absolutely love the genre, more so than any other, the genre really hits home for me...it's probably just yet another sign of getting old!
nice synth works dean, nice change ups and choice of synth instruments and risers nice high notes and the vocals are both good and sit great together in a nice mix , enjoyed my listen, keep up the good work mate
Hello, I understand what the previous posters mean. In a song of this genre, which is clearly more dance than trance, the driving bass and drums are actually missing. Although they are present in the song, they don't really come into their own. That's why the overall acoustic picture appears too bright and unbalanced in frequency. If you can achieve that balance (I hope I'm making myself clear?) then it would be the perfect song. The song is already very good, but there is more that can be done. Put in some more work – it will be worth it!
Kind regards, Manuela
Hi Manuela, many thanks for your insightful observations with this track. You are certainly making sense. I have a pretty good idea on how to fix the mix here and I will be revisiting it soon.
I noticed the adjustments you've made to the track. It's definitely evolving in the right direction. Perhaps a more punchiness or depth in the kick could really enhance the overall impact of the track without overshadowing the other elements. Just a friendly suggestion to consider. Keep up the great work!
Hi, Dean! So, I know I've said this previously in comments on other tracks here on LM, Trance is my favourite EDM genre. It was a treat to hear this track from you. Totally enjoyed it. I suck at making Trance. You clearly have figured out how to do it right.
I have read about the EQ issue on the kick. Frankly, I'd like to hear it come through even more, but at some point balancing the sounds in a mix comes down to a matter of taste, which is inherently subjective I think. The suggestion that perhaps you should find another kick sample was interesting. At Point Blank, our instructor told us that if we had to do a lot of EQing on a kick, we had the wrong sound to begin with. (Advice that I rarely follow, but probably has merit.) Synth work was excellent and I really admired how you got the bass pumping. I still can't do that properly.
Again, is a great track and well worth the 6 weeks effort.
Hi Eric, many thanks for your comments. they are very constructive indeed. I switched the kick to use Ableton's built in EQ kick setting after the comments about the kick on here. As for the track structure, I have figured that the Trance genre works better if there is at least 2 builds and drops sections within it, followed by an outro which should basically consist of a variation of the intro. Previously I was focusing on just 1 build and drop in the track, which I found listening back was missing a lot. Thanks again.
this sounds a little different now mate them drums and the kick cut through lovely, some may still want the drums louder but i think its balanced really well now the music gives you them peaks and the littlest things that you miss like the EQ on the kick tack can define it for you, ive made loads of similar mistakes but when you been listening and tweaking for time it becomes more difficult because you dont here it like your listeners, its so obvious when you spot things afterwards us producers are a self rightesous lot though but aint it great to get good feedback all pushing the same thing too, it makes it feel worthwhile and remember we are not always right but one thing is for sure, i want as much success for your work as i do my own, our biggest fans are here and i think most genuinely feel the same about each others work, on ward and upward bro, your a good listen dean
My bad. I've literally updated the track this morning to include a hopefully improved kick. I've upped the gain also to ensure this drives through more.
great track, smooth mix reminds me aurora festival lol... i love the synths and arp but bro i like the kick hitting hard hahaha but i guess thats personal tastes...
keep up mate
