Awww...feelin mushy again today...your voice came in so soft and gentle and oh my gosh, the music lyrics vocals all just dance so well together but they come and go too fast. Awww...awww...fav'd...awww. :-)
A mixture subtle and pleasant .... highlighted by the superb voice that fits your musical conception ....
It is light, barely supported by the drums .... a fluid piano like a stream .... Respect!
I wrote, there is not very long ago, and I repeat here: "You have a wild imagination"
Question: Do you plan to upload here your a cappella, to perhaps also share your knowledge?
LOve this one PhasmataJ...reminds me just a little of some of the great tracks that Nightwish (Norwegian kind of goth metal band but have many great ambient tracks)have done...I know what you mean about the whole mixing-mastering thing...I`ve been doing it for a long time & I think this one really is a good job...nice and clean without the life squashed out of it and all the parts are nicely in their place in the sound stage....well done....Ed
WOW!!!! i AM STUNNED AND AMAZED!!!!! Hello my name is BASSMOM! i could see this on a dance floor!! and you asked so here is something that i have learned about mastering. as far as I can tell try using your 10 band equalizer or your parametric equalizer to either bring some sounds up while others you tone down so that the overall mix is not over bearing when listening to it. I have a track called Stellar Rays and another called Drop that Beat and Open Space that will give you an idea of how to master out your sounds so they sound much better ok? I do not use FL studio I use Sonar 8 and Reason 4 and Magix sampletuide. If you have any other questions please let me know and do not be afraid to ask and as for this track??
I am very impressed with it!!! GREAT JOB!!!
beautiful track PhasmataJ...well done on the vocals and accompaniment...emotions, instruments and artists usually make for good music...and this is no exception...Ed
Hi Ed. Really appreciate your review. Music is something that needs to reach deep inside of us all and pull out something good. Stay in touch and am so glad to be a part of looperman and wonderful people like you! :)
Thank you Allistar. I love looperman and everyone here. I look forward to seeing your creativity as well. Please stay in touch! Again, thank you for your review! :)
Hey Vicen. How are you? Thank you for your review. Some of the best things in music seem to come mysteriously. The vocal reply and response (the spirit) were what I would say to someone if I had the chance to communicate with them from the other side. Man, looperman rocks. And so do all the awesome people. Thanks again Vicen. Please do stay in touch!
There is a sadness there. I guess that may have come from me given I was feeling it while making this for a friend who passed over. I fantasized about having the lady sit behind me as I worked on this. I thought, how cool it would be if she were present listening to the creation process. I've done the same with other songs with folks like John Lennon and Freddy Mercury. Wouldn't that be a rush if you had such support from the other side?
Thank you man. I really value and devour your review. It is really quite cathartic to receive such wonderful comments from people who know what they're talking about. Thank you again. Please stay in touch!
Thank you. I think I should speed it up t 75 BPM vs. the 70 it is at. This means, re-recording vocals. Stretching them seems like cheating anyway.
The pianos were actually Garritan Personal Orchestra's Steinway (wet). Before that, I was using True Pianos which was always sounding out of tune for some reason!
It is always encouraging to hear from everyone o here. Kenny, I'll be checking your tunes out real soon!
Quite honestly, I love it as it is. Great instrumentation and your vocals are wonderful. The arrangement is perfect for the emotional atmosphere of the piece. You have star power, my friend.
Thank you for your review. I really appreciate it! It is so easy to add 'too much' to songs I've found. Maybe you're right about leaving things the way they are. Sometimes, one riff can change the whole thing into a completely different feel.
Although, I may add some things to the beginning and ending to make the cover of the book (so to speak) be more enticing. I was worried about the plain beginning with piano. Depending upon what kind of day a person has, it could be a good or bad thing. But I think I probably should add something to draw a listener into the song.
Again, thank you thank you. "Star Power". God, I am dreaming on that one big time!
It's funny. I have this wish for some artist out there to hear something, like it enough, and CALL. Can you imagine how cool that would be?
I'm looking forward to listening to your work. Thanks again bro!
Me, I like your concept Pop / Ballad, and I really have nothing negative reviews to share. It's fluid, clean and tidy, and pauses without drums, are well suited to this song .... and finally, the voice is sublime ....
I can see how reviews can certainly help any of us out here trying to make something work. I would be lying if I didn't say your review just made my day. Thanks for all you said. It is always good to know you are on the right track. No pun intended. Thanks again!
I am loving your tracks. Really am VickyDan! My God, you sound amazing!
