hello mate, its been a while, the track is good, everything sounds excellent and thats the scary thing, been having these discussion for a while with DJ Pain he's a beat maker and producer on YouTube i follow, and many other artist too, putting it bluntly, its here to stay, we may have to embrace it but that doesn't make it right, i think most agree it does a great job, but its trained on real vocalist so it replicates genre definitions music technology and the like and then churns out a track in 30 seconds, real artist musicians and vocalists are the true creatives, everybody has to stick together on this, Suno and Udio are having to settle out of court to big artist cos its spitting there material out, i gave it a try, i have a free track on Suno, its brilliant used a female but you wont here it no way, i hate my laptop, so AI i know i'll loathe. if producers wanna press 2 buttons, start and finish thats not talent, its a fraud.
i agree with another poster Morgan, 100% AI should only be given a non- comercial licence, not for profit. but that wont happen. sorry its a long mail, but i know quite a bit about said subject everyones on about it, that creates the fear and as you asked, i answered, and the moral of my story 10 billion dollars spent this year on AI in music AND, this is the cherry on top, the first AI artist has just signed a 1.3 million dollar contract, when U2 and the Rollin Stones join Looperman, i'll be saying i told you so, lol

Hey Paul, it has been a minute and I hope life is treating you well. I miss the old forums because I think this topic would have been a burner, but I guess in the new world we have to adapt. Which leads back to your astute comments. I can see the danger in falling into a trap with AI. I went down the rabbit hole and did the production on a completed track and the end result was nothing short of amazing. Like you, the only people who will ever hear it are my family because the AI did that good of a job on it. The non-commercial license is a grand idea, limiting any "profit" one would see from AI created works. I'm sure the governments will get involved at some point, but until then it is difficult to discern what is real and what is not and that's the real tragedy. I hope all is well my friend.

I don't think I'd get around to listening to any AI music, there's too much human music I've got to catch up on. This is brilliant but technically over compressed and without nuance such as a sparkle on the guitar in my opinion. It's also derivative. What was the process of production?
My foray into AI includes creating photo-real images of brass players for a fictional big band with a story round it that's going to be web based. I don't have a budget for a photo shoot and it's unethical to use lifted images of real people so I justify a best use case, I will also post process them into Polaroids in Photoshop. AI is able to augment what I'm wishing to do in this way. The fun part of writing and making music are mine. I suppose I'm interested in how people are going to use AI in their projects but AI has also pushed me into seeking 'Outsider Art' also.

Sounders, you are correct about not being nuanced in the production, but I was very careful to stay away from mixing and mastering this one. It is possible to break these tracks down into individual instruments, vocals, etc. and then do a true mix based on this. I have no doubt that a good sound engineer would be able to mix this up and make it impossible to tell it was AI, and that's the main reason I stayed away from mixing and mastering. I think your use of AI is pretty spot on and you are doing it the right way. I just fear that many will not. As always, your comments are greatly appreciated. I hope all is well.

I believe our world leaders should start legislating on AI right now. AI should be used as a tool, but not as a substitute for a human. I'm quite calm about this aspect because I believe that a person's creativity and emotions can never be replaced by AI. However, I still think that they should not allow the publication of 100% AI-generated songs on any online platform, neither paid ones like Spotify nor free ones like LM. To feel at ease, I look to the past and try to draw an analogy with similar events that we have already overcome with beneficial results for everyone. For example, when the first DAWs and virtual instruments started appearing, before that, if someone wanted to create, record, edit, and mix their own songs, there was no other way than to go to a professional studio. Now we can do it from our room, and yet professional studios and engineers still exist. Another example is the arrival of Autotune. Before, it was impossible for someone with a lot of talent but without the gift for singing to become a singer; however, now anyone with talent can do it.

I absolutely agree with your sentiments. I can see the benefits of using it to flesh out ideas, or work through lyrics, unfortunately I can see the potential for abuse as well. I'm an old man who started playing trombone when I was 5 (my father and grandfather were both accomplished trombone players). I studied really hard and practiced thousands of hours to hone my skills. I picked up the guitar 52 years ago and approached it the same way I did the trombone. Piano, over 45 years ago, same approach. It seems a shame that all of those years of work can be bypassed in a few moments by AI. I don't have a lot of confidence that our government will try to regulate the use of AI. I hope for my grandchildren's sake they do. As always your response to this is greatly appreciated. I hope all is well.

Personally I see AI as a virus. I'd rather watch my own paint dry (white on a white canvas). For me the negatives outweigh the positives.

My feelings on AI mirror yours. It seemed almost like I was committing a crime putting this together. Unfortunately, I think this may end up being the way music heads in the future, and if it does, it is a tragedy. I fear that my grandchildren will risk the joy of creating with actual instruments. Time will tell. Thanks for dropping by to give an opinion. It is appreciated. I hope all is well.

The song is pleasant but TBH, an AI approach lacks warmth somehow. The emotions come from lyrics that have been written in the midst of human emotion and that is what hooks people in. This song is well-rounded but i do not feel AI alone is sufficient enough to make relevant emotions

Kay, thank you so much for weighing in. I was hesitant to try this experiment, but felt it was my duty to do so. I am old guy with a lot of road miles, but I was surprised at how easy this was to do. I think the AI could be used to flesh out different instrumentation and song structure before heading into the studio to record with real instruments and real musicians (kind of like modern day sheet music). The lyric part could help a competent song writer with ideas but this tune actually created the lyrics based off of ideas I had. Anyway, I fear this may end up being the future. The #1 song on the country Billboard Charts was created by AI (even the singer's image was AI and fooled millions), and Sir Paul McCartney has also weighed in with his fears. Time will tell I guess. In the meantime, I think artists like you will still have a place in this game. As always, thank you for your comment. I hope all is well.

Song is actually really good, but I don't think AI can do what musicians can do.
Ai just copy others artists and make songs copying existing music.
It's the people who push the boundaries of music with their imagination and creativity. As a tool AI can be useful, but as main creator, i don't think so.

ShortBusMusic replied 19th Nov 2025 - 3 months ago
Dan, thank you so much for offering your opinion, and I agree with you. I've been playing all kinds of instruments for over 60 years, so this new wave of AI generated music has me concerned. I was able to give precise instructions to the AI concerning key, tempo, style, instruments, song structure, song content, and found that process actually similar to working in a studio environment. Frankly, this stuff scares me because it is so intuitive. And it will only get better with time. Anyway, we are definitely of the same opinion, and using it as a tool makes great sense, but in the end, the final product really should be made by real musicians. Thanks again. I hope all is well. PERFECTION!!!! The two of you are nearly that! I Love this version over the other one I've heard here. This version is more earthy , more authentic in character. I could see myself turning on my radio and hearing this play.

Hello there Barry,

Wow...what a great song. It should be on the radio! You did a nice arrangement with this one, and MuzicIzMee4Ever's voice is just great on it. I picked this song here as I wanted to see what she sounded like on this song with you here.

She also did a country song with me called, "Walkin Shoes" on my page not too long ago. First time she ever did country...and it came out great. Doing all the lyrics and vocals/harmonies. So she can sing anything I feel.

Anyway's, Barry, good to hear your playiung again and that your still putting quality songs out.
Are you on 'Facebook' by chance? I am as 'Randall Miller'.

Bye and thanks for shaing this beautiful song.

mmmmmmmmm yeah - this is really really nice - i listened to it last night and now again today - everything about it is very beautiful - in particular the vocal phrasing and melody - and then the production by short bus is just spot on and also crystal clear - this should be a hit.
Mostly I am so impressed with the production in the sense that it perfectly matches the mood of the vocal - the drums are just absolutely perfect for it.
Great job muzicizmee4ever and shortbus!!

Hey Bear

WOW OH WOW

Mate this just pure brilliance, right from the very first drop of rain, vocals are brilliant, what a stunning voice, first time have heard her vocals, totally blown away with the freshness of MuzicIzMee4Ever vocals, notice possible couple of clicks in vocals, but listening to track on laptop, so could poss be that, only noticed it twice, as to the rest of the track my friend, up there with your very high standard, great guitar work, everything sounding so good and in place where it should be, massive fav for this very good collab my friend...Peace n much Respect Bear...Estefano...
ShortBusMusic
ShortBusMusic replied Unknown
Thanks Estefano! Mz. Muzic is a huge talent and we are so lucky to have her and her gifts on the Loop. I listened to the track carefully on headphones and can't hear a click on the vocals. There is some drum brush high hat work going on and a step pad as well, so maybe that is what you hear. Anyway, thanks so much for the listen and the great commentary. Greatly appreciated my friend.
