dude, I LOVE the melody line on this one. You're melodies really inspire me... This kinda track really makes me wanna work on my own for sure. Way to keep bangin em out. I look forward to reviewing more of your tracks! y only complaint is that it's too short! I feel like it could use a B section... maybe even like a thunder sound effect, increased rain, cool dark bridge, and then swelling back to the beautiful melodic line... Hey whatever you do will be cool I love it as is. Fav'd for sure.
L= thanks bro, yeah this one is still in progress, unfortunately I keep piling up all these ideas and not finishing them >.>
Hopefully Ill get to it soon, thanks for listening brother!
Wow what a great relaxing track! Love the sounds you used to build up the mix! That rain sound is really high quality! The music you've made is really suggestive of your title too! Like this track a lot!
Why thankyou Spiv =), I appreciate the rev especially since I know you really listen to the tracks. Big props ALividLife for the rain FX, its one Ill be using for years and ill always give him credit for it.
Thanks for the listen!
"I was seriously waiting for the part where it goes kinda hard"
I bet he hears that all the time from the ladies...
Like the work in argon... I've almost been using it exclusively for basslines, but this makes me wanna mess around with creating some more lead type stuff with it. Definitely hit's some low db's in there. Good track, and "that keyboard note" makes the track
hey or u learn fast or you dont show what u can lol , nice work , like the beat , just need work on sound editing, samples are great too , listening to piano right now, really good work , so smooth , the way i like it, i guess this is my last review . . im leaving looperman for a wile, dont whanna go in to details , you can find it in forum.
stay in peace brotha
dude how good is rain... im no emo either LOL... agree with you aye, the emotions it brings out!!! i love listening to it
this track is looking proper nice man... the keys at the start were a great intro!!! and the melodies that come in really accompany them... liking where this is headed man!!!
billion is a hater
keep in mind mabe a lil childish hiding behind a dog
on his profile then talk smack to every looperman!!!
he is not to be took series
great track
I'm pretty sure Mrbillionx couldn't hand out a compliment if he had a gun to his head... He is right about the melody tho. Just amazing work again. How's nanostudio treating ya? How's it comparing to beatmaker in terms of strengths/weaknesses? I'd love to hear of review of what you think of it... Still wanna upgrade the ipod before getting the app, but way to represent the mobile studio world!
Lol Im not trippin on billion comments on me, hes got a few persona issues
Thanks alot bro! Nanostudio is great, Im pretty happy with it actually. once BM2 comes out its going to be a helluva combo :D
In general, BM has a lot more thump to it. However, Nanostudio has these Eden synths that really make it shine(they should be an app in themselves)
its much easier to create dynamics in NS, but BM still wins with copy/paste.(still, a vers of NS is in Rev by Apple to have that and more 0.0)((along with audiocopy))
You know, as sad as it is to say, BM became obsolete to me =/
However, with the ability to have 128 samples and slice up samples on the fly, BM2 will be a first day buy!
Thanks bro, i appreciate the listen and compliment :D
Man That Drumbeat Is Too Nice....The Melodies Are A Lil Off At Certain Points But Don't Stop Cause You Can Always Learn To Play Keys Better But Drum Patterns And Tight Melody Placement Is Vital In My Opinion And You Have It Yo.... Stay Blessed
Thanks man, yeah looking back on it it can be choppy at point melody wise. I can firmly say Ive improved, but Ill def always look back to this track when I think of my steps into more definitive Hip Hop producing. I appreciate the listen brother.
Not sure, I think its alright. The snare at times is a lil low, but then again I wasnt looking for the percussion to dominate in this, I did however want it to create a mellowdramatic feel and move the track along.
Thanks for the synth compliment, I really dig what came out of it this time as well. I try and make sure that i dont seq it, but rather play it out with feeling. That usually works out well.
Thanks for the listen.
dude this is sounding pretty mad... that dark vibe is crazy!
the beats are tight...
one thing.. that first melody... if you sequenced it, just check to see if you use some black notes in there.. i can hear only one or two that is just out of key... u can use black notes, it's just that some backs only sound good in the right sequence.. just fiddle with it a touch!
Yo Butcha thanks man, coming from someone as skilled as you thats just a massive compliment. I feel you on the melody, ill play with it and see where it goes.
I appreciate the listen brother!
Very pretty beginning, I like that. It says I have something positive to offer. That bass seems a little on the sad side. Ahh, nice, the piece has moved more toward the sad, but not without a ray of hope. Nice changes, very appropriate to the piece. I'm not finished, but I already know it is a fav and a download. There is an Alan Parson's Project feel about this that really grabs me (I'm a big fan of the APP). I could prob write some nice lyrics for this piece, but right now I have too many other things to deal with. If I forget in about a month or so, remind me.
Great track, my friend
Prob one of my all time favs
Wow thankyou John! Ill be sure to remind you should you forget.
Haha yeah, sorry about that john, why dont you go ahead and PM me your email and ill send it to you? I just dont like anyone getting their hands on what I make, its a bad trait of mine :/
however with you I have no issue brother! Id gladly send it over.
Yo Scythe, Sick track, but actually my first reaction was the same as woundedbuffalo... I feel like the drums... Lack something? I feel like they're almost too muted or not quite as full as they could be. I guess I Like the beat, I even like the drums for an intro, but I feel like they really need to "kick in" at some point to really make this beat groove. Otherwise, those strings in thumbjam? damn son, what settings were you using if you don't mind me asking? I'm still having trouble with exporting sounds and the copy/paste function, but I'd love to how you use thumbjam so well...
Regardless of whether you change the drums, it's a keeper. Way to push the Itech
*Edit as far as the drums go, I think just adding over the top some bass with some "boom" and maybe a really tight clap over the snares would do wonders. Just a thought though
Yup, Im actually hearing it too now that Ive read your's n Wounded's perspective. Im going to go ahead and try and get more punch from them. As for Thumbjam, I commonly use minor scales because they sound much more sorrowful, which is a tone I really dig. I also do a lot of comboing between melodies and chords to really give the strings some depth.
Other than that, Id say just let the sound take you man. Most of the stuff I make, when it comes to melody, it's always just been me rolling with what feels right. I swear, sometimes I think Im getting possessed by my own mind and it's doing things I just can't explain haha.
Try just improving, having fun you know? and then build on it. Also, use both of those thumbs man, trust, it adds a lot of flavor to the sound coming from TJ.
As for the issues, take a vid yeah? send it to broken.scythe@yahoo.com and ill take a look and see if I can help.
Thanks for listening Thanx! Im going to go check a track of yours right now man.
I still can't believe you are doing this from your phone!!!
Gah
Like 20 years ago we were all huddled around huge quarter inch reel to reels!!!!!
Anyway
Throw some compression and sidechain a bass and you could fool me heheh.
Plus lest not forget the great 5th and 7th semitone drop which really grooves out the trance melody and bassline.
Needed a bass I think...
Yea...
Good stuff man.. You got a nice taste in the melody.
Drums would need some more layering I would think and "depth" thru 'verb and such....
But I ain't complaining or criticizing, only offering what I heard the birds chirping and relayed the message.
I am no "electronic" producer (at least I don't consider myself) soo these are just opinions as well.
Livid you always offer such great advice man, thankyou.
How would I approach the bass on this? Im so new to it lol.
5th n 7th semitone drop? Like a pitch wheel kind of drop?
I feel you on the drums, theyre simple indeed, need more depth.
Ill get on that Livid, thanks for the listen! perhaps you could check out a battle beat I made called Cherry blossom? Id appreciate you great constructive criticism on that one man.
Thanks again! Ill return the favor :)
I think every note in the piece is sweet from note one to note last (although it did seem a tad sudden :-). I even dig the title. This is a great ambient piece. Very well put together.
Haha yeah it does pop a bit, not the best example of transitioning lol
Thanks a lot John, I actually was thinking about people who stress w? somehow that out too much you know? try to plan everything and then trip when it falls apart.
somehow that lead to the creation of this haha.
Thanks for the listen John :)
Thanks a lot Spiv! very great compliment, I really appreciate the compliment brother.
Yeah my bad on the hardcore haha, im changing that now actually.
Hope your having better luck kicking the ash! peace until the next Spiv.
ye sounds good nice work there only idc why u labeled it hardcore ... could be me there. but anyway nice dope track and as johnboutilier said this could be epic witch some vocals
haha you know what, I made a mistake. my bad, I kind of misunderstood what hardcore really meant.
Im switchin it bro.
Thanks for the listen man, appreciate it.
Haha I may just allow it man. The biggest reason why I dont allow downloads is cuz Im a stickler on originality, and I just wouldnt like someone ripping my track and claiming cred. Its a bad trait actually..but idk, hopefully ill get over it.
Maybe ill send it to you? who knows haha
I like the meshing of orchestral and hip hop, can't go wrong with that in my book. Nice production, I think it sounds just fine as is though would consider extending the break at 2:05 so it's much longer and more dramatic, this would extend the whole song and make it sound a bit more polished/complete. Great tune. - DF
Thanks a lot man, I agree, orchestral hip hop is a beautiful mix. I'm glad I pulled it off well enough for you to enjoy. I'm actually going to extend that break now bro, just because I agree with you on it. It rebuilds too fast.
Thanks for the listen.

What ever that keyboard note you are playing in this thing
you can remove that and it would sound so much better.
a few more drums here and there would always pep it up.

I don't think the timing on the drumming is on point.
but the keyboard work is awesome.
