I like your bass sound here. Very warm and funky and grooving nicely with the steady drums. Gently enticing, bouncy shit, basically.
0:36 another trancey synth is making the track come alive.
The minimal music all sits tightly behind the up front vocal, not interfering with it at all.
1:47 and that same synth is back. I'm kind of looking for a bit more variety by this point. Not a big complaint - just a preference/desire.
No, that variety's not coming and then the track is over but it's still a pretty cool, swaying, bouncing track so I offer congratulations and multiple word ups, yo.
Hey, very sweet arpeggiations in this track! I can almost envision a string quartet playing an arrangement of this theme, that would sound cool! Kind of has an 80s soundtrack style to it, but with some updated sounds of course... not to mention digital/virtual. The mix and everything sounds nice to my ears. I know it's older now, but I enjoyed listening!
Yes, I am really liking this one! Has those trippy high speed arpeggio sounds that I loved so much in old video games. One of the funny differences between something like this and the old video games is that this isn't a round a minute long and looping until infinity! (Or at least until you complete the level!) Any, dig the sounds and the composition. Big fave!
Thank you very much for your nice review.
I love those sounds too, so much.
I guess I am old school :D
But I don't care. As long as you love what you do, it can't be
wrong.
Nice one for an 8Bit. In the middle there is this "slower/relaxed" part and i am not sure if it fits for a endboss fight but without this endboss thing it is a nice little gamemusic.
I apologize, I meant to say "now" and not "not"... don't know if it was just a freudian slip up or a typo or what. But since you asked, I am back with a bit of explanation of the origins of chip tune. 8-bit and chip tune are technically two separate things in some cases, but are definitely related. Basically, chip tune is music made with sounds from "chips" or integrated circuits and could be at any bit rate, while 8-bit would pretty much mean any song created with sounds or samples from an 8 bit sound engine. Some chip tune is 8 bit, while *all* 8 bit should officially be chip tune, if that makes sense. Some popular examples of devices used in classic chip tune include SN76477 (used in many old arcade games, such as space invaders), the famous SID chip (used in commodore 64), and the tracker programs used on Amiga computers... also included would be Game Boy, and various circuits using TTL or CMOS logic IC's. There are others of course, and I would definitely include many vintage electronic toys in the chip tune range, such as Texas Instruments Speak and Spell, Casio SK sampling keyboards, and Talking Computrons. Then we get to the fact that, technically, 8 bit music should be recorded and distributed in 8-bit format, and not the more common 16 or 24 bit of modern music. Totally not saying you should change what you do, because I enjoyed listening! Just like discussing this sort of thing, so I thought I would respond. Take care!
Alright, thank you for your explanation.
I think I understand what you mean.
Chiptune music is imitating the original so it sounds like 8-BIT, while original 8-BIT music is... well... original and not a fake. :)
aaahh yes, not here's a genuine sounding chip piece! I realize it is probably VST stuff, but it sounds believable! Like I am playing a vintage 80s NES cartridge or something. Pleasing sound, and cool panning in the stereo field. Right on for your efforts here! Dig it!
Yes you are totally right.
The sounds coming from a VST plugin. I just put them in notes
and make a melody of it :)
Well I didn't know that 8-BIT Chiptune is something different.
Maybe you could explain me what it is. I would be thankfully for your effort.
I think "electronic" would be a good genre for this, and yes I agree it's very experimental! Cool choice of sounds, a good balance of old standard sounds and modern classics! Nice arrangement and mixing! I really like what you've done here!
Sounds like you did spend a lot of time working on arrangement. I see you use Fruity 9 which I just bought today! To me it sounds a step above chill out but a good track nonetheless.
I would say Electronic? Kind of has an 80's electronic feel to it!
Well i didnt know wich genre i should choose for this so i decided chill out. Maybe you have another genre that fits better. Please tell me :)
FL9 thats right. Its ok. The only thing i dont like is the guitar slayer. Sounds not natural.
But if you find some good presets for a good guitar sound, please tell me :)
For one of your first tracks, I must admit it's sort of catchy. It's well composed, and it's got good levels all around. The panning is pretty cool too. Beyond the instruments sounding like they were played through a 3-inch speaker, I thoroughly enjoyed this little piece.
I like how it has an overall serious tone to it but is very playful and sweet. I may only be 18 but it makes me think of how it might be like when you become a parent. So incredibly beautiful, but you know it won't be easy. This is simple but really creates a mood, great work!
dude wow this is really a awesome track.. loved it . from every breath of the song to every exhale. this song kept me on the edge of my seat. not lieing. it moved my heart in ways not many songs have.. dude this is both a perfect track and moveing to the soul. i loved this song. dude you got deep amazing skill
