Greetings, Now this was a pleasant surprise to listen to. I love it a lot. And yeah it does remind of a song you would listen before stepping into a battlefield or something when moving around in a AMC or something. So very well done. It has that rawness in it as well yet that gentle flow as well. So yeah i liked it a lot and one for the favs for sure. Keep up the good work. Have a good one, Verdi

Hi Verdi, well, thank you very much. You're a straight shooter and I admire your music, so I very much like that you liked it. Yes, it's a pretty typical loose, garage band style for me. At least you can tell it's not AI. Cheers Chris

That's a great dark rock track. The military intro speaks and says 'prepare for the battle'. Which battlefield is it? Cool vocals and lyrics in this human collaboration. Frankly I don't want to admit that Revolution is over!

Ha ha yes. Maybe there's another one coming. I think we need some sort of radical change, even if it's just a revolution of the mind. Cheers Chris

Thanks Kayos, yes, I loved Micky's bass part. That's where most of the movement is. Cheers Chris.

Zoot, I like it. It sounds like it could be something from a Mark Lanegan project circa mid 1990s. The chorus (?) effects on the guitars, I think, are what does it. It could easily fit in a play list with Blind Melon, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, etc.

Micky's bass is a great addition. It sounds much fuller and warmer now. Kudos to Micky.

Honestly, I don't think the 2-3 minute mark needs anything at all. I think the synths you have in there are exactly as it should be. It's such a mellow tune that anything more would be distracting, or maybe even ruin the flow.

Yeah, man. I totally dig this.

I sent you an email a few minutes ago with an idea or two. If you like them, get a hold of me.

Take care.
V.

Thanks man. I'm not really familiar with Mark Lanegan or Screaming Trees etc. But I'll check him out later tonight. Yeah, Micky played a sweet bass on this track. First time I've ever had a real bass on one of my tracks! It's always been just me on midi! Cheers Chris

Still trawling the back catalog! Thanks for checking this out. It's terribly rough but captures a moment in time for me so I still like it. Been taking a wee break from LM, just listening here and there, but might put a track out soon. Cheers Chris

Beautiful song and a solid message against racism and segregation. People must be united with no discriminations of any kind. This is peace.
I liked your track really very much.

Thanks. Yes I'm a sucker for anything syncopated. Never got the mix/production right on this tho, despite innumerable attempts. But I've given up on that now. Cheers Zoot

Chris! This is loaded with goodness! A great take on a classic. The muted trumpet with those delayed guitar chords and the stereo field percussion did it for me. Historically this song has been done in every genre imaginable. You have done it justice for sure. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

Holy moly time flies. Yes, I forgot to mention in the new description that Pseudoble thought of putting the Jack Teagarden track to my music. I still wonder how he did that. Cheers Chris

Hi, thanks a lot. Someone else on this site has said much the same thing about my voice - Michael Hutchence had a great voice so I'll take the reference even if I don't necessarily believe it lol. Thanks again, will try to catch up on some listening tonight. Cheers Chris

Hi Zootman. I like this, with or without any vocals. Found myself singing some tune and scribbling notes while listening. It has plenty of grit, determination AND with attitude. I'll send you some lyrics that should transform into readable text - that maybe "go" with it. Well done!

Hi there, thanks so much mate. I got your email. I like the words. Sometimes what holds me back from the singing side of things (apart from embarrassment at hearing my own voice) is not having lyrics so I appreciate these. We'll see if I come back to this one or not, it's possible. Anyway, thanks again. Cheers Chris.

Hi, this is an absolutely stellar track. It really mixes up those genres. I love the contrasting guitars, especially at the beginning. The vocals suit the music totally. Reminds me of Apollo 440 at times with it's use of Dub styling and heavy guitars, I could also hear a bit of Can in the mix as well. All in all, an excellent track.

Zootman replied 21st Jun 2025 - 1 year ago
Thank you! I'm not familiar with Apollo440, I'll look them up. But I've been fascinated by Can for a good 35 years! Cheers Zoot.

Hi there, very nice to hear you liked it. I was going for a wall of sound thing, partially inspired by stuff like Sonic Youth (e.g. Theresa's Sound World - love that song). Plus I think the first section's chord progression, such as it is, comes from Iggy (Wanna Be Your Dog). Not that it sounds anything like either of those lol. If nothing else it was fun to have a go at mixing multiple guitar tracks. Anyway, so cool you might have a crack at it. I hope something comes of it. All the best, Chris.
