Vintage, indeed! The movie, "The Cotton Club" came to mind as I listened to this. The recorded scratch adds the perfect touch! I like this, a lot! Another Fav!
LOL...You seem to be digging my stuff, Kay, and I'm really glad and thankful. Thanks for the 'fav.'
When I started doing these 20s and 30s styles, I would have bet a dollar to a donut that no one would have cared much for them. I haven't listened to this one in about a year, but still enjoy it.
OMG, this is Awesome!! This has most definitely satisfied my bluesy side! That guitar playing is da bomb & I love Sax! This is a masterpiece...GreatWork!!
Thanks allot, Kay. Glad you like it and thanks for your comment.
Cheers,
Scott
P.S. I checked out one of the online music creators you mentioned. These are pretty cool to play around with, but if you are serious about your music, you should maybe check out some of the programs where you can actually do it yourself. I started with Cakewalk's 'Music Creator.' It's about $35. There are many others out there, but I've only stayed with Cakewalk programs since I started, so am not familiar with the others. You can use the loops from the members here in these programs. That's how I got started, than met other musicians to play on my tracks (and me on theirs) If I can help with anything, LMK...Good luck!
I absolutely loved the guitar, horns, and sax work in this song. It is a throwback to the early 70's stuff that many bands were experimenting with back then. Nice work.
Much appreciated, Kdlucas. Glad you like it and took time to comment.
Yeah, I'm pretty much a 'retro' guy. I just have a hard time finding much of today's music I like other than jazz, so guess I'll continue making it myself!
Kinda sounds like the music from Spy Hunter...a video game from back in the day. I love the excitement, the feel & the flow. I especially like the bass...Great Work!
nice one Scott, I really like it! It has this fine funky cool vibes. NIce combination of loops. I sort of assume you're playing the drums in here.
Very enjoyable tune, Alex
It's me, my friend. I love the fact that I can create music or collaborate with friends, and add my drums to it. Since retiring, I don't do much live playing now a days, but still love to play, so this really offers a great outlet.
Man a very nice groovy funk piece, stand out for me is the sax and piano, everything sounds spot on, nice beat to go with the guitar and sax, to keep track moving along just nice for the listener...good work...Fav...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
Super Clean hit the spot Scott, nailed this bad boy...
Outstanding Mix, must be the Logic in your production, I can tell
you know what you are doing...
We had a band 15 years before...we used bariton sax like Morphine (you know like a rhythm instrument), a 22 years old female 'bomber' (super lady :-) was the user...
You just got this memory back with this outstanding funky groovy Scott...
Thankx for that...instant fav...
ahh - give me that sampled baritone sax! You have a great feel for the woodwinds and brass sounds. They are not always easy to coax into something believable and musical. You seem to get it. You really bring that old school band together beautifully in this one. really enjoyed listening.
As usual, the basis for a great track is the percussion and you did not disappoint Scott. Great basis for the rest of the instruments....there is nothing better than having a great driving beat like this one. I enjoyed every last second of this one. Major props Scott for a job well done. And an add to favorites as well.
LOL...Thanks allot, James. Remember when we were talking about plugging in a mic to the Focusrite? Well, I thought I'd give it a try and it works nicely with Sonar. Thanks again for all your help.
hi Scott, nice old styled funky track. Shame they just mostly loops telling me directly whats next... but its good you figured it out already. that santana guitar instantly blending into the trumpet was nice. wow. anyway very funk. some rhodes in the background as well. I like the disco synths. the trumpet is far too much modern sounding smooth jazz a la chris botti. the compession to the drums with some punchig I do not like it. great soul disco vocals you ve quoted here. Overall nice enjoyable track. Best Alex
We've all got one lurking somewhere right? Feeling this one for sure reminds me of someone I know who has been present in everything musical since I was a teenager. Nothing I have listened to here has provoked so much emotion and bittersweet memories in under 5 minutes. A truly class job. That's going in my personal music collection right now. :-)
nice lines on nice b. track, cool classic guitar vibes. nice vocals and slow cat synths. but the sax are the best! - some Kenny G smooth kind of vibes. Nice work! Alex

I did some big band work back in the day, and always love it when the bari sax took a solo. I think it's one of my favorite woodwind instruments.
Glad I could bring back some memories for you.
